Catching Up

Hello!

Hubs and I just returned from a visit to Ohio for a graduation party and Father's Day.  Our drive out was longer than expected with traffic and downpours but we made it in just before midnight.  We spend a lovely week catching up with family and attending the functions we came to attend.   I saw my first fox in the wild, a cute little red one.  The sweet kitty we first met last summer has matured and had kittens in tow this visit.  I have a little collage photo I'll share at the end of my post.  I do some of my best sleeping in Ohio.  My nose is right under an open window and its nice and cool at night.  Our drive home was easy, the views were fantastic - light fluffy clouds on a blue sky and green everywhere.

After, catching up on blogs this morning, its time for the laundry; while it spins...I get to make some cards.  I have quite a few challenges to catch up on  in just a day or two.

I missed the last Twofer challenge, so that was one I wanted to be sure to enter before the 24th when it closes.
The little bees are my common element on each card.  One set was stamped on vellum and the other on the white card base.

I'm adding this one to Seize the Birthday.  Since I do have some of the card base showing through no toppings on this one.

I liked the simplicity of leaving the smaller bees black and white and just adding color to the larger one.  This one is buzzing by  Addicted to Stamps and More, Time Out Challenge, and Simon's Work it Wednesday.

And here is my little collage from our week away.

Thanks always for visiting and taking the time to comment.

Happy Purrthday

Hey there -

I just love this Newton's Nook Stamp.  The cat head shaped balloon makes me smile every time I see it.  The stamp is perfect for several challenges -

Inky Paws Challenge  - Colors Yellow, Teal, Green
Seize the Birthday - With Toppings - Balloons
AAA Birthday- Anything Goes
Work it Wednesday - SSS Pet Project

I stamped a grid stamp tone on tone on a yellow card base. Then I sponged ink in teal and yellow onto a card panel using Newton's Nook Bokeh stencils.  I felt they gave a feel of lots and lots of balloons.

I added smaller dots with a copic marker in green to fill in some white space.  Next, I stamped the sentiment and partially stamped the Newton Balloon image. After coloring, it was die cut with a circle and popped up against the bokeh inked panel and the card base.

There is a lot going on here for me and not my usual style.  But I think it is definitely festive as a birthday card should be!

Thanks for visiting!

Thanks

Hello~

I played with some brusho crystal colors today.  Of the three panels I made...I liked one...the other two were to dark and splotchy so I  diecut them with a Thanks die and cut out some of the leaves.

I made 3 cards and still have a few pieces left to make another if I wish.

These cards are going to Simon Says Stamps Work it Wednesday - Thanks, And also to Shopping our Stash - Tic Tac Toe, I used the third column Heat Embossing, Thank you and pigment powders.

I stamped several leaves, embossed them in platinum embossing powder, and then proceeded to add some brusho crystals.  I then softly spritzed water on the paper to allow the crystals to spread color.  I used a red, a green and a yellow.  I got red, green, yellow, brown and orange colors from that combination.

Thanks much for stopping by.

Best Birthday Fishes

Hello -

Today's card is going to be visiting a lot of challenges!

The backdrop is watercolored using a ziplock bag and the smooshing technique with Distress Markers.  I liked that I could flip it over and move the color around some more.  I'll be doing this again.

The stamps are Best Fishes from Simon Says Stamp, the die is from Avery Elle.

I am entering this to these challenges :

The Card Concept - Monochromatic Green

Hi There-

Green...huh.  I am not a green fan despite my love of flowers.  Though I have to say a lot of green makes its way onto my cards.

Here are lots of greens in the inspiration photo for  The Card Concept # 88.

I was taken with the gold accents to the various greens.  My card is kind of clean an layered.

So I gold embossed the SSS Cora Background stamp with Hero Arts gold ep. I used a Clarity stencil brush to add the HA Lime Green ink.  I die cut the bottom with PPP's scalloped borders 2 and mounted it to a SSS Green Leaf cardbase.  The sentiment is from MFT - More Essential Sentiments. And since the gold wasn't enough there is bit of green glitter paper under the sentiment.

And  of course this will be submitted to Simon's Work it Wednesday - Green.

This one is for a friend whose favorite color is green and she's Irish.  I thought the hearts and the pattern were vaguely reminiscent of a Claddagh.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
