Back at Inspired by all the Little Things

Hello

Today I am back with my second post as Guest Artist at Inspired by all the Little Things.  Again thank you Darnell for the invitation.

Here is our inspiration photo for this challenge:

I was inspired by the blue lavender and pink frosting and how they blended into one another.  If you look closely you'll see the gold cherries that also grabbed my attention.

Come play along, the challenge is open until Friday May 4th.

Inspired by all the little things GD

Hi there!

I was thrilled to be asked by Darnell to be a featured  Creative Guest Artist over at Inspired by all the Little Things and I said yes immediately.  I'll be guest designing twice this month. Thank you so very much Darnell.

Here is the first inspiration photo:

Ya all know I love the flowers and I was inspired by the line of blooms in the vibrant and soft colors.  My card is simple, made with Hero Arts Tall Flowers stamp Copic colored with a few sequins added.  The sentiment comes from MFT.

I am hoping you'll stop by Inspired by all the Little Things and play along; this challenge is open until April 20th.

I am also entering this to Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge's 9th Birthday Challenge, and  A blog named Hero -Use your favorite Hero Arts product.

Some more Magnolia

Hi there,

After my earlier card I returned my books to the library - I love the feel of a hard-backed book. I've gotten over the need to own them -- I simply don't have the room to store them.

Of course I left my craft desk a mess, so before cleaning up, I stamped and heat embossed a few more of those Altenew Magnolias.  I am hoarding my bristol paper since I have a long month to go before I can buy any more crafty supplies.  I found a pad of Artist's Loft mixed media paper and used that.  The Zig markers worked pretty well on that paper. I colored the marker on and blended with a water brush after heat embossing the image.

I made 4 cards and they'll do for 4 different challenges.  So lots of photos to come.

For Less is More - Dry Embossing I made this card:

For Addicted to Stamps and More Anything Goes, I am submitting this card:

For Inspired by all the Little Things I am submitting this card:  I was inspired by the pink flowers and the touches of aqua/blue in the inspiration photo.

For the City Crafter Challenge Blog - Die Cuts, I am submitting this version:

Penny Black January Cupcake Inspirations 438 Inspired by all the little things 78

Greetings --

I always struggle with my salutation...anyone else?

Today's card came together with the help of three challenges. The colors from Cupcake Inspirations #438 (Rose, Cream, Black); Penny Black Saturday Challenge for January -Anything Goes using Penny Black image; and Inspired by all the little things 78 Photo Inspiration.

My colors are from the cardstock with tone on tone embossing, the flower outline and the Copic on vellum coloring.  The flower image is from Penny Black's Delightful, I cut out only a small portion of the image once it was stamped and heat embossed. My card shape and the lattice clear embossing was inspired by the photo inspiration at Inspired by all the little things.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by.

Inspired by all the Little Things 75

Hi there:

Its a crafty evening with the college football championships on  in the background. Later on hubs will order Chinese food and we'll do the decorating, so I am getting a few cards done in the mean time.

This one is for Inspired by all the little things, have you seen the adorable image, those skates make me want to find some ice!

I was inspired by the skates, the wood-like paneling and that sweet shade of blue.

Inspired by All the little things 73

Hi There -

I am stepping out of my comfort zone on this one.  Its a modern take on bold non-traditional colors inspired by this Challenge Photo: (you can click on the photo to be taken to the challenge page.)

http://inspiredbyallthelittlethings.blogspot.com/2017/11/inspired-by-all-little-things-73.html

The pinks, blues, aqua, and yellow just look so sweet -- but I am not a pastel kinda girl -- so I made those colors bold.

Inspired by all the Little Things 70

Hi All~

It has been ages since I sat in my craft room to actually craft. I returned from California, my trip had been extended unexpectedly due to my Dad's health.  All is good now, so I was able to return home.

Hubs had been battling a cold and within a day and a half of being home I came down with it.  I am on day 10 and am finally feeling better. I have graduated to clothing instead of jammies and blankies, but still lots of naps.

Today I finished cleaning up my crafty space - I left it in a disaster while packing for my trip. I always have good intentions to leave it clean but that almost never happens.  Maybe for the next trip.

So on to the challenge - Have you see this fabulous graphic over at Inspired by All the little Things?
I knew if I felt better in time, this would be my first card and challenge once I was back to it. I was inspired by the bids of blue peeking through and the leaves. I imagine it all sitting on a rustic picnic bench.

Here is my card:

The leaves are from Penny Black, my friend Greta had sent me some and I loved them so much I had to add the die to my collection. The sentiment comes from Simon Says Stamp and the wood plank stamp is my favorite from Stampin Up.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Inspired by and Less is More

Hello!

Two challenges this evening. My color choice was inspired by the yellow inside the bookcase in the Inspired by all the Little Things photo. I added the smaller sentiment with foam which gives a nice shadow, and added shadows to the flower petals with multiple memento markers for the challenge over at Less is More. Links to both challenges are below.

I am entering these challenges - Inspired by all the little things #54 and Less is More #326.

Flower image is from Concord & 9th, Sentiment is from Mama Elephant.

Holiday Happy

Last night hubs and I grabbed a Christmas music cd, and drove to take in a light display near Annapolis. I don't know what it is, but the lights just make me giddy and happy like a kid. That reminded me of this sentiment stamp after I saw the challenge over at Inspired by All the Little Things #34.

I added a bit of color to the white embossed sentiment using Prismacolor pencils in white for a base and then green and red. A frame was cut to put everything to a better proportion.  The stamp is from Stampin Up.
The graphic is below.  The framed blackboard caught my eye along with the red and green bits.

Here are a few pictures from our drive last night.

These designs are many many many feet tall and wide.  Some of the designs were animated.  I enjoyed it tremendously.  Tonight hubs and I are doing a bit of decorating, not a whole lot since the holidays include travels for both of us.

Thanks

Hi there...are all you northern hemisphere dwellers enjoying some cooler fall weather? I am loving the bite of fall in the air.

Today's card is for the challenge over at Inspired by All the Little Things.

I love the browns with just a touch of color.  For my card the main panel is watercolor paper white embossed with some leaf shapes from A Muse Studio.  I spritzed the paper with water then sprinkled on some brown brusho's in the open area of the panel.  I tilted and spun the card to get coverage all over, but not within the leaves.   Lastly, I wet the leaves lightly, and sprinkle more of the brown brusho powder into the leaf areas, I did not brush them out or add more water. I wanted the intense colors of the power pigments showing all the different shades.

I mounted it onto some textured tissue paper on a card base and added the thanks die cut (I think its from SSS).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Mums

Hello!

Have you ever been excited about a stamp purchase...waited for it to be delivered, gotten it your excited hands, and then been disappointed in your creations?

That happened recently for me with a Mum's stamp.  The stamp and image are fabulous, but I was so not pleased with my watercoloring efforts.  I made a slew of cards with several color combinations.  I don't know why.  So I decided to sell the stamp set knowing I would rarely use it.  It sold in the blink of an eye likely because it was a newer stamp.

I have sold several stamps and dies over the last few years, my storage space is limited so if something comes in something must go out.  I would sometimes have a bit of remorse having sold the item, but I solved that issue by stamping off or die cutting a dozen of whatever I sell.  That seems to keep me quite satisfied and no more remorse.

So the point of the long story...here is a card made with the mum stamp.  I am not mentioning manufacturing names, because the stamp is beautiful...its me.  I had trouble showing it to its potential.  I love the stamps from this particular manufacturer.

I do like the stamp simply embossed in copper on black cardstock with a CTMH rose gold foil strip and some coppery sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. I also embossed a few more in white, and I am going to try the watercoloring again probably with zigs this time.

So what do you do with your highly anticipated purchases, that don't live up to your expectations?

ETA:  Thanks Betty for the note...I am entering this over at Inspired by all the Little Things.
They have this beautiful chrysanthemum as inspiration.

Back to my crafty space

Hi everyone. It feels so good to be back in my crafty space.  The ideas just seem to flow better here.  I miss my Dad, the two fuzzy ones and the lovely dry air, but this is now home for me.

Today, I have a card for several challenges.  I have been itching to play with this stamp set from Close to my Heart for a while.  It is called Hawaiian Hibiscus, the set includes two views of the Hibiscus, two sentiments, a leaf and two smaller flowers...maybe ginger blossoms.

I am using the Sketch from Cas(e) this sketch # 178, the colors are from the image at Inspired by All the Little things #21.

I cut most of the image panel along straight lines, the bottom and right lower area are fussy cut along the sentiment and flower petals. I embossed the card base with elegant dots from Stampin Up.  This card is going to male friends of mine who used to live in Hawaii...so I can get away with the flower, but no extra embellishments.  The main panel is adhered with foam tape.

I am also submitting this to  Anything goes Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
