Twofer Card Challenge 33

Greetings-

Its the 10th of the month so another Twofer Card Challenge is going live today.  This is our last challenge for the year, so we hope to see lots of you playing along.  Darnell has a couple of surprises for you including prizes this month.  Be sure to head over to the blog to find out.

Our prompt is:

If you've been a frequent visitor to my blog, you know I often start with choosing my stamp, die or stencil.   This month I am going with an old favorite holiday stamp set Star of  Light from Stamping Up.  My common element is the smallest star on the wreath.

In order to play by the challenge rules:

I sketch out two card ideas before putting the time and effort in to create my cards only to end up with two looking very much the same.  Here is my sketch for this month:

Below are my Twofers, both together and individually.

Thanks so very much for visiting....and I hope to see your Twofers in the Gallery.

Thanks for visiting.

Twofer Card Challenge 30

Greetings:

Can you believe that it is time for a new Twofer Card Challenge?

This month Darnell's prompt is Sun/Moon.

I have no moon stamps and 1 sun die and 1 sun stamp set.  I chose the sun stamp set,
the set is an old monthly kit stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

For the challenge, the rules are as follows:

After choosing the stamp set, I set about designing my two cards. I like to use sketches to make sure
I have two different designs before I put in the effort to make the cards.  I have in the past ended up
with two cards that were far to similar.

The two cards together.

and separately.

Thanks so much for visiting, and I hope to see your sun/moon creations in
the Twofer Card Challenge Gallery!

Twofer 29 Butterflies

Hello-

It's time for the next Twofer Card Challenge.  This month the prompt is Butterflies.

As usual I picked out my stamp set, Butterflies from Hero Arts/Sizzix.
The set contains 3 butterflies and a dogwood branch. Its a very old set, but I love it.

Remember for our challenge you need to follow the challenge rules below:

After choosing my stamps, I generally draw a sketch:

Here are the two cards together.

I hope to see your cards in the gallery this month!  Thanks so much for visiting.

Twofer Card Challenge 28

Time for another challenge at the Twofer Card Challenge.

This month's prompt is:

Before starting know the rules:

I always start with choosing my stamp, die or stencil.
For the first time I am choosing a stencil set -
Newton's Nook Designs Bokeh Stencil set.

My next step is to draw some sketches:

Here are my cards:

Here are the cards individually with details.

I taped off a square area on my card panel and began
inking in a bokeh effect. Once it was colored to my satisfaction,
I added a simple sentiment.

For my second card, I randomly traced the insides of several
of the circles on the bokeh stencil set.  I then colored them in either aqua
shades or red shades. A white heat embossed sentiment on
black cardstock added the final touch.

So what will you do this month with circles or bubbles?
Looking forward to seeing your entries at Twofer Card Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Twofer Card Challenge 27

Are ya ready for another Twofer Card Challenge?

A quick review of the rules:

This one was hard for me. Which is probably a surprise to many of you...I love flowers but trying to make two distinctly different cards with flowers when I have my go to design on most flower cards
almost on autopilot really made me glad I start my designs with sketches for this challenge.

My cards together:

and individually

I hope to see your flower Twofers over in the gallery this month.
Thanks for visiting.

Twofer 26

Hello -

Its time for the April Twofer Challenge #26.  Darnell has chosen the prompt of  Rain or Umbrella.

I just picked up a new Stampin Up set called Under My Umbrella, so I was eager to play with it.

There are a few rules to play along with Twofer:

As usual once I pick my stamp, die or stencil I sketch a couple of layouts to make sure they are different designs.  If I didn't I would likely make two very similar cards.

I'm clearly not a draw-ing sort, but my scribble place holders work for me.  I stamped the images and colored them with copic markers. They were punched out then adhered to the focal panels and lastly mounted on to the card bases.

My light box is somewhat small to squeeze two cards in
so below are the cards individually.

I hope to see your rain or umbrella cards in the gallery this month.  The challenge closes on the 24th.

Thanks for visiting.

Twofer Card Challenge 25

Hello -

Can you believe its time for another Twofer Card Challenge?  These months are flying by.

And this month's Prompt is:

If you've seen my Twofer Card Challenge design team posts before you'll know I start with my main piece (Stamp, Die, or Stencil).  This month is it is Sweetest Somebunny by MFT.

Next up comes the design, or layout, or sketch to make sure both cards are different.

I seem to digress a bit each time from the sketches by the time I am finished, but still maintain two distinctly different designs.  By moving the sentiment, I though the cards ended up being too similar.

I originally made these cards in November. Now in February, the similarity in the cards is still bugging me, so I made another card and changed up my Twofer from the sketches above.

So there is no sketch for the new card, but here it is in Twofer Style and individually.

Each Card Separately.

2nd Attempt Twofer.

Here are my original Twofers together. They look very similar. The bunny image is just moved and the sentiment remains below the main image. Not distinctly different.

Thanks so much for visiting, and I really want to see your creations in the gallery!
