Happy Christmas

Hello - I hope my fellow US residents had an enjoyable Thanksgiving.  It was just hubs and I and a low key day with football and turkey.  Since its just the two of us I did not cook a whole bird. I had a turkey breast along with the trimmings for our meal and it was good, but the leftovers...those seem to taste better than the first meal.  We  have enough left for one more plate of scrumptiousness which I'll be serving Sunday to more football.

Today's card is for three challenges - Christmas Kickstart - Show us your Santas, Double D Challenge - Mood Board below, Watercooler Wednesday - All about occasions.

Weirdly enough I have very few Santa stamps...I could only find this one by Clearly Besotted...I might have one more somewhere.  I stamped him and colored with copic markers. Next I over-stamped him with versafine black onyx ink to give nice crisp lines (thank goodness for the Misti).  The coverplate is from Mama Elephant and I love it. So much you can do with winter and the holidays. The sentiment comes from MFT.

Happy Holidays

Greetings -
And Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends.  I didn't make Thanksgiving cards this year.  Just some generic fall and Halloween cards.  I am deep into my Christmas cards. I've determined I need 75 and I have about 18 more to finish.

Die- Mama Elephant, Snowman and sentiment MFT.

To help me with that this morning before I head downstairs to spend my day in the kitchen and living room watching football I was inspired by 3 challenges:

Just Us Girls - Photo Week (Its perfect for a recently acquired Mama Elephant die)
Cupcake Inspiration - Snowmen
Day of the Month Card Club - Look for Circles Day (the trees have small circle cutouts)

Triple CAS

Hi there -

Where has this month gone????  I looked at the calendar and saw it was the 24th and realized I had yet to play along with the ladies at the CAS challenges...so I got myself to my craft space and had some play time.

I started with CAS Stencil - Monoprint, because it needed drying time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Next I played with CAS Mix up -  Oxidized Metal
This one was tough for me for some reason.
I have stamping, oxidized metal and embossing both dry and heat.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My final card is for CAS Watercolour - Monochromatic

I used reds from the distress inks and some gold embossing hopefully this
counts as a neutral and doesn't disqualify the card.

It was an enjoyable evening of crafting and getting inky.  Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous week.

Snap

Hello~

A bit of a different post today.  I worked on a sewing project for the crafty gals for Thanksgiving.  It is a little snap close bag.  I made a coordinating little tag to go inside with a greeting.  I am so thankful for these wonderful ladies.

I'm submitting this to Shopping our Stash -So Thankful.

I got the idea and instructions from this You Tube Video.  I made 10 in about 3.5 hours.

I had to adjust the measurements as I was using up 10X10 inch squares for a project I abandoned last year.  But after re-figuring the measurements to make it work with the squares I already had, it went fast.

Lovely Day

Hello~

We had an early dinner tonight, so afterwards I was able to get back to my craft space.  One more card today.  It was inspired by Cupcake InspirationsThe Card Concept, and CAS Colours and Sketches.

I use a Penny Black Stamp with platinum embossing and I carefully copic colored it  despite the embossing. (Popular wisdom suggests not to color heat embossing with copics, as the solvents in the marker may dissolve the embossing material resulting in a damaged marker tip.)

Merry Mistle Toad

Hey there -

I have a card for several challenges today.  This card will be visiting the galleries in the following challenges: Inky Paws, Freshly Made Sketches, Watercooler Wednesdays, and Addicted to Stamps.

The design comes from Freshly Made Sketches, the color palette from Inky Paws, the sentiment for Watercooler Wednesdays, and the technique of copic coloring is for Addicted to Stamps.  This cute lil toad comes from Newton's Nook.

Snow One Like You

Hi there-

It's laundry day again...when I complain about it, hub's response is enough to make this old gal blush and giggle while she loads that machine. He makes me laugh every day, simply one of the many reasons I love him.

Okay on to the challenges. Three came together nicely, though one might take a minute to think through.  The challenges are CAS Colours and Sketches for the colors, Christmas Kickstart for the Snow, and Casology for appreciation.

I used Stampin Up stampin blends in Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, and Highland Heather.  My neutral was a bit of gray copic for shadows in the snow. I used distress ink in milled lavender for the ink blended background.  A white gel pen provided the snow flakes.  The sentiment is part of the MFT set Frosty Friends along with the snowman.

Twofer Card Challenge 22 Holiday Greenery

Greetings,

The last Twofer Challenge for this year starts today, and Darnell has a twist for you all, and I bet you'll like it.

For this month only - She is suspending the requirement for two separate occasions.

That means if you'd like to you can make two cards for the same occasion.

Do you need to add to your Christmas card stash? This is a perfect opportunity to do that!  Of course if you love the challenge of two separate occasions you can still participate as we do all year long. It's your choice.

First I pick out my common element.
This is Wispy Pine Corner from Poppy Stamps.

Next a sketch of ideas---so I can see and
 make sure that the designs are different.

Here are my cards together:

Can you see how the sketches transformed into the cards above?

And separately:
I went a bit unconventionally using that sprig on my first card.
Some trimming and lots of bling turned three corners into a Christmas Tree.

Its hard to see, but the white pieces have
been daubed with a frost shimmer stick.

Thanks so much for visiting, and I'd love to see you in the Twofer Gallery this month.

Hope your fall is extra mice

Hello -

I was clearing my desk off and decided to stamp on a couple of scrap circles.  I also still had my pencils out so those were my coloring medium for these two cards, for two different challenges.

My first mouse is going to the Neutral Fall colors at Double D Challenges.  They have a great mood board and I loved all the gray.

The second mouse is visiting the Inspired By challenge, the color mix of the gray and orange-y shades inspired this card.

The mice are from Newton's Nook Autumn Mice.

Thanks much for visiting.

Thank You

Hello -

I managed to get one more card made before I head off to the kitchen for dinner.

I took out another of those cute Newton's Nook Autumn Mice, and colored per the colors at Color Throwdown - Brown, Orange Moss, Green and Cream. The design is courtesy of Freshly Made Sketches and the sentiment is for Just Us Girls.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Christmas Wishes

Hello -

I've been busy making cards and doing a bit of sewing.  Most of the cards are for future design team posts so they'll be posted later on.

Tonight I have a card for Less is More CAS on Friday and Addicted to Stamps and More.

I pulled out PTI's Botanical Blocks IV, and decided to color the poinsettia with pencils on darker cardstock.  I stamped it with versa-mark, colored it in and over-stamped it again with versa-mark for heat embossing.  Funny thing...colored pencils have wax in them so this was not a good idea. The color melted into the card stock when I heat embossed the image.  So I just recolored it.  Lesson learned.

November

For this month's  calendar page, I used the Gina K designs stamp set again.  I loved this wheat used as a silhouette against a blazing orange and red sky.
