Thinking of you

 Hi-

I really tried embracing the slimline card style...and those cards just felt too bulky to me --- but I do love the mini slimline cards -- so much so I picked up a die set from Pinkfresh Studios. 

I also like the fact that I can use 1 sheet of 8.5 x 11 inch paper to make the card base and a cover panel.

I wanted to try some no line coloring with pencils on Kraft.  So I stamped the image twice with soft sand ink from Hero Arts, then went on to color it with prisma color pencils with very sharp tips. I added a sentiment with versafine vintage sepia ink and mounted the panel with foam on to a matching cardbase.

My finished card is 6.25 by 3.25 and fits perfectly in a SSS mini slim line envelope.  I am submitting this sweet girly card to Stamping Sensations, the theme this month is for a lady.

Getting a handmade card is such a day brightener for me, and sometimes there is an extra surprise in the envelope.  Recently I was gifted this cute kitty cat from neat and tangled, so I though she'd make a perfect thank you.

I stamped, colored with copics and die cute this sweet lil kitty before mounting her on a SU card base with yellow blooms.  I am submitting this card to two challenges - Watercooler Wednesday and Addicted to Stamps.

I am woefully behind on Christmas cards, considering I wanted to make 5 each month.  Based on that count I am back in March...so with several Christmas challenges to play with this week, I am going to add to my small pile.

A good sketch

 Hello-

Yesterday I spent my crafty time coloring and fussy cutting NND cats and kittens in summery images. After all that effort I could only put one card together.

Today I put the rest of the cards together.  It all started with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  I had 3 elements that I could easily put together at the bottom of a center strip to follow the sketch.

I was very happy with this card and am entering it to the challenge.  It was a lovely sketch to play with; so I finished off several more cards with the NND cats and kittens.  They were just for fun not for any challenges.

Hello-

When I opened my mail today, I had a surprise from Peggy.  Some cute Newton's Nook stamp offs and a stamp and die set.  I have to say, at first the kittens from NND, struck me as having perplexed expressions. So they did not make it into my basket.  Now that Peggy sent me some and I have colored one I have to say  I AM IN LOVE with these kittens. 

This card is going to Inky Paws color challenge Pink, Red, Yellow and White...I added a bit of a neutral with the sand dots.  This beachy card will also be visiting Challenge up your life - Beach Time.

This lil kitten has grabbed my heart...I just hope that crab doesn't give her a pinch!

Hey There -

I discovered the Greetery much later than most of my bloggy friends. And they've had some super cute stamp and die sets in their sale section.  When I can get a cute stamp and die set for the regular price of the stamp or nearly that I am so going to grab it even if its retiring.

This panda set was a recent buy...I went for the Nordic frames and ended up with several cute stamp sets.

The challenge at AAA Cards is a sketch with the option of critters.  I thought the panda and the branch worked quite well for the sketch.

This is such a cute image and can be used for so many things. I imagine he'll stay in my stash a long time.

When I saw the challenge at CAS on Friday, I knew exactly the stamp set to use. Its in my NBUS bin and perfect.  The lady bugs are from Pretty Pink Posh and the flowers are from Clearly Besotted.

Images were stamped and colored with copics, fussy and die cut and adhered to the card panel.

CAS Mix Up Alcohol Inks and Vellum

 Hello-

We made our first trip since late 2019 to Ohio last week having returned just this mid week. It was wonderful to see the family and to catch up. 

When I got back I looked through challenges and was so taken with the lovely inspiration over at CAS Mix Up I had to play along.

I have a set of cards for fun and a single card for the challenge.   I used the alcohol inks with a straw to move the color around.  White die cuts were used for the card set and a cute and silly little stamp set from The Greetery was used for the stand alone card.

If you haven't played with Alcohol inks and vellum before give it a try.

Here is my entry for the challenge using stamping, alcohol inks and die cutting: I really liked the juxtaposition of the cartoonish starfish with the artsy background.

I made several inked panels and below are some of the other cards I made for a set of note cards. No stamping; I'll decide if I separate them and use them individually if they will have sentiments on the front.  

These were just more play time and not for entry.

 Hey there-

My June Card Chain Challenge card uses several of the available prompts this month.  

I am using the colors: they were a bit challenging.  Luckily one has the options of using shades of the colors. I also used the sketch and the theme of things that fly.  So its a trifecta card for Linda in Minnesota this month.
