How is it the 21st of August already...it was just July! I love the CAS Challenges (Mix Up, Watercolor, Christmas and Stencil). They've introduced me to many new techniques.
For this post, I am showing cards for two of the challenges: CAS Stencil and CAS Mix UP.
My next card is for CAS Mix Up.
I took the messy and sticky paper towel and laid it on more hotpress watercolor paper. After lightly spritzing with water, I put a round stamping block on top of it and the used my fingertips to tamp down on it. I wanted to preserve the dimples from the paper towel in the color transfer.
I didn't get quite the look I wanted, the circle image wasn't clear enough, but the color with the dots intact was perfect. So I diecut a window cardbase to go over the piece. I die cut a daisy added it to the aperture, heat embossed a sentiment on a strip of same the same piece. That too was diecut and placed on the card front.
Both pieces are much more soft than my ususal colors, and I think they are great additions to my stash. Thanks so much for visiting.

Very cool techniques! These look great!
Gorgeous spray/stencil border on your card Cat, really like the soft colours and that's a great idea to give it extra luster with the pearly EP... great that you then got a second lovely card... and thanks for sharing with CAS Stencil, Robyn
the soft colors are so pretty on both cards - and agreed - great additions to your stash!
Both cards are so pretty and both with fun and fabulous techniques. Love the imprint from the towel on your second card. Thanks for playing along at The CAS Mix Up x.
LOve that darling bloom... and both of your blooming beautiful cards, Cat! Just look at those dimples!

Wonderful cards Cat, love the stencilled border and the pearl ep really adds a lot of texture. Such a great way to use up the mopped up colour too in the paper towel technique, I haven't tried this yet! Looks so pretty, thankyou for playing along at CAS Stencil, Cathy x
I love your stenciling with sprays card design, Cat So awesome how you used your mop up paper towel from your 1st card to make your pretty CAS Mix Up paper towel card. So pleased you joined us a CAS Stencil too. TFS and Hugs...
Two really gorgeous cards, Cat! You did an amazing job with your sprays, and I love your color palette! Love how you added texture to your design with Pearl EP, too! I also love the soft pastel background on your 2nd card...The dotted pattern from your paper towel worked perfectly! I'm so glad you enjoy playing along with us at the CAS challenges...we always enjoy seeing your creations in the galleries, that's for sure :) Barb xx
