Merry Christmas

Wishing you all a good days filled with blessings.

These are stained glass window scenes from Taylored expressions. I colored them with watercolor pens hoping to get a bit of that hazy effect one sees on stained glass, I then coved it with versamark and clear embossing powder and heat set it.

Thank you so very much for visiting.

Snow-family

 Hi there-

This  is likely my last post for the year, except for Christmas Day.  I am going to make soups, bake, watch movies, and nap. We are usually travelling to see family this time of year and are busy.  Since this is what we are handed this year, I am going to enjoy the slower pace.

I bought this snow-family stamp last year and I just love it.  Hard not to love a snowman stamp. They remind me of fun times as a child playing in snow before we moved to Southern California. Snow is still magical to me.

I stamped on mix media paper and used Arteza real brush pens along with a water brush.  The color did not move well, until I added water first to the paper then dabbed on the color from the marker. I thought the mixed media paper might react like Bristol, but no. Still it worked out.  I'm not sure what occasion I'll be using this for, so for the moment it has no sentiment.

Merry Christmouse

 Hi there -

Now that my Christmas Card list has an envelope addressed, stamped and filled with a card for each name the last of the cards can be mailed and I can play for the fun of it.

I have had this Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn collaboration for quite some time and it just saw use for the first time on some tags I made for a swap.  I don't think its been blogged yet.  I also have had the Lawn Fawn magic iris die for quite some time.  So today, watching you tube ALOT, I tried making my first card.

I am a messy crafter which you will see in the videos below.  I'll be entering the card to Tic Tac Toe challenge using the first row - stitching, ink blending, stars.

Calendar

So, its time for the last calendar page. I admit that after making all those cards...the calendar fell a bit short. Though I do smile when I look at it.

Holiday Wishes and a Merry Hello

Hello -

The end is definitely in sight...my stack of unstuffed envelopes is thinning to a small pile.

Over at Christmas Kickstart the theme is Twas the Night before Christmas.

I have two stocking's cards that fit the bill. One is layered up and the other is quite clean and simple.

Joy

 Hello.

Somehow my culled down Christmas card list exploded. I think there are some mischievous elves loose in my crafty space and they keep adding addressed but unfilled envelopes to my stack!

This card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, the add "S" (I chose silver) at Just Add Ink and it is a holiday card so it goes to Watercooler Wednesday whose theme this week is Occasions.

I bought this cool textured silver wrapping paper and used some for the sliver bits on my card. I changed the direction of the cuts so some had vertical texture and some had horizontal texture. The Joy die is from MFT.

Warmest Wishes

 Hi There -

Before I buckle down to kitchen duty, I stopped to make a card for two challenges. The colors were inspired by the board at Double D Challenges, and the design by the sketch at Case this Sketch.

A quick post! We all have a lot to do.

Happy and Merry

 Hello-

A few more Christmas cards for a few challenges today.  This card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches and Inspired By Challenge.  When you see the challenge icons below I am sure you can see how this card came about.

I love some simple stamping and easy fussy cutting. It was a quick and fun card to make.

While those silly cute gnomes were still on my desk, one more go with some more traditional Christmas colors.

This one is going to  Less is More-One Layer Card, Festive.

Thanks for taking the time to visit during this busy time.

Embossing

 Hey there -

My second post for the day.  The Christmas card making is ramping up.  I have only 5 left to make to fit my initial listing of those to be mailed long distances.  Closer distance cards will come later.

There are four challenges that inspired these two cards, and each one will be visiting three of the challenges.  The challenges are Time Out - Quick, Watercooler Wednesday Masculine, Christmas Kickstart and Lets Squash it!.

This card is going to Time out Quick, it took just a bit of time to emboss, use a silver pen to add highlights to the embossed image, add a scrap of silver wrapping paper on the left side and add the embossed sentiment. About 12 minutes in total.  I have precut bases and panels and that really cuts down the time to make a card.  This one will also visit Christmas Kick Start - The EF is called Ornaments on Side, and Let's Squash it.

This card is going to Watercooler Wednesday - Masculine, Christmas Kickstart and Lets Squash it. The embossing folder is Darices Holly Leaves.  I ran a green inkpad over it, then added stickles to the berries and stamped and colored a small holly image to adorn my computer generated sentiment.

Thanks so much for visiting. I hope you have an enjoyable day!

Guest Designing at Tic Tac Toe

 Hello-

I was thrilled when I received Felicita's email about guest designing with the fabulous designers over at Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I smiled even more when I saw the challenge board.  Thanks so much for having me join in.

For my card I chose the left row Bow, Embossing and Metallic.

I've been itching to play with my new bow stamp set from Stampin Up and this was the perfect inspiration to get the set out.

The card base edges were heat embossed with gold EP matching that of the bow and the sentiment.  I also dry embossed the main panel in a diagonal stripe to give additional texture.

Hope to see your cards in the gallery this week!
Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Christmas Gnomes

Hello-

I'm deep into making my Christmas cards now.  I want them mailed out by the end of the month. So I need to be on the stick.

This card is not traditional colors and I am entering it to two challenges - Color Throwdown and CAS Christmas

I had to add a few neutral brown and grays, to the colors at Color Throwdown in order to color the scene. I love these colors together and this image could easily be for a winter birthday, too.

Thanks so much for visiting, and I hope you are getting your holiday cards completed as well!

Merry And Bright

 Hello-

One more card for today.  I couldn't get the pink poinsettia out of my head, so I revisited pink for the challenge at CAS Christmas -Non-Traditional Colors.

I love this little tree from an older Simon Says Stamp set. It also features the cutest lil reindeer.  This was colored with copics, and a bit of sparkle was added to the lights and star with a spectrum glitter brush marker.

Thanks for visiting.

Sympathy

 Hi there,

As always it seems when my stash of sympathy cards is low, I need one.  Hubs' aunt passed over the weekend and I sat down to make several iterations of the same card.  I need to mail out several, each had a personal note along with the interior sentiment.

I prefer nature and monochromatic cards for Sympathy cards.  I find them more soothing somehow.

This card is going to Watercooler Wednesdays, since it is still Occasions' week barely!

Thanks for visiting.

More Peace

 Hello -

I still had that Center Cut Holiday Floral stamp out on my desk and I decided to play again with it with some non-traditional colors.  This was definitely a stamp worth the purchase.

The two cards will each visit  2 of these four challenges: Stamping Sensations -Christmas Flowers or Wreath,  Watercooler Wednesday - Occasions, The Flower Challenge - Add sentiment, and Little Red Wagon Non-Traditional Colors.

I started with some silver embossing and then used Karin markers and a waterbrush to color in the image. They were mounted on coordinating bases and I added a little bling.

This one is going to visit Stamping Sensations and The Flower Challenge.

This one is visiting Little Red Wagon and The Flower Challenge
