Inspired by

Hello ~

The photo inspiration at inspired by has a lot of luscious pinks.  They inspired my coloring of the wheelbarrow full of love in my card.

The stamp comes from Penny Black, and I have to say I have loved playing with the hedgies. The Valentine greeting is inside.

Thanks for stopping by.

Navy and Yellow

Hey there -

Seems like it has been awhile since I've sat down and posted a card.  My twofer card from the previous post was actually made and set up for posting in January. Those guest designer posts need to be done ahead of time.

So looking through my challenge folder for anything due on or around the 12th, I found the Less is More challenge requiring navy and yellow.  I am in need of thank you cards so I whipped up a few using the Ditsy print stamp from Altenew.  Its cute and whimisical, and best of all for me...there are flowers.

Its a very quick card, stamping and partial coloring. One ink, one marker.  A few colored matching pearls and its finished after mounting on coordinating cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping in.

Guest Designing at Twofer

Hi There ~

I was lucky enough to have my Twofer entry for December to win, and then landed a Guest Design spot for this challenge, thanks to Darnell and her team at Twofer Card Challenge.

If you have never played at Twofer the challenge is all about stretching
your supplies and your creativity.

I usually use stamps, this time I chose to use a die from
Simon Says Stamp for my two cards.

I wracked my brain to create an alternate use for the star theme,
but ended up with two traditional star cards.
I have an encouragement card and a
birthday card with a zodiac constellation.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone creates.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Kickstart 3

Hi there~

Challenge #3 at Christmas Kickstart is Festive Felines.  I have a few Christmas cat stamps, and this one from Newton's Nook is one of my favorites.

I've paired it with and Elizabeth Craft pine branch.  Can you just imagine a kitty hanging on?

The first cat I had, was a Christmas Tree climber, he knocked a few trees over and broke glass ornaments.

We finally went to an artificial tree decorated with glossy paper mache apples. He would bat them off every branch and chase them around the house.  He was with us almost 19 years.  He was the runt of a litter of barn cats and was too slow to scramble up into the hayloft as I grabbed him.  He was an excellent mouser and would play fetch with small toys.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hearts

Hi there ~

Another Valentine, this one is for my Godson.  I thought the bolder darker colors would make a good male card; and Valentines can be cute even if they are for men.

I'm submitting this copic colored AI image card to the following challenges:

Double D Challenges

The Male Room

I had such fun coloring that card, I made another softer version of it.

I am submitting this one to:  Addicted to Stamps - Make your Mark.

Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine Roses

Hello

The cupcake challenge has some luscious looking cupcakes.  I was inspired by the red heart on the vanilla iced cupcake.

The die comes from Simon Says Stamp, the sentiment from Lawn Fawn.

Hearts and Hedgie

Hi There~

Another Valentine's card. This time inspired by the challenge at Time Out.  The decoration on the cake reminded me of a Penny Black stamp I have.

The image was stamped and then colored with Zig markers.  A birchpress die cut out the image and it was mounted on red cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine Hearts

Hi There ~

I've been in a bit of a slump. I wanted to get my Valentine's finished so they'd be mailed in good time for the day.  My list got a little out of hand and it seemed to take forever to complete them.

I got mojo help from Inspired by's mood board.

The lower ight row of hearts reminded me of the SSS die I have that has had far too little use.  Using a metal ship helps this die to cut very nicely.

I cut the die three times once from red, twice from black. The outline black was stacked two deep and then the red hearts were inserted from the red cutting, leaving a red outline for another project.

I had such fun, I made another softer version for Just Us Girls - Love theme.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

January CCC

HI There ~

Another year of the Card Chain Challenge has kicked off with so many choices.  There are 6 colors to mix and or match, a sketch, themes, and products or techniques to use in your card.  To see them call click here.

My card is going to Denise in California.  I hope she likes it. I love it and it might be hard to mail...lol. I better do it quickly before I have second thoughts and let it set up permanent residence here.

I had a left over panel from some ink blending I did earlier for another challenge -- thou I deliberately picked colors from the options for this exchange.  Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans,  Peacock Feathers and Broken China.  It was a very rough blending, and I love the marbled look.

I added a black double layerd and clear embossed diecut Magic Flower from Alexandra Renke sent to me by my friend Betty.   I tried white first but it looked a bit bland.

The black added drama...maybe a bit too much so I softened it with a teal ribbon. The juxtaposition of that edgy flower die and the sweetly tied ribbon make me smile.  No sentiment for this one - that background needs to shine.

Thanks for stopping by.
