Happy Holidays

Hi there -
I'm still dragging on the mojo front.

However, the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, along with the Muse projects at both Muse and Muse Christmas Visions all came together for me instantly.

The catalyst -- die cuts my friend Betty sent me.  I immediately saw the card I wanted to make in my head.

Its a bit tough to see, the card base is dry embossed with a linen type texture, the diecut window is from SSS, the sentiment is from MFT.

I was inspired by:
FMS- The sketch
Muse- the layers, color and texture
Muse Christmas Visions - color and layers and diecuts

Muse 284

Hi there -

Popping in with a quick card for Muse.  I loved the bold red with the black and white in Michelle's card.

I stuck with that same color combination, but in a more layered style which is not my norm.  I think my reds make the amaryllis look quite velvety.  Its a bit wonky, I know.  I still like the card and am submitting it.

Muse 283

Hello

Its been a crafty Saturday and this is my third post today.  Kim Heggins is our Muse this week her card is below.   While I have the stamp set Kim used, I couldn't completely case her card.  So I just 7/8's cased it using kitty cats.

Her design makes for a darling patterned card, so I had to go along with it.

Grateful

Hello

Another early morning crafting session with some techniques I rarely use.

I started with watercolor paper.  This new to me Penny Black stamp was colored upon with Tombow markers.  I spritzed the stamp lightly and then stamped it down onto the paper.  I stamped the leafy area first then using the same technique the flowers using an orange and a deep yellow.  I dried the entire image with a heat tool.

Once dry I prepped it with powder so I could clear emboss over the image to give it some texture and protect it. Once the image was clear embossed, I added some broken china distress ink with a brush to add a bit of color to the back ground.  I then spritzed the entire panel with a clear shimmer spray.  Once it dried again, I die cut the panel to fit a square card.  I added a sentiment to finish the card.

I am entering this card to the following challenges :

Muse 282- I was inspired by the loose color of Tracey's blooms
CAS Mix UP for September - stamping with markers, heat embossing, ink blending with a brush, resist, die cutting, and spritzing.
Addicted to Stamps 309 - CAS
Time Out 118- Photo Inspiration - I love the shades of orange and yellow in the photo

Many Thanks

Hi there ~

This is one of my last of what I consider my new summer stamp sets. I've been trying to get through them by the end of this month.

This card is going to Muse - I was inspired by the leaf branch and the birds, Addicted to Stamps and More- Anything Goes and Freshly Made Sketches for the layout. Coloring was done with copics.
(RV00, 02, 21; BG01,02,05; Y04,08,18)  The inks I used were memento for the birds and Versamark for the sentiment.

The stamps and bird dies are from Pretty Pink Posh and the leaf die is from Simon Says Stamp.

Muse 278

Hi There

It's been a busy week.
I went to bed.
I didn't get a Muse card made.
I slept.
And then I woke up. WIDE AWAKE woke up. Not roll over and go back to sleep woke up.
2:51 AM
It obviously bothered me that I didn't get a Muse card made. So I set about getting one made. It's been in my head most of the week, time eluded me.

I used Hero Arts Unicorn Ink and white Hero Arts embossing powder. The stamp set is Mama Elephant Water Blooms  and I added the drawn in frame with a white uniball gel pen.

Here is Anita's Muse card:

I was inspired by the flower clusters and the colored panel with white embossing.

3:36 am time to go back to bed.  Thanks for visiting.

Muse 275

Hi there~

I love playing at Muse, there is always a fun card for inspiration.  Kim's card is below.

I don't have the stamp she used, but I recently got another set from Stampin Up that I think I will have a lot of fun with.  My bestie just had surgery and this card is on its way to her.

Here is Kim's card.  I was inspired by the lady and the general encouragement of the card sentiment.

Best Birthday Fishes

Hello -

Today's card is going to be visiting a lot of challenges!

The backdrop is watercolored using a ziplock bag and the smooshing technique with Distress Markers.  I liked that I could flip it over and move the color around some more.  I'll be doing this again.

The stamps are Best Fishes from Simon Says Stamp, the die is from Avery Elle.

I am entering this to these challenges :

Muse 273

Hi there  ~

It always bugs me when I miss out on playing with Muse.  I woke up this morning and knew I had a couple of hours before the link closed.

I pretty much cased Anita's lovely card, but I inverted the black and white.  It was an experiment and I wanted to see how those distress oxide inks would work on black cardstock.

I thought the colors did well on the black cardstock.  Its a bit dramatic, and I have to confess that I like the Muse much better - its cleaner, brighter and more summery.   I do not regret testing my idea though!

Anita's Card is below.

Hey Friend

Hey Friend ~

After taking the Altenew class, I found myself at a bit of a low point creativity wise.  I think because those classes are so intense for me, I need a bit of a break afterwards. My vampire hours don't help either.

Here is my card:

I started with the prompt from Double D Challenges - Butterflies, and then used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for the basic design, I added a frame element for AAA Cards as well.  My colors were inspired by Muse.

Muse 271

Hello -

I am coming in at the last minute again to play with Muse.  Kim has provided a darling card full of pups.  I was inspired by all the pups, and I have a cat stamp that is of the same type.

I stamped off the whole stamp, cut off the top portion - then used that as a mask as I inked up the bottom half of the stamp so I didn't have a full page of cats.

This one is going to my Dad of course.  One of his cats went missing a week ago...but made his way home 3 days later with an injury.  Neither my Dad nor the Vet was sure what happened to him, but he's at home. Hes not happy with the cone head but he needs to leave his stitches alone.

Below is a photo of Jack about a year ago.  He was watching my hair and makeup routine.

Coloring on Dark Cardstock

Hi there!

Another card with Altenew's Painted Flowers.  This time using just the sketchy outline, and then coloring the interiors with prisma color pencils.

I started with a light coat of white, then added two similar tones for the leaves and petals.

The design is inspired by the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches, and the technique is inspired by Tracey's card at Muse. Both inspiration icons are below.

Muse and Addicted to Stamps and More

Hi there:

Tracey's darling card at Muse this week got me working on a card for a friend recovering from surgery.  I was inspired by the cute critter, the center placement and the popped up panel on Tracey's card.

Images are from Newton's Nook and I used simple copic coloring. The outer die is from MFT.

Since I used markers  I am also submitting to Addicted to Stamps and More, Make your Mark.

More Pink

Hi there, we are having a heat wave! In the high 80's and low 90's.  It feels like I am back in So Cal, since the humidity is low too.

After running errands, I had some time to sit down and make a few cards this evening.

This card was inspired by Fusion Card Challenge, Cupcake Inspiration, and Muse and will be entered to all three challenges. I stamped the Avery Elle Floral Bouquet stamps and leaves for alcohol marker (color-it) coloring.  I colored them very simply with two colors each. Afterwards I fussy cut and darkened the edges with a black marker.   I mounted the flowers as doubles for dimension.  The cover-plate is quilted by Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

From Fusion I took the sketch, and from Cupcake I loved that front double pink shade, from muse I was inspired by the colors.

I had stamped quite a few flowers and leaves, so I had some left over for this card which will also go to the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and Muse.  The cover plate and sentiment are both from PTI.

ETA: I was a bit confused that my cards didn't show at the Muse gallery.  Tonight I figured it out. I linked them to Addicted to Stamps and More, on their photo week. I got an honorable mention for the first card. I often have several challenges open when I prepare my blog posts, I must have forgotten to add this one in to my post.

Here is the lovely graphic.

A kind word

Hello friends!

This card had to sit a few days to percolate.  I had a idea of how I wanted to use the Muse card, but it took a few tries until I was design happy.  It also took some inspiration from a couple of other challenges as well.

From Muse, I took the colored card base, and the partial fussy cutting as well as the scalloped card edge. From Inspired by Challenge, the lovely flowers and the color of the scarf inspired me. And as I used a die to cut my scalloped edge and my stamp is from Altenew, I am going to enter this to Die Cut Diva's anything goes as well.

Muse 261

Hi there,

Its time for another early morning card...or maybe a late night one.  I see the Muse card Monday mornings and often times its late Sunday and I have no energy left for a card.

The inspiration I took from Tracey's Muse card below included her darling bouquet of flowers popped up on the card front and her die cut sentiment.  I used similar colors and zig markers as well.  I didn't have a die for the DNami bouquet, but it fussy cut fairly easily.  My sentiment die is from SSS.

Thanks much for stopping in.
