Twofer Card Challenge 19

Greetings....

Well my nerves are now calmed down after successfully having had my first post with the team at Twofer Card Challenge last month.  Everyone has been very nice and welcoming.

On to this months challenge:

Just click on the graphic above to be taken to the challenge page.

Since this is a challenge requiring two different card designs for two different occasions I start with selecting my stamps first (but you can use stamps, dies or stencils for your images).  Then I think about the design.  Making sketches really helps in the design process and assures you have two different designs.

My cards feature the stamp set Sailing from SSS.  My common stamp is the ocean waves.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you in the August Twofer Gallery.

Warmest Wishes

Another play with the mondo wildflowers from Ellen Hutson.

This time I took my inspiration from Just add ink  the colors,  and Seize the Birthday with toppings of flowers for the occasion.

Thanks for visiting.

Hello

Hey There -

I have another card for a few challenges today.

This is one of my go to's when mojo goes on vacation.  White heat embossed flower and some watercoloring using markers, in this case Arteza markers.  It calms me. The stamp is from Ellen Hutson, Mondo Wildflowers. Hard to see but the sentiment die is layered over a vellum outline piece.

This is going to:

Case This Sketch (ya I took liberties)

Trees

I  rediscovered a little Pine Tree stamp from Altenew as I was hunting for something to use for  two challenges this afternoon.

The theme at Addicted to Stamps is Holiday, and the theme at Christmas Kickstart is Christmas Trees.

Darnell of djcardcreations and  Twofer Chard Challenge is the guest elf at Christmas Kickstart so that challenge is asking for a Twofer.

For the blue card, I used only the second stamp of the Pine Tree Set, the one that stamps the darker image.  I heat embossed it in clear then added distress ink over it.  I added the seasons greeting sentiment later in white embossing powder. (the light today won't let that sentiment show! Sorry)

For the green card, I used both the 1st and 2nd layer of the Pine Tree stamp and framed it with a Simon Says Stamp die cut.

Thank you so much for visiting.

Summer

Hello -

A quick post before I run off and take care of some errands.

I recently bought this adorable Newton's Nook Designs stamp and I had to have a bit of a play with it.

I stamped the stamp twice, once on a bit of masking paper. I masked off the image and used distress inks to ink up a background within my masked off  off-the-edge circle. I then removed the mask over the stamp and colored the image with copics.  I added some dots and shadow under Newton as well.

The sentiment came with the stamp and was white embossed on black.  The entire base was adhered to a Kraft cardbase. This one is going to my Dad.  He enjoys the cat cards.

Both Just Us Girls and Inky Paws Challenge have a theme of Summer.

Thanks so much for visiting, and I hope you are not sweltering in the heat.  Have a cool slice!

More from the Sea

Hello -

A few more cards featuring those adorable cat-mers.  Yes I know they should be called purrmaids, but I like cat-mers better, especially for the boy cats.

For The Library Challenge

These cards are going to three challenges:

The catmers were stamped and colored with copic markers then fussy cut.  I adhered them to various backgrounds / cardbases.  I had so much fun with these cute lil stamps from Newton's Nook Designs.

Birthday Chick

Hi there-

I've had this stamp set for a bit and have yet to ink it up. Today was the day.

I cut 3 squares, and stamped them each with one of the chicks.  I used Copics to color them.  Before mounting them on the square card base, I edged each with a black marker to add a little more dimension.  Lastly, I cut up the sentiment so that I could fit in the open section, I added a balloon for a bit more festive feel.

This card is going to play in these Challenges :

July Card Chain Challenge

Hello -

This month my card for the card chain challenge is going stateside to California.  We had several options as we do every month,  I chose Faces and Figures and just went with the face.  I recently acquired Ellen Hutson's voices in my head stamp set.  For some reason I just love it. It's not my normal at all...it might be the sentiments that come along with the set.

Its great for a quick card.  I also got the related dies, they are basically word bubble and cloud dies.

I stamped and colored the head/face stamp and colored the bun.  Next I stamped the sentiment, and placed the word bubble die over it and took a sharpie to trace the interior of the die.  I hope Denise likes the card.

Daisy

Hello -

The weather is just a touch cooler today.  A brief respite before they hike back up over the weekend.

A simple and quick card today using SSS's Daisy Square and a Sugar Pea sentiment.

After die cutting the daisy twice and layering it together, I colored the center with a watercolor brush. The die cut was then mounted on a 4.25" square card. The sentiment was heat embossed in white on black card. The card base has a subtle texture so that the smooth diecut stands out a bit.

This card is going to:
