Hello -
Tonight I played with Simon's new #Stamptember stencil Tumbling Leaves, Scattered Straw and Tumbled Glass distress inks, a new SSS Thanks die, SSS stitched rectangle and my neglected Nuvo drops.
The inks were sponged through the stencil with both a light hand and a heavy hand to vary the intensity of the colors. After completing the panel all items were added to a yellow cardbase.
I am adding this card to three challenges - all three have Anything Goes as the theme.

Best Birthday Fishes
Hello -
Today's card is going to be visiting a lot of challenges!
The backdrop is watercolored using a ziplock bag and the smooshing technique with Distress Markers. I liked that I could flip it over and move the color around some more. I'll be doing this again.
The stamps are Best Fishes from Simon Says Stamp, the die is from Avery Elle.
I am entering this to these challenges :

Just Us Girls - Trend Week Watercolor Background
Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge - Summer Time
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Summer Fun
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Fun in the Sun
Simon Says Stamp - Work it Wednesday

Thanks so much for stopping by!

More Merry and Bright
Every once in a while a stamp set comes along that I cannot stop playing with. Usually for me it is a floral stamp set, I love flowers. So imagine my surprise to find myself absolutely in love with Simon Says Stamp's Merry and Bright designed by Kristina Werner. They were deigned for the December card kit. I was happy to see that I could buy just the stamp set at the same time the kit was released.
I love the images, and I could color them all day long and all week long. I have been coloring them alot and this is hands down my favorite stamp this season, maybe even this year!
I am submitting these two to Simons Flicker Challenge Make it a Happy Holiday.
After coloring the images and matting them, I decided they needed a bit more sparkle...so I dug out the stickles. I'd forgotten how much fun they can be!

Watercoloring
Today is/was National Coloring book Day. I grabbed my zig markers as well as a page from the Painterly Days Flower Watercoloring book and took them along to my crafty Tuesday group. This was my first time trying a coloring book. Most I have seen have such small images it is tough on my aging eyes. This book, though has larger images.
Here is the 1/4 page I water colored.
Here is the card that resulted from my favorite portion of that quarter page. I added Sending and Hugs from Simon Says Stamp's Sending die, and Sending and Wishing stamp set. I stacked the black die onto two cream colored dies offset in both directions to make sure that die stood out against the painted background.
I am submitting this card to two challenges - Anything goes at the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group. It's their 50th challenge. The second challenge is Casology Week 209- Watercolor. I am not sure there is quite enough "white" space, but this is a simple card.

Sketch and Color Challenges
Hi today's card combines the Retro Sketches #170 sketch, and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group Challenge #22 Colors of the Rainbow.
I grabbed those fabulously rich in pigment Kuretaki Gansi Tambi water colors and made a diagonal rainbow. I put it aside to dry, and worked on the other elements of the sketch, some white twine, a vellum white embossed sentiment by Simon Says Stamp - Big Scripty Greetings (I have to say these are fabulous for this purpose, they are wide letters lots of places to hide glue!). I wanted to make my water color background feel very artsy, so I die cut it with the Spellbinders Deckled Rectangle Die. I grabbed a few coordinating sequins and matted it on black for an extra bit of pop.
Thanks for stopping by.
