Big Hugs

Hello-

One more time for the tulips.  This time with some pencil on dark gray cardstock.  My friend Michele at I Card Everyone had left a comment that she was itching to color the tulips white.  That inspired me to do just that...and to send the card off to her as a thank you for the inspiration.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Congratulations

Hello-

Today's card is very special.

I made it for my Dad and his new Bride to celebrate their wedding.  With the world situation being what it is, we won't be there in person, but thanks to his bride Dianne, we'll be viewing the ceremony via the web.

This stamp comes from my bin of new stuff, and is from Stampin Up. The wedding colors are cream and purple.  I did my best to match. The cake was stamped and colored with copics, then fussy cut. Pearls were added to the flower centers and some Spectrum clear glitter marker over the blooms.  The cake was mounted on top of an embossed panel.  The sentiment was heat embossed on vellum and added at an angle to accentuate the line of the cake top and flowers.

Hubs and I dressed in our wedding finery to "attend" the wedding.

So Congratulations to Dennis and Dianne,  may your happiness and love today grow ever on.

Thanks for visiting.

With Love

Hi there,
This is my second post today, a bunch of lovely Penny Black Tulips, a stamp out of my new stuff bin.

They were stamped on watercolor paper with versafine black onyx ink, then water colored using distress ink markers.  The sentiment is also from Penny Black.

Deck The Halls

Hi There -

I finally made use of my odd sleeping hours...I mopped the kitchen floor and made a few cards and I am about to go take a nap...or more likely my main sleep for the day about 5 hours.  At some point I will naturally get back to a "regular" sleep schedule, but forcing it does nothing but extend the vampire hours.

This quick card is for CAS Christmas card challenge, where the theme is Christmas Song.

I love this light string and song title sentiments in this set Festive Greetings from WPlus9.

Thanks for visiting.

Hello

Hi there-

I'm still forcing the mojo...this one felt a little better as for creative flow.  It took me about 2 hours when normally it would take half that time.  I rarely spend more than an hour on a card; that is my attention span and my patience limit. Sometimes it shows and sometimes it doesn't.

Another stamp set out of my NBUS bin, though it is a 2 year old stamp WPlus 9's Modern Anomones. The sentiment comes from CTMH.  The inspiration for the card comes from two challenges:  CAS on Friday (black, white and 1 color) and Just Us Girls (square card w/1 square).

I cut my base at 4.25 x 8.5 inches, scored and folded it.  I cut a white square just a bit smaller 4.125" and stamped in pale ink the anemones in the center so I could preserve the remainder for a mat piece.  I colored the blooms no line style with copics.  Then I stamped them again in versamark and white heat embossed them.  Fussy cutting next, and then some leaves were heat embossed on the black square which was cut at 4 inches.  I used an embossing buddy and after the embossing was heat set I used a microfiber cloth to get rid of the white haze the embossing buddy left on the card stock.  I  added the sentiment put the layers together, and added the pearls last.

Sympathy

Hello -

These days the creating is forced.  Tonight I picked 3 challenges, looked in my card bin and made two sympathy cards since I have zero in my stash.  I don't like creating them for needs.

I tend to like botanicals for sympathy cards, and oddly today - green which isn't a favorite color of mine.  But I do like these cards.  I hope they sit a good long time in my stash.

This card goes to Case this Sketch:

This card goes to Just add Ink and Watercooler Wednesday.

I thank you for stopping by, and hope you are all staying safe and finding some time to be creative.

Smiles

Hello-

Seems like its been ages since I sat down and actually colored, or made a card. The stay at home orders are getting to me. If there was an end in sight I could work around it...I do not do well in limbo. I like to plan...and you just can't plan in limbo.  I was happy to get some cleaning done and the laundry is in the works as I color.

This one is for my Dad and will be visiting several challenges:

Nbus #13, Time Out, Addicted to Stamps and More.

This stamp is out of my new stuff bin, its been there maybe two years, so its high time it came out. Its from Newton's Nook and is called Newton's Bird Bath.  We have a deep green one in the backyard, and I love watching the birds and squirrels taking a dip.

The other new item is the stencil from Simon Says Stamp, called Folk Dance.

Twofer 26

Hello -

Its time for the April Twofer Challenge #26.  Darnell has chosen the prompt of  Rain or Umbrella.

I just picked up a new Stampin Up set called Under My Umbrella, so I was eager to play with it.

There are a few rules to play along with Twofer:

As usual once I pick my stamp, die or stencil I sketch a couple of layouts to make sure they are different designs.  If I didn't I would likely make two very similar cards.

I'm clearly not a draw-ing sort, but my scribble place holders work for me.  I stamped the images and colored them with copic markers. They were punched out then adhered to the focal panels and lastly mounted on to the card bases.

My light box is somewhat small to squeeze two cards in
so below are the cards individually.

I hope to see your rain or umbrella cards in the gallery this month.  The challenge closes on the 24th.

Thanks for visiting.

Better with a friend

Hello-

Today I plucked another stamp and die set from my bin of NBUS (term coined by Darnell of  DJ Kard Kreations stands for "Never-Before-Used-Schtuff."  Altenew's Build-a-Flower Triumph Tulip, the sentiment is also new from CTMH Sentiments and Stitches.

I'll be submitting this card to the following challenge galleries:
The Flower Challenge (Spring or Autumn)
Watercooler Wednesday Challenge (Feminine twist)
NBUS (Darnell has created a stand alone blog for posting NBUS creations! Yay.)

Happy Easter

Hello-

My friend Peggy and I had another face time crafting date...and she had mailed me a cute Neat and Tangled Easter stamp set.

The design came to be as I stamped the image on two ends of a piece of watercolor card and the egg tops were too close together for me to cut them straight across...but what a great happy accident. I love  the angle of the focal panel.

I am submitting this card to If you give a Crafter a Cookie and Inspired by Challenge.

Easter Greetings

Hello -

In panic mode about my Easter cards...I decided to play with a freebie from Gerda Steiner Designs.  I opened it in photoshop elements, and added the color to the background and the egg leaving everything else white.  I sized and printed the images, then added colored pencil to the bunnies for shading and a bit of pinky sweetness in their ears.  Lastly, I die cut them and mounted them on full sized A2 card fronts.  Cute and quick, just what I needed for my crafty girls group.

This one is just for fun, no challenges.  Thanks for stopping by.

No Sentiment

Hi there-

I have had a difficult time making cards the last few weeks.  I made a few Easter Cards, nowhere near the amount I usually make and its getting to be time to mail them.  So fewer will be mailed this year.  I am hoping after these are mailed and I get done with my secretarial duties for hubs this month I can get back to a creative place and make some cards with regularity.

I hope you are all doing well and keeping appropriate social distances along with recommended hygiene habits.  Hubs and I are doing well with the stay at home requirements.

Okay so on to the card, this is a very quick card.  A simple stamping of a color wash, and then a die cut placed on top.  I am submitting this clean and simple card to Addicted to Stamps,  The Card Concept, AAA Cards, and Addicted to CAS.

The wash stamp is from Stampin Up and the die cut is from Simon Says Stamp.  It was in my new items bin, so one more to file as used.

March CCC

Hello -

My card is going to Gail in Norway this month.  I chose the colors and theme of flowers.  The stamp set is from my bin...which by the time this posts I hope is close to empty.  I am writing this as I mail the card, but the reveal is the second day of the following month.

I chose one flower from the MFT Wild Flowers set and used the colors of blue, green and yellow.  I hope Gail likes it.
