Taking Flight

Hello-

I got out a new to me stamp today and did a bit of coloring.  The stamp is from Newton's Nook; an older one -- I love it so I added it to my stash this winter.

This card will be visiting the galleries of  Inky Paws Challenge - Hearts; Double D Challenges - Fun with Balloons; and Watercooler Wednesday - All About Occasions.

Thank you very much for stopping by.

The Old Goats

Hello-

I needed a masculine birthday card for the son of a good friend.  He has a good sense of humor and I think he'll enjoy the card.

The image is from AI, a blogging friend (Leslie) sent me a few of the images in the set along with some sentiments.  I colored them with copics and added some strokes of grass under their hooves. I love the expressions on the goats faces!

I am submitting this to:

Watercooler Wednesday    Fusion

Thank you

Hello -

I'm still on a roll here with the cards.  This is the last one for the evening.

I am submitting this one to two challenges:

The Challenge - Shaped cards
Inspired by Challenge - Clusters

I used Ellen Hutson's Gebera Daisy and die cut it, along with a wonky rectangle to make this shaped card.  I colored the flower with karin makers after white heat embossing the image.  The sentiment comes from the same set.

Thanks for visiting.
Greetings -

I'm taking advantage of being awake and somewhat motivated.

This card is going to:
Christmas Kick Start - Penguin Parade
Addicted to Stamps and More - Holiday
CAS Christmas - Tag

I used a Neat and Tangled die to cut the tag.  I added the penguin from MFT's Holiday Penguins stamp set and colored it with copics. The snowflakes are from a Darice embossing folder.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Seasons Greetings

Hello-

There are several challenges I'd like to play in and they are all expiring soon.
So first off this entry for:
CAS Watercolor Challenge, (cool colors Blue print sketch, Salty Ocean,
Mowed Lawn and  Dusty Concord)
ABC Christmas Challenge  (Option B, last row of tic tac toe) and
Addicted to CAS (Frosty, Snowflake, and frosted gem).

I created a watercolor washed square using Distress Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn and just a touch of Dusty Concord.  I overlaid a diecut snowflake from Lawn Fawn, added a clear embossed sentiment from MFT and topped it all with a single frosted gemstone.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Thank you

What do you do when you wake up in the middle of the night with a card idea that won't let you sleep?   I get up and make the darned card.

Such is the case this wee early morning.  (I've always said 3am should never be seen unless you haven't been to sleep!)

CAS Mix up has been nagging at my brain, and I had the perfect dies for it.  They are Simon Says Stamp's  partial cut flowers.  I do know how to perform the technique by stopping the die cutting before it completes the design, but I love these little blooms and they are partially die cut so should qualify.

I've laid out my flower dies on the front panel, taped them in place and cut them, then I did the same to a dark gray scrap.  I sandwiched the dark gray panel between the main and cardbase.

Before adhering it I pushed the petals outward for some dimension. I added some foam dots to keep the petals from lying flat again.

Before adding the sequin centers I die cut the panel to add stitching and a scalloped edge. All was mounted onto a pale gray cardbase and the sentiment was stamped and then heat embossed.

I added some interest to the top petals free hand using a pale gray marker.

This photo shows a close up of the partial diecut, the under petals, the stitching, and the marker strokes on the petals.

This was a very quick and easy card to make, writing up the post took twice as long.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Birthday

Hello -

I finally feel like I am getting back into the swing of things despite my crazy vampire hours.

Tonight's card is for two challenges - CAS Stencil celebrating their first birthday and Seize the Birthday who wants a stencil used on our cards.

I used a new to me stencil from Pretty Pink Posh...I got it in the fall be neglected to ink it up until now.  Its a lovely leafy pattern and should work year round.  I used distress inks in mowed lawn, iced spruce, and mermaid lagoon. I applied color with a makeup brush.

Thanks for visiting.

I love the Gnome

Hello -

A quick card for a couple of challenges.  Shopping our Stash wants Gnomes, and Freshly Made Sketches has the design for this card and the colors come from Just us Girls.

The Gnome is from Simon Says Stamp, the patterned papers are from Stampin UP, and the Sentiment comes from Sugar Pea Designs.

Happy Birthday

Hello-

This evening I played in a Hero Arts Scramble, they are now on Facebook in a private group. Its been a long time since I played.  It requires Hero Arts stamps, dies or stencils a limit of 90 minutes to create, photograph and upload a photo of your card.  Today's card took me about 45 minutes.  I wish I had cleaned off my craft table before starting...but I just shoved everything aside to give me a space for my mini misti.  I keep my vagabond out all the time so its always ready to die cut.

I used a couple of old favorite Hero Arts Stamps - Butterflies and the Brushstroke set. I don't have the exact names they have worn off their storage pouches.  The butterfly was stamped and colored, then the brushstroke was heat embossed with Rangers Liquid Platinum ep. The left side of the butterfly is adhered flat and the right side with just a thin bit of foam tape.  The sentiment from Sugar Peas was stamped and embossed and attached with more foam tape.  I added some gems in coordinating shades and the card is done.

Cindy's challenge to us was to use the sketch from Case this Sketch, and that challenge was on my to do list along with Watercooler Wednesday.  Yay, one card 3 challenges.

Hello

Greetings,

Another card.  I was having a hard time with my homework from Online Card Classes - The Coloring Road Trip.  Great tips, though my brain doesn't want to cooporate and put them to use.  This card is closer to something I learned, and I am quite happy with it.

I'll be posting it to  Addicted to Stamps and More, (copic markers)  Casology, (Leaf cluster is stamped 3 times)  and Time Out the colors were of a dress I once owned a beautiful teal with a navy belt.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Thank You

Hello -

I'm straying from my critters for just a bit.  I am taking the coloring class at Online Card Classes and this is the hardest one I have ever done.  I am having fits with the homework. Every hint is so outside my comfort zone.  But I had to try something different and this card will be visiting two challenges  - Allsorts and Color Throwdown.

Allsorts theme is say it with flowers. The unusual colors I took from Color Throwdown.  I used Altenew's Wallpaper Flower image, a leaf die outline from Simon Says stamp and only 3 copic markers YR23, BG49 and B99.  I added some colored pencil to it and some white gel pen. I think it works...how about you?

Warm my Heart

Greetings -

I've been struggling to get an idea into my head to create since getting home from our holiday travels. Then while straitening up my crafty space...several stamps were missing.  I searched all the places they should have been and nothing.  These things bother me...I can't stop wondering about it until I find a reasonable answer. It came to a head last night, I finally remembered I had put a stack of stamps in a box just to clear some room before we left for Ohio.  So I was able to sleep.  This morning I found the box. All is well.

After looking through some challenges, I chose these:

Inspired By Challenge                                                Just Us Girls

My colors came from Inspired by, and to create dimension, I stamped the cup image colored the edges, then adheared another fully colored cup with foam tape over the image on the card panel.  Stamp set is from CTMH (a teacup with some masking to make it a cup of cocoa), patterned paper from Stampin Up, Copic colors R17, 29, 59; E00,11 and some left over hearts from long ago.

Thanks for stopping by.

Twofer Second Blogoversary

This month marks our 2nd Blogaversary at Twofer and in celebration, there are prizes being offered! Please pop over to the Twofer Card Challenge post for detailed information on the prizes!

As usual  I start by picking out my stamp or die, this month I am using Altenew's Halftone Hearts.  I love the dotted effect on these hearts.   Next, I sketch out ideas for two different designs.

After that I make the cards, and sometimes I veer off the plan of my sketch a bit, but that is usually okay since they still are different designs from one another.

I used one of the medium to small hearts in the set.  I stamped it several times in Pink, then in a darker pink/purple color with a smaller dotted heart to make an oval stamped shape.  I added a sentiment strip across the center and mounted it onto a pink card base.

My second card has a row of hearts stamped vertically and fussy cut along the left edge. The panel was then mounted to a black card base and the sentiment was stamped.

Thanks so much for visiting, hope to see your heart card in the Twofer Card Challenge gallery this month!
