11-26-23

Hello-

The last push is on for the Christmas cards, and I have em all done.  Now to get them into their envelopes. I am going to take my time with that...I have some sewing projects I need to get done in the next week in time for shipping so that will be my focus.

This card is visiting CAS Colors & SketchesStamping Sensations and We Love Stamping.

I did take a bit of liberty with the sketch turning it to portrait vs landscape.

 Hello-

I feel like I completely missed out making summery cards...oh well I do love fall colors.

This card will visit the following galleries:

Stamping Sensations, Four Seasons, and Triple B.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up and the image is from my box of stuff sent to me and I have no idea of the manufacturer.

07-13-2023

 Hello-

I've been binging on television...Wimbledon in the mornings and early afternoons and then the WSOP Main Event poker tournament in the evenings until the wee hours.

I've got the tourney on now, up in my crafty space they are down to 25 from 10043 entrants.  So this will be a quick post. I die cut some blooms and did a bit of gluing while binging.

A die cut panel from a crafty friend...not sure who-in my cleaning and  organizing zeal I didn't think to add post it notes, but thank you just the same! The blooms are from MFT's newest card kit. The sentiment comes from Ellen Hutson.

I am adding this card to these galleries:

Triple B: July, We love Stamping, and Stamping Sensations...all calling for flowers.  And because the flower dies and the sentiment are new, NBUS.

Thanks much for visiting.

Gosh...3 cards in less than 24 hours and yet it seems like its been days.  This card will be going to the galleries at Stamping Sensations (no Option) and Color Hues (slate and orange).

I was playing with Tropical leaf (SU) again. I quite like the leaves in oranges.

 Greetings...how is it April already?

Today I did some inkblending on a one layer card with some masking along two edges.  This card is going to visit two challenges.  Stamping Sensations and Beautiful Blossoms.

I used Altenew inks in Sunkissed and Coral Bliss on both the inking and the Stampin Up blooms.  The stems are Evergreen, and black versafine for the Ellen Hudson Sentiment.  I love this style of card and its been a long time since I played with some masking and inking.

12-10-22

 Hey there-

I am hard at work getting those last few cards made. Today is my deadline.  So the post will be short.

Stamped image from Holiday Heights by Newton's Nook Designs, along with copic coloring and some fab SU paper and this card is made.

It will be visiting the galleries at Tic Tac Toe (first row snow/ice, layers, celebration) and Stamping Sensations taking the option of winter wonderland.

I have a couple more to make but they'll be takes on designs I have already shared.  I'll be taking the rest of the month off, but will make some blog visits as time permits.

Enjoy the holidays and I'll be back in the New Year!

11-18-22

 Hi There -

Back to the Christmas cards.  This card is for sticking in a gift card or check or cash. Its a fun fold I spied on You Tube here. Its made from a standard A2 side folding card scored at 1" and 4.25"s. Both scores are folded the same direction so you don't have to flip your card to get the fold clean.

the interior of the front flap is a lil pocket

I covered the card with some left over flocked vellum from stampin up, a bit of glitter tape and the holly leaves were from pretty pink posh along with the die to cut them out and add the frilly border.

I'll be linking these up at both We love stamping, and Stamping Sensations-- Christmas is the theme at both.

02-17-2022

Hello-

Its a nice day here, but I think the cold is coming back soon.  Today I am doing laundry and making a card or two. I was fascinated with the cards at CAS Mix Up Challenge - Faux Cloisonne. I have at least one jewelry piece that is Cloisonne so I had to try it out. I am also linking up at Stampin Sensations -February things with wings or tails.

I don't subscribe to any magazines, so I was at a loss.  Then the Costco Connection arrived.  Flipping through it, I found a charcuterie board and thought the section of grapes might work...

I powdered the page and stamped and cut it out roughly. Then using a piece of double sided tape sheet added a stiff piece of card stock behind it. I stamped with versamark added gold ep and heated it up. Now for me, the magazine paper was very static-y, so in the small spaces the ep was not quite so precise. But I think it looks cool. I fussy cut the dragon fly and finished the card with a center panel on a colored card base. I love this sentiment, that came in a SU set (Flowing Flowers).

Here is a close up of the dragon fly.

So I used a die cut, some stamping and the Faux Cloisonne technique for this card.

If you haven't already give it a try, it was fun.

11-13-21

 Hi There-

Its Saturday and my day has been filled with laundry, college football, and putting together this card after having spend days stamping and die cutting and fussy cutting the smaller pieces because I ran out of patience. I fell in love with this stamp after seeing Yana Smakula's card.  I did use it as a jumping off point for my design.

There are several challenges this will go visit: We Love Stamping, Stamping Sensations and The Flower Challenge.

This new Happy Poinsettia from Simon Says Stamp is a fun flower and has lots of options with the included greenery pieces. I was able to add lots of "leaves". The sentiment also comes from Simon Says Stamp. The die for the panel is Nordic Frames from The Greetery and the jewels are from Pretty Pink Posh. I bought them for summer cards and they never made a good match...until now. YAY.

The theme at We Love Stamping and Stamping Sensations is Christmas.

Thanks very much for visiting.

Ice Cream

 Hey there -

I admit to having been caught up in the Olympics.  So not a whole lot of cardmaking has been going on. Today is a mild softly raining day, and its perfect for cardmaking along with a bit of binge watching of MI-5, a British spy drama.

I used copics for image coloring and inks for the blended background. This is visiting both Addicted to Stamps and More - Make your Mark and Stamping Sensations - Any Occasion.

This is an unconventional birthday card in the sense that there is no "Happy Birthday" on the front. The birthday wishes are inside.  Cake isn't mandatory for Birthday celebrations.  I used to love a banana cream pie from Marie Callendar's when I lived in California.  An Ice Cream lover might prefer a big ole cone to celebrate the big day.

What's your favorite birthday celebration treat?

Thanks for visiting.

Thinking of you

 Hi-

I really tried embracing the slimline card style...and those cards just felt too bulky to me --- but I do love the mini slimline cards -- so much so I picked up a die set from Pinkfresh Studios.

I also like the fact that I can use 1 sheet of 8.5 x 11 inch paper to make the card base and a cover panel.

I wanted to try some no line coloring with pencils on Kraft.  So I stamped the image twice with soft sand ink from Hero Arts, then went on to color it with prisma color pencils with very sharp tips. I added a sentiment with versafine vintage sepia ink and mounted the panel with foam on to a matching cardbase.

My finished card is 6.25 by 3.25 and fits perfectly in a SSS mini slim line envelope.  I am submitting this sweet girly card to Stamping Sensations, the theme this month is for a lady.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Have a lovely weekend !

Delightful as you

 Hello-

I made this card around 8 this morning while face timing with Peggy, at 9 I went to bed having been up all night.  Now I'm just getting it together to post.

I have always loved tulips, and the new Mondo Tulip from Ellen Hutson is gorgeous and a breeze to color. This one is going to visit Stamping Sensations and The Flower Challenge.

This velvety color combo is Copic markers RV14, 04, 19, 69 from lightest to dark.

Warmest Wishes

 Hello-

One card for two challenges; blended background and colorful are the themes at Just add Ink and Stamping Sensations

I am not much for coloring people...beyond my skills. But these cute little PI gals from MFT are easy. This one is so cute - Peggy sent me some stamped and die cut images.  I'm this one will have to join my stash full time at some point.  Copic coloring, MFT dies for the snow drifts and Sugar Pea Designs for the sentiment.

Thanks so much for visiting.

More Peace

 Hello -

I still had that Center Cut Holiday Floral stamp out on my desk and I decided to play again with it with some non-traditional colors.  This was definitely a stamp worth the purchase.

The two cards will each visit  2 of these four challenges: Stamping Sensations -Christmas Flowers or Wreath,  Watercooler Wednesday - Occasions, The Flower Challenge - Add sentiment, and Little Red Wagon Non-Traditional Colors.

I started with some silver embossing and then used Karin markers and a waterbrush to color in the image. They were mounted on coordinating bases and I added a little bling.

This one is going to visit Stamping Sensations and The Flower Challenge.

Autumn

 Hello-

Tonight after watching football, I sat down to make a card which turned into two cards for two challenges each.

My first card was inspired by the Inky Paws Challenge (Colors) and AAA Cards (Design).

Newton is cozy in his pile of yellow, orange and purple leaves. There is also a halo of yellow inking around the image. The black sentiment is part of the set Newtons Autumn.

--------

My second card was inspired by Double D Challenges and Stamping Sensations.  The challenge at Double D is wreath and Stamping Sensations is Autumn Glory.

This wreath by Pretty Pink Posh is full of autumnal leaves, acorns, mushrooms and berries.
