Hello-

I made it to the craft room again...I have several early July birthdays and the cards need to get to the mail.  This was inspired by The Card Concept Challenge Colors. The card's style is clean and layered.

Thanks so very much for visiting,

 Greetings,

WOW its June already.  I swear each year goes by faster that ever.

I have a birthday card for a July birthday, so there had to be fireworks and patriotic colors.

The fireworks are gold embossed, and the image is colored with copics in a neutral palet to let the red, white and blue come through.  I'll be sending this clean and layered birthday kitty off to Seize the Birthday and The Card Concept.

 Hello-

Hubs and I  have a tradition of writing one another a letter on our anniversary each year.  I have finished my letter and just made my card.

I have had the stamps and dies for more than a month...I'm just getting it done.

All are new and coming out of the cart for the first time.  (Waffle Flower Happy Anniversary, My Favorite Things Sweetheart, and The Greetery Fireworks background. )

I am sending this over to The Card Concept as a clean and layered card, I was definitely influenced by the colors.  And to Cupcake Inspirations where Anything Goes.  And I'll be adding it to NBUS's 50th challenge as well since it is created from all new stamps and dies.

Thanks so much for visiting.

 Hello-

I have two cards to share for two challenges:

This clean and simple anniversary card featuring MFT's  Tweet Memories is going to the gallery at The Card Concept. I chose the "B" challenge photo inspiration. The sentiment is a conglomeration of several sets.

Next up is a fun fold card for Four Seasons:

A combination of patterned papers and an SU stamp called Marigold Moments. I thought they could easily be carnations too...and I loved that spray of lilacs in the upper left corner of the inspiration photo.

I am having a hard time getting my muse going again after our mini get away. I still have to unpack one bag and we have been home a week.  I got half the laundry done last weekend, and am working on the other half now.  Since the weather has been getting nice, I am now obsessed with getting my winter closet swapped out for summer...and then there are the ever present delays in sleeping.  When I am awake and energized to work, hubs is slumbering and I can't bang around making noises. Hope to do some catching up today as I was awake 2 hours earlier than usual.

Thanks for stopping by.

 Hello again-

I honestly don't know where the time goes, though this week was my "work" week when I am helping hubs with his business.

I thought it would be a good day to make a few cards.

I started with the Card Concept challenge, I loved the colors used in the inspiration photo. I am going to call this style clean and layered, I think the inked background takes it away from clean and simple. The trees are an SU die and the blending is DOX inks in mustard seed, carved pumpkin, candied apple, and villainous potion. The sentiment comes from Close to My Heart.  I thought the finished card was also good for the gallery at Four Seasons- fall.

I liked Amy's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the design evolved into this along with some inspiration from Double D's Challenge - Oktoberfest, the tree colors in the upper left mood board drew me in.

The paper is from Stampin Up, the mouse in the leaves is from MFT, and the sentiment is from CTMH. It was fairly easy to round it out on a block to stamp inside the circle.

That's it for today, enjoy your weekend. Thanks so much for visiting.

 Hey There -

I am still trying to play with new stuff, as my bin is beyond full.  Today, I took out The Greetery's Spring Mix stamp, stencil and dies to make cards.  My thoughts are if you are going to use a layered stencil you might as well stencil several while you have the inks and brushes out.

I'll be sending some of these cards to The Card Concept, The Sisterhood of Crafters, and Addicted to Stamps.  All are the same design, different card bases and differing sentiments.

The above card is visiting :

After cutting the panel first, and then layering the inks on by stencil and blending brush, I tried one where I stenciled first then cut out the panel. I much preferred the stenciling then cutting approach.

Thanks much for visiting.

11-22-21

Hi...another start of the week. My agenda is still the same - finish those Christmas Cards.

I have a few cards for a few challenges, starting with The Male Room Challenge and Watercooler Wednesday.

Next up is Double D Challenges and Die Cut Diva's:

This is a mini slimline...and you know what...its the perfect size to pop a check into!

The stamp is an old beloved Hero Arts stamp, stamped once in the middle of the card then once on each end. Some light inking around the trees and then a double layer of the scalloped frame. Also inked the card base edges.

And my last card for this post is visiting Tic Tac Toe Challenge and the Card Concept.

For my clean and simple card I went with the top left to right bottom diagonal - Plaid, Wreath, Red.

Thanks so very much for visiting. Time to go cook.

 Hello-

I saw two sunflower challenges this week and I remembered the Flower Challenge wanted a shape to celebrate their 5th Birthday.  So This is the card that resulted from those bits of inspiration. Along with that challenge, the card will be visiting Double D, The Card Concept, and NBUS.

I broke out my new but never used Stampin Up Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and die set. I used only the sentiment from the stamp set, and used the dies for the remainder of the card.

I cut the solid sunflower from a So Saffron card base leaving just a bit of the die off the folded edge. I then cut the outline and center portions from a lighter yellow cardstock.  I used brown ink to darken the centers. A white circle was cut to fit inside the sunflower, as that is the shape portion for this card and that's where a little note can be written.  I cut the two leaves from Jade cardstock and then used a copic marker to darken the vein and outline portion of the leaves.  I had a left over part of a card base left over after cutting the flower outline, that became the background to my card along with a piece of gingham paper.  The sentiment was stamped on the left over So Saffron.

The only place this card opens is the sunflower, that is the shape for The Flower Challenge and I am calling this clean and layered for The Card Concept.

Thanks much for visiting.

 Hello -

Today I tired something new.  Jennifer McGuire recently showed using heat embossing and dry embossing together.  You can find her video here.

I actually used some older non deep 3d type folders, and silver pearl embossing powder for the panels. It worked out nicely.  I mounted the panels with their added stamped image to a card base of the same color as the embossed panel.

This card is visiting  Four Seasons.

This card is visiting The Card Concept, I was inspired by the
pumpkins and created this card in a clean and layered style.

This card is visiting Let's Squash It.

This card is my favorite...that penguin is so cute and its going to

This  technique takes some time, at least for me probably because I made 4 at the same time...now I am off to clean the folders and the brayer.

Thanks very much for visiting...have you tried this yet?

Edited to add the challenge icons:
