Hello in Yellow

Hi there -

This morning I really enjoyed playing with Altenew's Book Club stamp and die.

I stamped it once fully, then just stamped portions of the two flower parts.  All stamped images were gold embossed for some shimmer and to contain the watercolor from Arteza real brush pens.   Once dry, I die cut the pieces.  It was really easy to line up the partial cuts as well.

Once all my pieces were dry, I heat embossed a hello and die cut it to fit into the center portion.  Next, I laid out all the pieces, and put a piece of press n seal over them to keep them in place --the odds of me recreating that perfect bunch is close to infinity.  Lastly, I put strips of be creative double sided tape across the back making sure all pieces were covered; then pulled the protective paper off and adhered the piece to a card front.  I am so please with the way this turned out.

These blooms are going to visit these challenges:

Encouragement

Greetings -

I have a fabulous bestie; we met in 1975 in junior high.  She's more than just a best friend, she is my sister  -- or as close to one as can be.  She knows all my secrets and shes my biggest fan.

She has her hands full with responsibilities.  So I knew that no matter what day this card landed in her mailbox it would be completely appropriate.  Love ya much Evelyn.

I am entering this one at AAA Card Challenge.  This image from Ellen Hutson is no where near my usual type of stamp.  I couldn't resist it, the sentiments are fun and it makes me laugh. You'll be seeing it again soon.

With Smiles

Hello -

I've been up awhile...my current sleep schedule is nuts. Three am to 6-6:30 am and then may be a nap mid-day 11ish for an hour or so, then my main sleep seems to be from 5:30 pm to 11 ish.  So early mornings, I can watch tv downstairs or make cards so I don't wake hubs.

This card is going to The Color Throwdown, Pink Orange and Yellow.  I used a couple of shades of each color on this whimsical card.  The die is Bloomin Cute from The Stamp Market. I cut all pieces 3 times, added a lighter shade to the solid pieces, and a darker shade to the open pieces of the flower only.  Two of the stems were de-leafed and one was cut shorter; I added them to the card base without coloring them to meet the challenge colors. I quite like how it turned out. The sentiment comes from Mama Elephant.

Thanks for visiting.

Last Minute CAS Cards

Hello -

Time has gotten away from me...mostly because of the vampire hours I keep I suppose.  I really wanted to play in both the CAS Mix Up Challenge and the CAS Stencil Challenge.  I was kinda bummed tonight as I was going to delete them from my list...but Yahoo thanks to the time zones I still had a couple of hours. I apologize to the DT's and coordinator of each challenge for the very late entries.

So here we go, one thank you card for each challenge because my stash is low and I am luckily suddenly in need of several.

My choices were Stamping my sentiment with Alcohol Lift pad and a stacked die cut.

I use a small dauber that I repeatedly pounced on the alcohol lift pad and then into the open stencil areas.  This stencil is from Hero Arts.  This panel is a combination of regular AI and AI pearl inks.

This one also goes to CAS on Friday-Stencil.

For your blog

Thanks so very much for visiting.

Hello

Greetings -

Its no secret that I am a cat person, I love dogs too---but if forced to choose it would be a cat.  Newton's Nook Designs has some adorable cat images.  I recently added a few stamp sets to my stash.  I am playing along with the Inky Paws Challenge #102, it is a sketch challenge.

The images were stamped and colored with copic markers.  The circular panel was watercolored with distress inks in mowed lawn and salty ocean. After the purrmaids and shells were colored, wink of stella was added to the tails and pink portion of the shells.

I just fell in love with these images I had to give them a play.

Thanks for visiting.

Snowflake

Hi there -

One more card before I head to bed.  The cue at CAS Christmas Card Challenge is Snowflake.

I stamped a simple snowflake with a sentiment, heat embossed it in silver and added some salty ocean distress ink with a brush.  A scalloped edge die cut the panel, and I mounted it onto a very pale bluegreen cardbase.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sail a brate

Hello -

I am waiting for it to cool off here. I haven't been outside for days. I cannot handle the humidity with the near 100 degree temps...give me that dry desert heat if I have to be in the heat.

I'm getting my card in at the last minute to Addicted to Stamps and Freshly Made Sketches.

The boat die and ocean waves stencil are from SSS and the Clouds stencil is from MFT.

Celebrate You

Hello -

Lately it seems that I only get to crafty stuff on the weekends...and I am retired.  Tonight I am playing along with Cupcake Inspirations, CAS Watercolor, The Flower Challenge and Color Throwdown.

This stamp is Altenew's Book Club. It's is meant for creating bookplates. I think the two small bouquets make for a wonderful embellishment around the sentiment space.

I stamped everything with versamark, added silver embossing powder to my bristol paper panel. Light gray and pink were added to the flowers and leaves with Arteza brush pens. I blended out with a water brush.  I die cut the panel with a NND die and adhered it to a pink cardbase.

A long card

Hello -

Its another middle of the night crafting session.  I had forgotten about a Hero Arts Scramble over at their Flickr group. Fortunately the scramble was extended.  Scrambles are how I started with cardmaking and blogging.

The rules are the hostess provides the parameters for the card, and the participants must use Hero Arts products as the main focus and create, photograph and upload the photographed card to the Flickr site within 90 minutes.  This one took me around 50 minutes.

First I cut my cardbase, its a 7X7 square folded in half to make a 3.5 x 7 inch card. I added some tumbled glass distress ink with a brush to 2/3rds of the card.  After drying it, I added embossed flower bunches. Following that I heat embossed and die cut 3 small butterflies.  I added them to the base and put small pearls in the centers of each of the flowers.  The sentiment was added at the very end.  Thank goodness for the misti.

Thanks for coming by.

A little something beachy

Hello -

I went a little old school with this one...remember spellbinder dies and that delicious little edge they give you, great for embossing and inking while deliberately leaving an outline edge or mat look.

I used scalloped labels 1, and cut the second largest piece. I added distress inks in Broken China, Salty Ocean, Tea Dye and Antique linnen while my die cut piece was still in the die.  I pulled the  plant from Stampin Up's Wetlands stamp set and used a Thanks sentiment I have laying around (I don't know to what set it belongs).

I am sending this beachy card to three challenges - Inspired by Challenges, Challenge up your Life, and If you give a Crafter a Cookie.

Have you had some beach time yet this summer?

Thanks for stopping by.

Color and Case Thanks

Hi there-

Thought I would get a card made this evening. So I scrolled through my challenges to see what was closing soon.  I love the colors at Color Throwdown -pink white black and gold, and the sketch at Cas(e) this Sketch is fun.

So here is my card:

I used a gold pen for the flower branch and flower centers and then topped the centers with gold nuvo drops. The sentiment was heat embossed with gold.

Hope you all had a good weekend and are managing to stay cool, or warm depending on your hemisphere!

Thanks for visiting.

Happy Birthday

Hello -

I recently made several male themed birthday cards to give away.  I made them in one sitting, and used nature themed stamps from Stampin up.  It was mentally draining, but I got them done and they were well received.  I'll be sharing them at Seize the Birthday, no toppings,  Fusion Card Challenge - Ombre, and AAA Cards Maxi White Space no option.

                                                             Going to Fusion Ombre

                                                     Going to Seize the Birthday

                                                 Going to AAA Cards

This one is going to Casology - Citrus, I have no citrus fruits but how about citrus colors?

This card is going to Double D - Tropical and Stamping Sensations - July The Earth Laughs in Flowers.
