06-25-24-2

 Hello Again...

There was last nights early morning card and this one made this afternoon. So it feels like two different days...but the calendar disagrees!

Its been quite some time since I took an adventure making a card...did something uncomfortable.  For me its water colors...the little blips of color that do magic when wet.  Its been quite a bit since I did some unrestrained coloring.

I used Altenews Starry Flowers, and my oft neglected watercolors to come up with this card:

This card is going to the gallery at Altenew's June Inspiration Challenge.

When is the last time you pushed yourself or did a technique that was a bit uncomfortable?

Thanks for visiting.

01-04-23

 Hello-

Its a bit dreary outside, but it was a joyful time in my crafty space this afternoon.

This gorgeous bloom is visiting Altenew's January Challenge along with Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge for something new. This is a new stamp set in my stash.

The image (Gracious Peonies) was stamped and colored with:
YG 03, 05
RV21, 13, 14

A double layer of the die cut Hello (Flower Arrangement dies) is set upon the fussy cut image adhered to a pink card base. I added a bit of the image to the envelope flap as well.

Its been quite a while since I have felt mojo. I posted fewer than 70 cards last year.

This week after taking several breaks in the last few months, I am again excited to make cards.

Coloring this card, really brought back my love for florals -- which I haven't played with much the past two years.  I'm also trying to tie in the envelopes to the cards as I make them.  Some of you are really great at embellishing the insides and the envies...you all have inspired me to do a bit more. Thank you too for visiting.

04-02-22-2

 Hello-

After taking a nap, I decided to play with a new stamp set, Giant Bellflower from Altenew.  I also looked at the Altenew Inspiration Challenge for this month and the colors are such fun so it was a no brainer to play along.

I looked up Bellflowers and they come in purple, white, pink and yellow.

I used Altenew inks to stamp the images.

Hope your day is amazing

Hello,

Today's card is for Altenew's September Inspiration Challenge.

I used three inks from Altenew,  Sand Dune, Autumn Blaze and Midnight Violet along with the Leaf Canopy stamp set. The sentiment comes from Altenew's Fresh Fresia stamp set.

Friends

Hello -

I had some time to play with a new to me Altenew set.  The Basic Blooms flowers are very easy to stamp and die cut.  I recently used one layer to create color layering swatches, its such a cute bloom.

I stamped three blooms in each color combination, and die cut them. I also stamped several leaves.  After adhering the lattice die to the card panel, I arranged the flowers.  To preserve the layout I used  press n seal.  I adhered the first layer flat, and the second and third layer with foam dots.  The sentiment is from the Altenew set Leaf Canopy I stamped it with a mini misti after the card was put together.  A few crystals were added to add a bit of bling.

I am entering this to Altenew's August 2019 Monthly Inspiration Challenge.

A messy thanks

Hello ~
I had to play a bit before heading to bed...

My inspiration comes from three challenges - Style from Addicted to stamps and more - Clean and Simple, colors Altenew's February 2019 Challenge, and Embossing from Just Add Ink.

Stamp is Leafy Canopy from Altenew, white heat embossed and colored with Zig markers on bristol paper.  Its not my normal, but I had fun playing with a messy look. Gold and black spits and spatters were added in the end.  The panel was mounted on a light gray card base.

Thanks so very much for stopping by.

Happy Birthday

Hello
I have another card to share today.

It was a fun one to make using distress oxide inks for watercolor underpainting, some copics for highlighting and adding shadows, and some gold and black paint spatters.  This card took quite a while to complete, but it was worth the time and effort I think.

I am submitting it to Altenew's October Inspiration Challenge and The Flower Challenge.

July 2018 Inspiration Challenge at Altenew

Hi there,

I've been enjoying my day with the window open and the rain falling softly outside.  I did take a break to meow at the wild cat in the back yard.  He/she was quite perplexed as to the source of the sounds, but didn't move from what appear to be favorite hunting grounds.  Yesterday, the same cat thought about hunting a young doe that came by for some corn. The cat thought better of it once the doe moved towards the cat.

On to the card,  this month Altenew is showing inspiration in blues and gray.

I took one of the layering stamps from the majestic bloom set and used a very pale blue to stamp the background.  I added some glitter tape in a strong blue and my sentiment in gray.  I think I can get away with sending this one to my Dad even though it is a flower card technically.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

May Altenew Inspiration Challenge

Hello

I got another card made before nap time, (my sleeping schedule seems to be normalizing again- yay!)

Altenew's May inspiration colors are aqua, teal and pink.  The graphic is posted below.

My friend Betty, sent me some Altenew die cut panels from the latest release so I used the negative and put a colored panel behind it. The aqua is in the bigger openings, and the teal in the smaller ones. On top are lots of pink Altenew flowers from the Adore You set. They were copic colored.

Thanks much for stopping by.

Altenew Inspiration Challenge for April and Simons Wednesday Challenge

Hi there!

I often miss the Altenew Inspiration Challenge; and every time I kick myself.

I love the photo and all the colors it has as well as textures. I was inspired to make my whole card front flowers as much as I adore coloring Altenew flowers.

I went with a die cut this time. I used two of the die layers of the Layered Rose die and randomly glued them down. I filled in where needed and then cut my A2 sized card down to a 4 X 4.25 inch card.  I wanted just a bit more length than width.

I struggled a bit with the sentiment. I tried black with white, white with black, white on vellum and finally came up with the strip matching one of the die cut colors.

I am also entering this to Simon's Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.

Altenew February Challenge

Hi There -

I hope to get a lot of cards made this month along with using the new stamps I have sitting in a bin.  For lent this year I am not doing any crafty shopping what-so-ever.  This is tough as all the lovely flower stamps are starting to make appearances.  My wish list however is growing...but it will be interesting to see which ones I am still interested in after a months time. Might be a lesson for the future.

Birthday cards, Thank you cards and Easter cards are my top priorities for the nest few weeks and the February Inspiration at Altenew is a perfect starting place for me.  I love the colors.

I used Altenew's Build-A-Flower Magnolia along with Altenew inks in Rose Quarts, Puffy Heart, Cosmic Berry, Purple Wine, Forest Garden, Evergreen and Paper Bag.  The sentiment is from MFT. The background is an SU stamp.  I actually stamped the Magnolia twice, once I messed up the branch but I just trimmed that off and popped it behind the full image for some added flower depth.  There is a bit of winking on the petals in the dark areas, and some clear iridescent sequins that IRL twinkle pink.
