Hello-

The last push is on for the Christmas cards, and I have em all done.  Now to get them into their envelopes. I am going to take my time with that...I have some sewing projects I need to get done in the next week in time for shipping so that will be my focus.

This card is visiting CAS Colors & SketchesStamping Sensations and We Love Stamping.

I did take a bit of liberty with the sketch turning it to portrait vs landscape.

06-27-23

 Hello-

It is pouring outside at this moment...we didn't get much from the big storm expected yesterday evening but its coming down now. I do love a good summer storm.

I took a bit of license with the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches and maybe its not quite a sterile CAS card...but I think its close so I will share it in the challenge gallery.

it does have a surprise inside too...

The MFT Cool Cats set has this cute back side image of a cat that fits perfectly to the head only image. I love this unexpected bit of fun, so I am also sending this to Time Out challenge gallery-Funny, because this makes me giggle.

Thanks so much for visiting.

05-31-23

 Hello-

Well it isn't the middle of the night and I am at my craft desk.  We'll see how it goes...I'll probably conk out at dinner time.

I'm still tackling the new stuff.  Today two die sets from Pink Fresh Dainty Blossoms and Noteworthy frames.  CAS Colours and Sketches has a double this week-both a color and sketch brief.

Super happy and bright colors for this one.  The cardbase and envelope were already printed, I added the off set stamped and die cut panel and the diecut stems.

I made another card inspired by the colors at Color Throwdown.  I just got the Everything Wonderful Card Kit from MFT, and I had a play with it.  I always thought I didn't have the patience for stitching with floss on cards, but these little flowers are done before I get fed up...lol.

The card base is from the Stampin Up Teacup set I got on clearance. Love that the envies are already decorated for me. This green stripe was perfect for the challenge.

I think that is it for me today.  The eyelids are getting heavy.  Thanks so much for visiting.

03-02-22

 Hi There -

I am glad to have the distraction of a new card kit.

Today I play with the houses.  I cut them from cardstock, and used a darker shade of copics to darken the accent pieces. I had cloud outlines left from previous cards and added them to the upper card for some more texture but to leave the card fairly clean.

The card is inspired by the colors at CAS Colours and Sketches. I am using black as a neutral and have limited the colors to those prescribed by the challenge. All dies and sentiment are from MFT.

 Thank you for visiting.

11-23-21

 Hello-

I'm still plugging away at the Christmas card stash.  And once that's done comes the addressing, signing and postage stamping.  I'd like to get the overseas and west coast cards out by the end of the month. Cross your fingers for me.

This card is visiting Christmas Kickstart Challenge (snippets) and CAS Colours and Sketches (sketch).

I started by using MFT's Holiday Background in Fog ink. Then I used a leftover piece of glittered paper to cut the merry and the berries. A snippit of green left over from yesterdays wreath had enough left to cut the holly leaves. I hope you can see the sketch in my card.

Thanks for visiting.

11/11/21

Greetings!

To all our Veteran's thank you so very much for your service.

I love the little monsters from PPP's Monster Hugs stamp set.  I thought they'd make a cute thank you card as well.

I masked the hugs part of the sentiment and found a thanks sentiment that would go with the silly nature of the card.  The die cut monsters and the sentiment flag were mounted on a card base stamped with a text background from SSS You matter.

I am sending this card to the following challenges:

10-30-21

 Hello-

I am trying to get my Thanksgiving cards finished so I can mail them timely and finish up the 31 more Christmas cards I need.  ITs the busy season for a card maker.

At CAS Colours & Sketches this time its a sketch.  I made a quick card with die cuts.

The dies for the leaves and branches are from Stampin Up's die set that goes with Forever Fern and the sentiment is from the Greetery.

Thanks for stopping by for a few.

Daffodils

Hello -

Its been hard getting to my craft space lately, it's the old sleep thing. My usual crafting hours early afternoon have lately been spent sleeping.  Not sure if its vaccination hangover, my 25hour circadian rhythms or just nonsense.

Tonight, I got some time in to play in three challenges: CAS Colours and Sketches, Double D Challenges and Inky Paws Challenge.

I recently got the cute daffodils from Newton's Nook, and I thought they might be fun for this card. I colored with copics and then used the matching die to cut them out.

I used some SU designer paper for the background and popped the flowers on top along with a sentiment from the set stamped on a bit of the left over long strip.  The theme at Inky Paws is Thanks and this set had the perfect sentiment and the perfect image for Double D Challenges.

I have made a few slimline cards, but they are so tough to photograph in a square format which I prefer. So when I saw that CAS Colours and Sketches wanted a mini slimline 6.5 by 3.5 inches I immediately saw the value in that shape.  Once you cut your cardbase at 7 x 6.5 with paper oriented in landscape position - you have two pieces left, one strip that can be used for sentiments etc, and a 4 by 4.25 that will make a perfect 4X4 square card!

Have you tried slimline cards? Which size is your favorite?

Thanks for visiting.

Sympathy

 Hello-

My stash of sympathy cards is empty again. So I am making one on the fly to send out tomorrow.

I was inspired by the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches and the colors at Color Hues a new challenge.  The card will also be visiting the Watercooler Wednesdays Challenge.

I opted to use a portrait card orientation instead for CAS Colours and Sketches.  The base was inked, the leaves die cut and inked in the same shade of green. I liked that tone on tone. The remainder of the card was inked in yellow. A bit of a thread bow was added in yellow along with the sentiment. Simple enough for a Sympathy card, but hopefully it will bring a smile.

Thank you all for taking the time to visit.

Fabulous Friend

Hi Again,

I wanted to make a CAS card for CAS Colours and Sketches because I loved the colors.

The last card I made was not CAS at all so I grabbed another stamp and colored it.  This one from Altenew - Everlasting Happiness.

Thanks so much for visiting.

More Pawly Plushies

Hi there -

I still had those adorable Clearly Besotted bears out on my table, so I decided to play with each one. I did not buy the dies for them and I really dislike fussy cutting, but I have to say these were fairly stress free fussy cutting.  I'm not a perfectionist when it comes to fussy cutting, but I didn't say a bad word or even think one while cutting out the six bears and two balloons. So for me that's a big thumbs up!

Two of the cards were made for challenges, and were inspired by two sketch challenges.

For CAS Colours and Sketches :

For Freshly Made Sketches:

And here are the other 4 bears:

For this card I created the sentiment on my computer and printed it directly onto the card base.  I have those days where I just want to cuddle up with a soft blanket and shut out the rest of the world.  I am at heart an introvert.

Thanks so much for visiting.

CAS Colours and Sketches GD Week 4

Hey there -

I can't believe February is almost over and so is my time as Guest designer at CAS Colours and Sketches.  I've had a wonderful time and I hope you all have enjoyed it too.  This week is a sketch challenge.

I did a bit of ink blending using antique linen. Then I grabbed some cute lil birthday chickies from MFT and made a birthday card. The images were colored with copics, and the balloon got some Nuvo crystal glaze to make it shine. I mounted the panel on a coordinating colored card base. Colored card bases are festive!

Can you make out the sketch in my card?  I hope to see yours in the Gallery at CAS Colours and Sketches soon.

Thanks for visiting.

CAS Colours and Sketches Week 3

Greetings -

I am back with my third card guest designing for CAS Colours and Sketches.  This week it is another color challenge.

Remember, only the challenge colors plus neutrals (white, ivory, black, grey, brown, metallic [gold, silver or copper] or kraft for card bases/layers image outlines and sentiments) should be used in your cards.

While I have the above colors in stampin up blends, I don't have the ink pads. I used Hero Arts Fresh Peach, Field Greens, and SSS Sunshine.  The stamp set is from SU and is called Wishing you Well.  I bought it for that organza bow...but I have come to love this spray as well. Its a nice rubber stamp and stamps perfectly on just an acrylic block.

Thanks so much for visiting, and I'd really love to see your card in the gallery!

CAS Colours and Sketches Week 2

Hello -

Are you ready for my second card Guest Designing over at CAS Colours and Sketches?  This week we have a sketch to play with.

I went with a very literal interpretation and used up some goodies I had in my left overs bin. They don't look like left overs now!  It was so quick and easy to put together -- a sure sign its a fabulous sketch!

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope to see you in the Cas Colours and Sketches Gallery!

Cas Coulours and Sketches Guest Designing

Hello-

I was surprised and delighted to receive Patricia's email asking if I wanted to Guest Design for CAS Colours and Sketches. My name had been selected from previous months weekly winners.  Of course I was thrilled to participate.  I'll be bringing you 4 cards during February as Guest Designer for CAS Colours and Sketches. (Thanks so much for the invitation Patricia!)

The challenge this week is a color challenge:
Remember, only the challenge colors plus neutrals (white, ivory, black, grey, brown, metallic [gold, silver or copper] or kraft for card bases/layers image outlines and sentiments) should be used in your cards.

Here is my card:

I've used Altenew's vase die in silver glitter paper. The Japanese Mums were stamped using a pink shade for the base layer and 1 red shade of ink for the two detail layers. The outline layer was stamped and embossed in silver.

I hope to see you in the gallery!  Thanks so much for visiting.

Lovely Day

Hello~

We had an early dinner tonight, so afterwards I was able to get back to my craft space.  One more card today.  It was inspired by Cupcake InspirationsThe Card Concept, and CAS Colours and Sketches.

I use a Penny Black Stamp with platinum embossing and I carefully copic colored it  despite the embossing. (Popular wisdom suggests not to color heat embossing with copics, as the solvents in the marker may dissolve the embossing material resulting in a damaged marker tip.)

Thanks so much for visiting!
