Back to it

Hello~

I am back from our mini vacation.  We visited my in-laws in Ohio and had some fabulous days. It was a nice relaxed visit. Not too much going on. Next we headed to Lake George New York, for a seminar hubs needed to attend. We got there early and left late and used the extra days to explore the area. We were very close to Vermont, so we explored there too.  The leaves were beginning their autumnal show.  It was amazingly peaceful and restful despite all the driving.

After getting the laundry going and restocking the cupboards and refrigerator, I grabbed a bit of time to make a couple of cards for several challenges.

This card is going to Words to Craft By #85

This card is going to Simon's Work it Wednesday.

And both cards are going to the Twofer Challenge #10.   My common stamp is the basket of apples, if you look closely at the fencing immediately below the pumpkins, there are several stampings of just the basket which were fussy cut after being colored.  The card base was also colored similarly.  I added some matching lines to continue the boards of the fencing.

Listen!
The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings,
now for October eves.  Humbert Wolfe
Work it Wednesday - Thanks

Before I go, some color...

Thanks so much for stopping by.

September Bizarre Day

Hi There -

Another entry in my monthly Bizzare Day series.  This one is for September 21st International Gratitude Day; heading into fall it seemed the perfect day for a card project.

This new to me Concord and 9th stamp had been on my wishlist quite a while. As fall was approaching I bought it.  I decided that if waiting over a year it still pulled at me - it was a good purchase.

I'm also going to submit this to Words to Craft By
the slogan for this challenge is :
Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

W2CB Guest I-Teamer

Hi There,

I had  a card win over at Words 2 Craft by for their February challenge.  Along with a prize I was asked to be a Guest I-Teamer by Sybrina.  I quickly accepted the offer!  Thanks so much to all the team over at Words 2 Craft by.

The words for the April/May challenge are:

No Winter lasts forever, no Spring skips its turn. April is a promise that May is bound to keep, and we know it.  -Hal Borland

Ya all know I love the flower cards, and I have some darling flower stamps.  It was just a matter of choosing!  I chose Simon's Cosmo Background. I left 5 blooms with only the centers colored to keep the card a bit lighter.

Come on over and join in, you have until May 2, 2018 11:59pm EDT.   I'd love to see you in the gallery!

Seasons Greetings

Hello~

The Olympics are keeping me in the mood to work on Christmas Cards for my stash.  I have a goal of 5 per month.  January went well, and here is the first of February's collection. I will likely make several of these cute snow-families.

This week's Muse                                                  Words 2 Craft by : If kisses were snowflakes
                                                                                                           I'd send you a blizzard.

Tracey's card at Muse is a sweet Valentine, and I was completely taken in by her inked background with spatters.  For my version I used a snow stencil to give some texture to my inked background and I went with Christmas as my holiday.  Since I have a snowy scene with my stenciled embossing paste and glittered snow this card is also going to Words 2 Craft By.

I stamped and masked off my snow family image (from Wild Rose Studio); I then sponged on the background blue with tumbled glass DI.  After coloring the snow family with DI markers and a water brush I let them dry, and then added my blizzard with SSS Falling snow stencil and embossing paste. Before it dried I topped it with distress glitter in clear rock candy.  I waited about 10 minutes then die cut the panel, added the sentiment and mounted it to a card base.

Thanks much for stopping by!

Keep Swimming

I love it when things come together.  I bought Simon Says Stamp Best Fishes recently and haven't yet brought it out to play, and then I see the challenge for Words to Craft By.  It's a sign I tell ya.  The Colors at Color Throwdown worked perfectly for this card.

Here is my card:

Welcome Spring

 Grab Our Blinky!

I am so excited to be a guest I-Teamer over at Words 2 Craft by today.  I have to thank the lovely women over at W2CB, for selecting my project in February and extending me an invitation to be a guest I-Teamer for the April challenge.

The inspiration quote is:
Our spring has come at last with the soft laughter of April suns and shadow of April showers.   Byron Caldwell Smith

I kept seeing an image of a spring umbrella festooned with flowers.  I used Simon Says Stamp Tiny flowers die, and their new felt. The umbrella is a wood veneer piece by freckled fawn, I colored with white pencil before attaching the flowers and gems.

Stop by the  Words 2 Craft by  blog to see what the I-Teamers have put together for inspiration. In addition to the fabulous I Teamer's inspirations there are two prizes up for grabs. If you don't already follow, consider it. There will be one follower  of the challenge and one participant in the challenge randomly selected for a Paper Smooches gift certificate.  The winning entry will be invited to be a Guest designer for a future challenge.

 Thanks for stopping by!

Hello

I recently picked up this crocus stamp from Technique Tuesday.  I took it with me for crafty Tuesday with the ladies.  I didn't get much done, but had a good time.   I am still on my colored pencil coloring kick, and I love how this turned out.

I am going to link this up at Words 2 Craft by, the theme is Spring/Easter and the quote is:

Just when the caterpillar thought her life was over she began to fly.
                                                                                                                                - Anon.

While there is no caterpillar or butterfly here...the crocus always reminds me of Easter and Springtime. And just like many of the spring bulb flowers that die and go to ground in the fall, they rise up each spring to bloom anew.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Treasures

A couple of blogs that had an extended time period shut down at the end of the year. I was looking for at least one more to give me some play time flexibility.  From Greta's blog I found Words 2 Craft by.  I kinda liked the idea of a written inspiration.  So here is my first entry of what I hope will be many.

Grab Our Blinky! Our words for this month come from American author and humorist Mark Twain.

I can promise all my heart's devotion;

A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;

A love that's true and ever growing;

A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.

While many may only see romantic love here, I see the love of friendship.   I value and love my girlfriends. I love and adore my hubby, but sometimes a girl just needs girl time.

My friends are treasures.

Supplies include Distress ink -Tumbled Glass, Waves Stencil by SSS, Hero Arts Live Life stamp set, PPP bubbles, and Zig Clean Color Markers. Treasure Chest is hand drawn.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
