07-14-24

 Greetings-

When I am away from my craft space for any length of time...I lose all "muscle memory" to whip together a card. It is infuriating, since I have little patience to begin with...and the heat is making me so cranky.

I tossed two cards in the trash (I rarely do that, I find a way to fix it.) Before I got the card I liked and wanted to submit to Freshly Made Sketches.

I did make a goof, but I think it just adds a bit of texture (my third panel wasn't big enough when I relooked at the sketch.

Next I played with Color Throwdown, and made a guy card...I have 4 left to make for the year, so I was happy with those suggested colors.

Happily I also used quite a few items from the new bin and it is actually getting a bit floppy...as in not stuffed so full the stamps, dies, and stencils don't move about.  Another win!

I need some more practice making cards before I forget altogether how to construct one.  These were a good start.  Thanks for visiting.

 Hello-

I was able to keep the mojo going and have two more cards. One for Color Throwdown and one for Freshly Made Sketches.

Thanks to Linda for the letterpress sentiment.  The pot and geraniums are from Greetery.

Next up, for Freshly Made Sketches:

Stamp set is Color and Contour from Stampin Up.

Thanks so much for stopping by...again!

 Hello-

I had another play with the Everything wonderful MFT card kit this time using the colors at Color Throwdown

It was hard to photograph due to the gray inking...next time I would leave it off or at least not gray.

Thanks for visiting.

05-31-23

 Hello-

Well it isn't the middle of the night and I am at my craft desk.  We'll see how it goes...I'll probably conk out at dinner time.

I'm still tackling the new stuff.  Today two die sets from Pink Fresh Dainty Blossoms and Noteworthy frames.  CAS Colours and Sketches has a double this week-both a color and sketch brief.

Super happy and bright colors for this one.  The cardbase and envelope were already printed, I added the off set stamped and die cut panel and the diecut stems.

I made another card inspired by the colors at Color Throwdown.  I just got the Everything Wonderful Card Kit from MFT, and I had a play with it.  I always thought I didn't have the patience for stitching with floss on cards, but these little flowers are done before I get fed up...lol.

The card base is from the Stampin Up Teacup set I got on clearance. Love that the envies are already decorated for me. This green stripe was perfect for the challenge.

I think that is it for me today.  The eyelids are getting heavy.  Thanks so much for visiting.

04-02-23-2

 Hi
I am back with a card for three challenges: Color Throwdown, Freshly Made Sketches and Tic Tac Toe.

I used the colors from color throwdown, the sketch from freshly made, and florals/foilage blank pastel colors from the center ttic-tac-toe row which all came together for this card.

I used Reverse Confetti's Sending Smiles stamp and die sets.

Thanks much for visiting.

10-1-22

WOW, how did it become October so fast?

For those of you in the path of Ian, hope you made it through the storm with little or no damage sending prayers and good thoughts.

Its a special day today, the first Saturday in October - World Card Making Day...

Peggy and I are face-timing making some cards to celebrate the day.

The first card I tackled was inspired by both Can You Handle the Pressure and Tic Tac Toe Challenges.

The card panel was dry embossed with the Stampin Up EF Layered Leaves.  I added fall colors of orange,  yellow, red and green to the embossed areas. To finish I added a sparkling copper ribbon from SU as well, and die cut a SSS sentiment which was mounted on vellum and adhered to the ribbon. A few copper gems and this one was finished. For Tic Tac Toe I used the upper row, for Can You Handle the Pressure the theme was embossing folder with a twist of leaves.

Please Grab Our Badge

Have you seen the colors at Color Throwdown?  Wow so eye catching so you know I had to play along.

The pumpkins are from Lawn Fawn dies, I added a sparkling blue ribbon over a cream one. The cardbase is cream, and the focal panel is kraft.

I think its time for lunch, I can smell the chili I put on this morning.  I'll probably still make a few cards later on, we'll see.

Enjoy your day.

Thanks for visiting.

11-18-21

 Hello-

Another card with those gorgeous colors at Color Throwdown, and using the sketch at Fusion for this card.

The stamp set is from Simon Says Stamp. The embossing folder is from WRMK.  Three ornaments were stamped and 1 was embossed with a sentiment.  I cut a strip off the embossed panel (Thank you Greta)  so that it allowed the left side of the cardbase to be plain and flat. The ornaments were assembled after die cutting and gold cord and bows were added to finish the card.

Thanks much for stopping by.

 Hello-

This Christmas day will mark a milestone anniversary of my Mom's passing.

I miss her every day, still.

She loved angels and she would have loved this card.

This card was inspired by her love of angels and the color combination at Color Throwdown

The angel die is from Simon Says Stamp as is the sentiment.

10-27-21

 Hi All-

The colors at Color Throwdown and the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches inspired this card.

Once again I grabbed those fabulous leaf stamps from SU (Forever Fern), along with PinkFresh Studios Mini Slimline Essentials dies, The Greetery's Autumn die, 3 flat sequins, Simon Says Stamp ink in Orange Soda and Dark Chocolate and their square sayings die, and an ink blending brush. I cut the base card, folded it, added the first layer of a die cut panel. Then cut the second layer along with the openings.  I figured out where the openings would be and added some blended ink. The top panel is added via foam tape and the stamped and die cut leaves were placed as if they were growing out the openings.  The sentiment is 2 layers of Kraft (there were left overs) and 1 layer gold mirror cardstock. Three flat sequins were added one to each window.

I am kinda crushing on this card...

Thanks for visiting, I appreciate that you take time to say  hi.

10-16-21

 Hi there -

I still had stamps and dies and a total mess all over my desk including the ink cubes in blues and browns. I so loved the color combo over at Color Throwdown, that I had to make another card.

I'm also still playing with the Greetery stamps and dies Floral Delicacy and Deco Dies and Everyday Lables. I used Altenew's inks in Espresso, Rocky Shore, Iceberg and Eastern Sky.

Thanks so very much for visiting.

10-9-2021

 Hello-

Its so hard coming up with a blog post title. So often I used the sentiment.  I've decided to just use the publishing date.  Easy -- less to think about.

I've missed playing along at Freshly Made Sketches; it seems as if the week just flies by and I miss it. The sketch this week is below.  I am using a new stamp set from Close to My Heart called Ooh la la Macarons. While I have never tasted a macaron they look so delicious.  As a child I loved meringue candies so I'd probably like a macaron.   Looking out in the web land, it seems macarons are often monochromatic, with the filling and the cookie the same color...though I found a few with white centers.  I loved the look of the white centers and went with that but left my card in a monochromatic theme.

I clear heat embossed the image using versamark and clear powder.  After adding some more color to the colored cardstock with pencils, I fussy cut the image and used the die to cut a shadow layer. I added white lace stickles over the white penciled centers for texture and just a bit of glitz. They really look yummy!

Are you itching for a sweet bite?

Another challenge that seem to fly by for me is Color Throwdown.  I love this week's colors of Orange, Brown and Gray.  Those are fab colors for a fall card - for sure.

I actually forgot how much I love this Stampin Up set called Forever Fern. I love the etched looking leaves that are on rubber and stamp beautifully every time. There is a stamp of random dots included in the set that I love.  I thought it added a nice edge to the leaves. Ink colors were Burnt Orange (SSS), Dark Chocolate (SSS) and Charcoal (HA).

Thanks very much for taking time to come by and visit.

Happiest of Birthdays

 Hi There.

I will never forget where I was when I first heard of the bombings on the radio in my car...or where I was when I saw the first images of the horror...at a client's location.  I won't forget how the nation came together on September 12th.  Sadly it took less than 20 years for that unity to devolve.

Today, I made a card for both Freshly Made Sketches and The Color Throwdown.  These two challenges together give you a design and a color combo. The rest should be easy...

I used the SSS Autumn Splendor die (snatched up from clearance) cut several times and stacked.  Initially I used the panel and the outline as a mask to add color in the open spaces of the die.

Thanks very much for stopping by!

Sympathy

 Hello-

No sympathy card is fun to make, and especially not those for the furry family members. This is for a friend who recently lost her pup.

I was inspired to use the colors from Color Throwdown. They seemed perfect for the mood of the card.

Thanks for visiting.
