Happy

 Hello -

Wow a second card and post in one day.  You guessed it...a face time crafting session with Peggy -- she inspires me to make pretty things.

This is a mini slimline card 3.25 by 6.25 its off just a bit from the traditional measurements, since it has to fit in an envelope I got online touted to be a mini slimline and yes I checked the envelope measurements when I ordered it...but I didn't think about needing room for the card to slide in. Hence my card is a bit smaller.

This card is going to visit two challenges calling for slim line cards - Freshly Made Sketches and Just add ink.  I've used Bigger Blooms from the Greetery for my florals and the sentiment comes from CTMH. I scribbled the frame on the white panel and deliberately had my blooms overflow the white panel to the cards edge. I used altenew inks they make double and triple layer stamping so much easier.  And of course I had to add a bit of PPP bling.

One last note - I added FOLLOW IT to my blog sidebar, you can sign up there to continue to get my blog by email once feedburner closes down. I've seen a few bloggers have moved over to it and I joined the pack.

Thank much for coming to visit...enjoy the holiday weekend my friends in the USA.

Happy Anniversary

 Hello-

Soon hubs and I celebrate our 13th anniversary.  Its one of two occasions I can get away with a bit less masculine card.

I used the heart wreath from Simon's set You Have My Heart. It is a huge set and has fabulous images. I particularly like the wreath as it is mostly leaves, with one rose bunch and some berries.  I think it works for a Masculine card.

I am sending the card to Watercooler Wednesday and Addicted to Stamps

After coloring it with copic markers and die cutting, it I mounted it to a cardbase having been embossed with SU's subtle texture ef.  The sentiment from the same set was embossed in white on the same gray as the card base and mounted with foam tape.

So does it read masculine enough for an anniversary card?

Thinking of you

 Hello-

I saw this card at Gundi's blog Papierelle and I loved that she had built a sweet scene in the corner of her card.  So I decided to case her design as it inspired me.

I took a bit of a bigger corner, but I love that little scene.  Thank you Gundi for inspiring me.

Delightful as you

 Hello-

I made this card around 8 this morning while face timing with Peggy, at 9 I went to bed having been up all night.  Now I'm just getting it together to post.

I have always loved tulips, and the new Mondo Tulip from Ellen Hutson is gorgeous and a breeze to color. This one is going to visit Stamping Sensations and The Flower Challenge.

This velvety color combo is Copic markers RV14, 04, 19, 69 from lightest to dark.

Flocked Vellum

 Hello-

I love stalking the Stampin Up sales. I picked up some lovely flocked vellum 12X12 sheets for a steal of a price.  They will be perfect for Christmas cards.  This one is particularly for CAS Christmas Card Challenge.

I cut a 2.5 inch strip of the vellum, turned it over colored in the berries. Next I adhered it to a very light gray card base so the flocking stands out and added a red glitter tape border. A small sentiment and this very quick clean and simple card is done.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Happy Birthday

One more card before I try to sleep...

This one will be visiting Addicted to Stamps, CAS Mix Up Card Challenge and Seize the Birthday.

A new stencil from Simon Says Stamp that is HUGE. I found some blooms in line and set it up on my panel. I used a few post it notes to block off areas I didn't want ink to flow over into.  I thought my yellow was stronger, but it looks like the orange played bully...lol.  No matter a yellow cardbase and sentiment strip and all the rainbow colors are included in this stenciled birthday bouquet.

Thanks much for visiting.

Just Because

 Hello -

I am making an effort to get to my crafty space more instead of napping.  I hope that will reboot my internal clock.

This card is for Just Us Girls, Addicted to CAS, and Casology.  I am playing with Dragonfly Friends from Pretty Pink Posh. She has such cute illustrations. I used the colors from Just us Girls, and I'd call em bugs and they definitely belong outside.  The wings of each have some wink of stella so if they catch the light they'll glisten a bit.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Hello

Hi there -

I have a card for three challenges.  It will be visiting Freshly Made Sketches, Watercooler Wednesday, and Just Add Ink.

I used two embossing folders - Stampin Up's Subtle Dynamics on the card base and Simon Says Stamp's Floral Centerpiece. The gems are from Pretty Pink Posh and the fish tail die is MFT, the hello die is from Simons - an old favorite. I added delicata gold ink to some flower centers and the hello is diecut from shiny gold paper.

Daffodils

Hello -

Its been hard getting to my craft space lately, it's the old sleep thing. My usual crafting hours early afternoon have lately been spent sleeping.  Not sure if its vaccination hangover, my 25hour circadian rhythms or just nonsense.

Tonight, I got some time in to play in three challenges: CAS Colours and Sketches, Double D Challenges and Inky Paws Challenge.

I recently got the cute daffodils from Newton's Nook, and I thought they might be fun for this card. I colored with copics and then used the matching die to cut them out.

I used some SU designer paper for the background and popped the flowers on top along with a sentiment from the set stamped on a bit of the left over long strip.  The theme at Inky Paws is Thanks and this set had the perfect sentiment and the perfect image for Double D Challenges.

I have made a few slimline cards, but they are so tough to photograph in a square format which I prefer. So when I saw that CAS Colours and Sketches wanted a mini slimline 6.5 by 3.5 inches I immediately saw the value in that shape.  Once you cut your cardbase at 7 x 6.5 with paper oriented in landscape position - you have two pieces left, one strip that can be used for sentiments etc, and a 4 by 4.25 that will make a perfect 4X4 square card!

Have you tried slimline cards? Which size is your favorite?

Thanks for visiting.

Happy Birthday

 Hello -

My Bestie is celebrating a milestone birthday and I wanted to create a card for her in her favorite color Pink. She and I have known each other since we were both 13, more than 4 decades.

She is my sister of choice. We talk weekly and haven't see each other for a few years now.  I miss her hugs, her smile and our ability to communicate with just a glance.

The flowers are from Colorado Craft Company, the big bold dogwood blooms. These are large images. My card is A2 sized. The blooms are layered - some flat to the gray cardbase, some popped up.

So dearest Evelyn, I am wishing you a very Happy Birthday, and I am blessed to have you in my life.

Thanks so much for visiting.

April CCC

 Hello there!

This post is for the April Card Chain Challenge.  This challenge gives you 5-7 options of themes, colors, sketch, and technique for a card which you make and mail. Everyone who plays along makes and mails a card and gets one in return.

This month my card is going to Norway.  I used muted versions of the colors suggested (walnut, jade and lavender) and the theme of small furry animals.  I really enjoyed making this card and I hope the recipient likes it.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Floral Essence in Yellow

 Hello -

Seeing the flowers and the yellow door on Just Add Ink, I knew I had to make a card.  I pulled out a new to me stamp set from Stampin Up called Floral Essence.  It had line and full color image stamps.  I went the quick route with the full color blooms and leaves for this card. I added a piece of designer paper also from SU (I think it is pattern play.)

The flowers were stamped and fussy cut along with several leaves.  Some leaves were stamped on the front panel. I laid out the flower and added leaves here and there. The designer paper was added to that panel and all were cut down to be placed on an A2 card base.  The sentiment was stamped in the green of the leaves and added at the end.

CUYL May Guest Designing

I am thrilled to be guest designing for Challenge Up Your Life this month (and next!)  I was among winners picked from their flower challenge in March and Martina offered a chance to Guest. Of course I immediately said yes.   CUYL is once a month challenge which gives everyone plenty of time to come up with a project.

I love a good gnome, and this challenge is perfect for sweet little gnomies.  The set I used is next door gnomes from Hello Bluebird.

My fascination with gnomes goes back to childhood. I was enraptured by the Mainzelmannchen on German television, they made me laugh.

From Wikipedia : The Mainzelmännchen are six cartoon characters used as mascots for German public service television broadcaster ZDF. They appear in between ads during broadcast, in roughly three to five second clips, and often during the satirical news program Heute-show. The name is a combination Mainz, headquarters for ZDF, and Heinzelmännchen, a type of gnome common in folklore surrounding the city of Cologne. Wolf Gerlach created the characters.

A collection of the very short clips is here.

Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you in the gallery!
