July is knocking

Hello -

I actually got my July calendar made before the month started. Yay for me!  Its been hot here the last week, thank goodness for air conditioning.

I have a new to me PTI stamp set with fireworks, and I thought it might be perfect for my July calendar.

Thanks for visiting.

June Card Chain Challenge

Hi there-

This month I was delighted to end up behind Hilary. Which meant I could send her a card. I used both the colors and the sketch for my card.  Since she has received my card, I am posting it.

I inked the panel. Next, separately  I stamped the Altenew Daisy and leaves and die cut them. A CTMH Sentiment was stamped just before adhering the panel to the card base.

There is still time to sign up for July until 7/8/19.

Thanks for visiting.

Thank You

Hello -

I wasn't very productive today, I wanted to get two cards made, but fortunately I think I still have tomorrow to get the second card made.

Tonight I have one for you, I'm entering it to two challenges:
CAS Stencil - Perfect Pearls  and Penny Black Saturday Challenge -Anything goes or partial stamping.

I used the Penny Black stencil Verdant along with copper colored perfect pearls on a square card front.  I've only used a small part of the top of the stencil for both images.

I sponged on versamark, then leaving the stencil in place brushed on the perfect pearls in copper. It gave me cleaner edges I think ---but left a messy stencil,  no worries it cleaned up easily with soap and water.

Lastly I added the CTMH Sentiment with copper EP from Stampin Up.  I'm quite pleased with the movement the two flowered corners with that sentiment seemingly connecting them.

Thanks much for stopping by.

Happy Holidays

Hello Again...
My last card for the day.  This one is inspired by two Christmas Challenges -  CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Gifts and Christmas Kickstart Challenge - Glitter Sparkle and Shine.

I die cut the presents twice, discarded the interior pieces and added gold glittery embossing powder to the outlines.  I layerd a plain white piece underneath to give it some heft.  I added a simple sentiment from CTMH in the same glittery gold embossing powder.  Very quick and simple.

Here is a close up so you can get a feel for the glitter sparkle and shine.

Thanks so very much for visiting.

Miss You

Greetings...

My week away seems to have jump started my mojo again.  YAY!   This card is for three challenges, one of which is new to me.

I am entering Just add Ink (Sketch),  CAS Watercolor (blue), and Challenge Up Your Life (tic tac toe).  I love it when one card can be made to fit several challenges.  I'm sending this one to my crafty friend - Peggy who recently moved from Maryland to Maine.  I do miss our get-togethers.

I started with the sketch, then chose the first column on the tic tac toe board which also satisfied the third challenge for something blue.

Adding score marks horizontally across the card base provided the start for the card; next - white heat embossing the Ellen Hutson mondo gebera daisy, coloring it with a water color marker and water brush, die cutting it (san stem with the help of some fussy cutting), mounting it on the prepared card base and lastly adding the sentiment from CTMH using my mini misti.

Catching Up

Hello!

Hubs and I just returned from a visit to Ohio for a graduation party and Father's Day.  Our drive out was longer than expected with traffic and downpours but we made it in just before midnight.  We spend a lovely week catching up with family and attending the functions we came to attend.   I saw my first fox in the wild, a cute little red one.  The sweet kitty we first met last summer has matured and had kittens in tow this visit.  I have a little collage photo I'll share at the end of my post.  I do some of my best sleeping in Ohio.  My nose is right under an open window and its nice and cool at night.  Our drive home was easy, the views were fantastic - light fluffy clouds on a blue sky and green everywhere.

After, catching up on blogs this morning, its time for the laundry; while it spins...I get to make some cards.  I have quite a few challenges to catch up on  in just a day or two.

I missed the last Twofer challenge, so that was one I wanted to be sure to enter before the 24th when it closes.
The little bees are my common element on each card.  One set was stamped on vellum and the other on the white card base.

I'm adding this one to Seize the Birthday.  Since I do have some of the card base showing through no toppings on this one.

I liked the simplicity of leaving the smaller bees black and white and just adding color to the larger one.  This one is buzzing by  Addicted to Stamps and More, Time Out Challenge, and Simon's Work it Wednesday.

And here is my little collage from our week away.

Thanks always for visiting and taking the time to comment.

Beautiful Day

Hello -

I recently won a box of goodies from Hero Arts.  One of the stamp sets was flowery-- Agapantha's.  I love them and they remind me of my Mother and our hunt for them one summer.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday

Hello!

My friend Betty sent me some gorgeous washi tape covered panels from the ton.  They are so beautiful I made a card adding only a sentiment strip with rose gold embossing to match the rose gold in the washi to the card front. I did die cut Betty's panel and popped it on a coordinating pink card base.

Geraniums

Hello-

I love coloring simple line flowers with big petals. Its easier for me. Small fussy spaces are difficult for me to color.  Pretty Pink Posh has several simple line flowers that are perfect for me.  These geraniums were a lot of fun to play with.  Hubs liked this one which was a bit of a shock - simply because he doesn't care for black card bases.  It was probably those red flowers...lol.

These were copic colored (R5,R17,R38; G19, G29).  They are off to Peggy, who has moved to Maine. She's getting settled in, and soon we hope to try a facetime crafting session.

Thanks for stopping by.

I am entering the cat card in three challenges :

Day of the Month Club Challenge -Hug your Cat , Watercooler Wednesday,   and   Addicted to CAS - Father.

Birthday Mouse

Hello!

I had to play with those cute mice from Newton's Nook again.  I'm still using that cream card stock.

This one is going to Seize the Birthday - anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Rose Garden

Hello-

While I had this stamp out, I made several cards.  The first two have already been posted.  They were watercolored.  This time I stamped them on cream cardstock and colored with copics.  I have to say I kinda like the warmth of the cream cardstock.

I had bought this in 100lb weight for card bases on watercolor cards.  Between the first time and the most recent time buying the cardstock ream, the cream color was not as light and it no longer matches my watercolor paper.  So now I am going to use it as I would use white card stock for a while.

It adds a warmth to the cards I think.  My cards were inspired by Double D Challenges, Rose Garden.

I'll be entering this last card over at Double D.  IT has a two toned colored rose, similar to the one in the lower left corner of the inspiration photo. (though I chose to invert the colors)

Thanks so much for visiting.

A variety

Hello -

While I am doing the laundry, I thought I'd take the time to play in some challenges.  Seems like its been more than a while since I sat down to play.  I still have several birthday cards to make to finish out my year.

I have my challenges in order by closing dates, so that is how I'll list them here.

Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown gave me inspiration for this card on cream cardstock.

I used embossing folders and dies on this card and just a bit of a sentiment. But I debate about that sentiment...yes no yes no well...finally decided to put it on.  I cut it all out of the same cream cardstock colored with copic markers in shades of teal and coral. My matt is navy.  A friend sent me the flower embossed panel...and forgive me I cannot remember who it was. Yikes! But thank you! I had tried the top cream panel as a flat panel but it just needed something, so I was thrilled to try out the corrugated embossing folder by SU. Its been here a bit but untried. I love the dimension it gives.

CAS Colors and Sketches has a color challenge, Watercooler Wednesday has a feminine anything goes challenge and Addicted to Stamps and More has a CAS challenge.

Altenew Daisies were stamped in several shades of pink and aqua with several shades of yellow centers.  After die cutting they were mounted to a pale pink card base and a CTMH sentiment was added. A few bling bits and the card is finished.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and visit.

Happy Graduation

Hello~

I have a card for Watercooler Challenge - Anything Goes, and CAS Mix UP - Ombre this afternoon.

I've  made several traditional graduation cards with the cap, but decided on something a bit softer and festive for this graduation card.

I used markers to add ombre coloring to die cut streamers. The die cut cover-plate was adhered over a mint card base. The sentiment was added to a piece of colored card stock that matched the middle color of the ombre via white heat embossing.  I know its a stretch for a CAS piece, but maybe not too much.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

June

Hello -

I've been puttering around blog land, but lacked the will to clean up my craft room.  Instead hubs and I went to Colonial Beach VA. Its a cute little beach on the Potomac.  We had a relaxing afternoon in mild temps.

My friend Peggy, who recently moved to Maine, was in Maryland for some family events and we spent some time together; with a bit of shopping, lunch and time to catch up.

I finally tackled the clean up and hope to get several cards made today...but first my June Calendar page.

Thanks for stopping by.
