Play time

Hi All,

I am posting from California and anticipate being here several more weeks.  I found watercolor markers under the Artist's Loft brand (Michales) that are so overwhelmingly like Zig Clean Color markers down to the brush tip, clear lid, vibrant colors and made in Japan markings.  After playing with them I have to say I wouldn't be surprised to find they were the same just branded differently.

They come in a pack of 12 for about 45, close to the same price point of zigs...but you can use that weekly coupon and get them for 40-50% less.  At that price I had to try them out.

The flowers are all from Penny Black one single cling stamp - Full of Glee. The sentiments are from Simon Says - Autumn Greetings, and the other two are from AAW.  The first card shows the Penny Black Stamp as it is out of the bag, the others are all masked and multi-stamped portions of the image.

So much NBUS here, I have to enter in Darnell's NBUS challenge.
IT'S HERE!

Using it up

Hi Crafters!

Now that my CA stay has been extended, all my pre-set posts have been published. So now I am working on the limited bit of crafty stuff I brought along.

It's tough to get started,  I haven't done much crafting in the last month.

For this batch I used mostly pre-cut panels; the adorable little hedgie was also pre-stamped and sent to me.

I had to laugh when I saw this sentiment set by  Cathy Z at Simon Says Stamp.  The big hello and then so many cheeky follow up sentiments had me cracking up.  My friend Evelyn, of 40 + years is definitely my hide - a  - body friend (not that I can ever imagine needing that particular help!!)

The inside of this one reads "for being there". I am blessed to have friends I can call at the drop of a hat and they will be there, period.

There are also some lovely secondary sentiments along with the cheeky ones. Its a great stamp set called Hello You.

Blog-annivearsary Winners Post

Hi Everyone!

I am still in California and will be here for a while longer.  I've asked my dad to pick the winners. I gave him a list of all the posts with the number range of comments.  I asked him to pick two posts and one number for each post within the range of number of comments.

I've sent emails to the winners below who each chose an online retailer for their gift certificate.

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by and especially those who took the time to comment.

The winners are:

Cat I've never seen this set, but have to ask you to use it again, and again - how wonderful that embossing is! A gorgeous card for your fella! Is the tan/navy map print pattern stamped as well?

You know I love wreaths & pink--this is a perfect example of why! What a beautiful card, Cat! I'm on the same mission, although I did break my rule to use a gc during a sale. That doesn't count--right?!

Congratulations Ladies!

A flower pot

Howdy!

Are ya all sick of my AI watercolor cards yet?  I am enthralled by them, probably  because I cannot draw or paint an image in my head onto paper. My brain doesn't work that way, but with these stamps faking it is easy!

More Cliff Time

Hi There-

I saw this cliff scene on AI's Watercolor Wensday series.  Peggy to the rescue - she had the little houses and I had the cliff so I was able to play some.

I chose not to color my buildings just the roofs.

Something tropical

Hello

On a trip to a fabulous crafty store in Virginia called Goldenshill Papercraft, I found these two stamps from Stampendous.  One of our gals from the group was soon moving to Florida and I thought this might make a cute card for her.  I pretty much cased the design, but not necessarily the colors from the store sample.  It is colored in a flow-y way as intended by the designer Laurel Birch. It is bright and wild.

It was way out of my comfort zone, and I may never color them again...but it was something I had to try.

Birthday Wreath

Hi There:

I am determined to get through my pile of new stamps before buying any more...is that do-able?  Hmm I am going to find out.

The die and wreath are from CTMH, the sentiment from Ellen Hutson, the bow from Avery Elle and the flowers from Lawn Fawn. The wreath was my new item.  Wreaths can be used any time of year...especially this one - spring, summer, fall and definitely for the holidays. It's all in how it is decorated.
