 Hello-

Wow, February already?

I have a new stamp set -- Flowing Flowers from Stampin Up and I also pulled out a fairly new die from Simon Says Stamp - Etched Delicate Frond. I used them both for this Thank You card.

I am having this go visit the galleries of Watercooler Wednesday, Cupcake Inspiration and NBUS#35.

Grab our badge to display on your blog.

On the personal front:

I haven't been doing much crafting do to a debilitating round of the lovely vampire hours; which thankfully I seem to be easing out of bit by bit.

Three years ago I set a goal for myself to enter challenges and try to make cards that would gain a mention or a win each month.  To my surprise, I surpassed that goal and one year rolled to two then three and eventually made cardmaking feel like a job.  I stopped having fun making cards.

Today, I am appreciative of my Vampire hours. Since I made few cards in January and earned no mentions at all.

I actually enjoyed making today's card.

That doesn't mean there will be a furry of posts for February; I didn't get more than the family covered for Valentines and the Olympics are starting...I might have glimpsed a few seconds of curling when I got up at 4:30 this morning.  I love the winter Olympics so I do imagine I will be spending lots of time watching.

So thank you all for visiting and I appreciate your comments.

Glad cardmaking is again fun for you, Cat. Funny, I've just had a talk with myself not to care about having cards picked as it's just an opinion of people no better than me. I don't mean that I'm as talented as the DT members, but the fact that someone likes a card doesn't mean it's better than one they personally don't like--or the other way around. Anyway, I do love the look of this card & the frond die works beautifully with flowers! Now I'll need to add it to my wishlist--haha!

What a beautiful card with a stamp set I'll be coveting now, thank you very much! I'm happy to know you're coming back to daytime living. I feel for you as there are times I'm awake till 5 or 6 in the morning and then I sleep till 10 or 11. Not okay! I'll look forward to whatever you share whenever you get around to sharing it. Hugs!

Alas,I too am familiar with vampire hours and sometimes it’s the wellspring of brilliant creativity such as this card. Have fun card making when you get around to it but more importantly enjoy watching the Winter Olympics.
Thank you for sharing with us at NBUS.

Just beautiful!!!! I love this card very much!!
And no, making cards shouldn't be a job, it has to be fun and enjoyable. If you need a break, that's ok.

Beautiful pair of blossoms, Cat - love the color combo and the delicate fronds!! Yes, card making can be a chore, especially when you have to make a specific thing with a short deadline. More fun to do what you want, when you want! Glad the vampire hours are receding!!

Your flowers are beautiful, I love those colours and the lovely soft green of the die cut leaves. they make the perfect background. I am glad to hear your sleep has started to settle and that it has enabled a little reset for you around your crafting. It can definitely get a bit overwhelming sometimes. I think it is a real art to keep the balance right. Enjoy the Olympic games and I shall look forward to seeing your makes as and when you feel like it xx

I wondered if you were working as a vampire again, Cat, but I thought it best to let you sleep it off, as it were. I'm glad it is easing for you. In any case, wow, your card is stunning! I love the colors! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NUBS just for fun! I also love the great manly card with the vintage car that I saw on the way in and good job using even more NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

Beautiful card Cat! The depth of colour in the flowers is so pretty and paired perfectly with the fronds. I had a break from cardmaking when I had surgery and am feeling all the better for it. Make what you enjoy and take plenty of time to do other things, Cathy x

This is beautiful, Cat! I'm glad you enjoyed making it. Looks like you are taking advantage of your Vampire sleep patterns. Thanks for the tip that the Olympics are on round the clock. I may start watching them when I can't sleep.
