01-04-23

 Hello-

Its a bit dreary outside, but it was a joyful time in my crafty space this afternoon.

This gorgeous bloom is visiting Altenew's January Challenge along with Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge for something new. This is a new stamp set in my stash.

The image (Gracious Peonies) was stamped and colored with:
YG 03, 05
RV21, 13, 14

A double layer of the die cut Hello (Flower Arrangement dies) is set upon the fussy cut image adhered to a pink card base. I added a bit of the image to the envelope flap as well.

Inspiration Challenge 2023 01 SQ Opt 2

Its been quite a while since I have felt mojo. I posted fewer than 70 cards last year.

This week after taking several breaks in the last few months, I am again excited to make cards.

Coloring this card, really brought back my love for florals -- which I haven't played with much the past two years.  I'm also trying to tie in the envelopes to the cards as I make them.  Some of you are really great at embellishing the insides and the envies...you all have inspired me to do a bit more. Thank you too for visiting.

 Hello-

More from the MFT card kit.  I am still in love with it.

This sweet little square card is going to Simon's Wednesday challenge and Addicted to Stamps and More.

I remembered why I don't like the regular slimline size cards anymore....they are a pain to photograph. This one is going to Festive Friday Challenge. (Green, Encouragement, and Birds)

Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate

 Hi There -

Our nephew has a birthday in early July and he is fond of cats. Keeping that in mind I came up with this card.

I used the fireworks from Pretty Pink Posh and Mini Meows from MFT to make this birthday card.  I'm not sure a cat would stand still for holding a sparkler, but cards allow for artistic license.

This card is visiting Simon's Wednesday Challenge, and Tic TacToe challenge using the bottom row.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Another Birthday

Hello-

If you haven't tried video crafting with a friend I highly recommend it, even if its only for an hour or so.  For me its been tremendously helpful with the doldrums I had been having due to the stay in orders.

This card is going to the two challenges that inspired it: Tic Tac Toe  (right column punny sentiment, masculine and punched shape) and Simon's Wednesday Challenge - Animals.

My bloggy friend Leslie sent me some stamp offs of goats along with their coordinated punny sentiments.  I can't remember the illustrator I tossed the information in a fit of organizing. LOL.

The card is going to my BIL, he and his wife raise goats, so this could get a chuckle.  The image is copic colored, the sentiment is punched using a Creative Memories double punch - one for the sentiment and one for the mat.

Thank You

Hello and Happy New Year...

2020 wow, that feels weird.

I ran out of thank you cards - and that is a blessing that I have thank you's to send out.  I took some inks and a new Altenew stamp set (Wildflower Garden) with me to  Ohio where hubs and I spent Christmas with his family. It was a lovely relaxing 10 days...but not once did I open that crafty bag to play.  I read books, cooked a bit, enjoyed family time, and slept.  YES, slept  a normal schedule and it seems to be continuing now that we are back home.

I made 9 cards assembly line style (thank goodness for the misti), and it took me half a day.  I really had a hard time getting back into the cardmaking after being away from it for almost 2 weeks.  The sentiment is placed on 3 layered oval punches.

I am entering the card to these challenges:
Challenge Up your Life - Anything Goes
Die Cut Divas - Something New
Double D Challenges - Use a punch
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Something New

Autumn

Hello -

Autumn, my second favorite season following Spring. Winter ranks third and summer - oh am I glad it is on its way out.

Today, I hope to play in several challenges... to start things off the card below will be visiting galleries at AAA Cards, Shopping Our Stash and Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge.

For this one layer card I've used a cream colored card base; added a brown heat embossed sentiment from Winnie and Walter. Then surrounded it with some colorful oak leaves (gold embossed and inked up with several distress oxide inks in fossilized amber, candied apple, peeled paint and wild honey.)

Happy Mothers Day

Hello-

I finally got out the Japanese Mum from Altenew for some play time.  It is so striking.
Several challenges inspired this card along with the pink loving recipient!  The challenges are Shopping our Stash,(May Flowers), Simon Says Stamp  (For a special lady), Die Cut Diva's(flowers) and Casology (Mother)

I used the Cherry Blossom set of inks for the mums, and the original greens from Altenew for the leaves.  The lower bloom was attached flat to the card base, the upper was popped up with foam tape.

A little ink blending at the bottom of the card front was my starting point, then I added two blooms and the leaves. Last touches - the Sentiment from CTMH and a few clear gems.

Holiday Blessings

Hi there-

I used the Penny Black Die Manger.  I wanted that manger to be the focal point so the cards I ended up making several copies of are very simple.  I tried dressing it up a bit, but I like it best on the white.

I am submitting this to the Penny Black Saturday Challange - Its Anything Goes or Christmas/Wintertime. Since the die is new to me  I am also submitting to Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday, and at least for us in the northern hemisphere, Christmas is in the wintertime so I am also adding this to Die cut Diva's. I am also submitting to Time Out Challenges.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Thanksgiving

Hi there

I've been in a bit of a slump card wise - its easier to do something else like chores and that usually never happens.  I have to address my Fall/Thanksgiving cards, send some die cuts to friends and then maybe my mojo will return full force.

In any case, I have a card for Case this Sketch and Simon's Wednesday challenge.

Stamp set is PTI's Autumn Adornments, inks are all SSS  (Dark Chocolate, Orange Peel, School House Red and Leaf Green.  Card panel and base are Michael's 110lb vanilla card stock.

Thanks for visiting.

Autumn Greetings

Hello

Another challenge beckoned me.  The fabulous fall colors over at Color Throwdown had to be played with.

I started with a full sheet of SSS Khaki cardstock. I cut it down for 1 card base and 2 panels.  One panel was diecut with a stitched edge and I cut three of Lawn Fawns stitched leaves out of that panel.  On the second panel I cut full leaves and the sentiment strips.

I colored the leaves with copics, because the coloring was on the khaki cardstock the colors seem deeper to me.  I covered the leaves once dry with wink of stella and then clear embossed them for some sheen.  I placed the back into the die cut space but allowed the smaller leaves to lay upon one another.  The sentiment were added along with some sequins in fall colors.  Then the panel was popped up on the card base with fun foam.

I am entering the card to two challenges.

Hello Fall

Hi There -

I still have two flower stamps that need to be used before I'll let myself touch the fall stamps and dies.

To make this feel like fall - I used a good strong orange by mixing orange, red and yellow Arteza Real Brush Pen colors full strength on Bristol paper heat embossed with the Hero Arts Nasturtium stamp.

To add texture, I have several layers on the card - the base, the Avery Elle Cover-plate, some inking, and finally the image mounted on foam tape.  The card also had 3 shades of white card stock also adding to the textural feel.  My sparkle bits are the flat sequins added to the center of the card.

I am adding this card to a couple of challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Fall/Autumn

Just Add Ink - Texture

There was another challenge - but it requires creating an account to use the linking which no doubt will require that the linking company has access to who knows what.  So that one is off my list.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Birthday

Hi there-

One of the crafty gals has a birthday this month and she loves RED.  When I saw the colors at Color Throwdown  I knew those would be the colors for this card.  I just used MOSTLY red.

I am using two Simon Says Stamp stamps - Big Scripty Greetings - the line weight is perfect with the flowers; and Center Cut Flowers.  The images and sentiment were clear embossed over versafine onyx black ink. The panel was die cut with a Lawn Fawn die. The image was colored with Arteza Real Brush Pens.

I'm also submitting this to Simon's Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hello

Hi there,

Here is my second card today.  I kept those distress inks on my desk and added worn lipstick and spiced marmalade to the squeezed lemonade for this TH Scribbles stencil card. The sentiment comes from Altenew, and the dies are from Simons and MFT.

I am submitting this to both Freshly Made Sketches and Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge - Distress It.

Sunshine

Hi There,

It has been a busy week sorting out a new printer and laptop. Both decided that their time was up almost simultaneously. I had a bit of a learning curve - my old laptop was 11 years old.  I was running Vista as my operating system. Windows 10 took some getting used to.  I am still discovering new things.  I haven't had time to delve into my new photoshop elements (old version 8 new version 18).

I hope to get several cards made to day, my browser has 9 challenges open that expire very soon.

I love this quote and I love it with squeezed lemonade distress in sponged over it.

I am submitting this card to two challenges :
Casology - Sunbeam
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Distress It

Thanks much for stopping by.

Blue Aqua Gray and white

Hi there

When I saw the luscious color combination at Color Throwdown, I had to play along.  The challenge icon is posted below.

I pulled out an older set that hasn't had nearly enough use, WPlus9's Watercolor Anemones.

The entire stamp image was stamped in gray.  The flowers were then separately stamped in shades of blue and aqua, then cut with the matching die. The MFT sentiment was white heat embossed and mounted over a sliver of silver glitter tape.

The panel was diecut and mounted onto a dark charcoal card base.

I think gems are making a comeback...at least in my book they are. I sprinkled a few tiny ones around.

I am entering this to two challenges -
Color Throwdown 502
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Diecut or Punch

Thanks so much for coming by!
