Hello -
May's bizarre day is May 16th - Love a Tree day. I do love trees. I love them all year round - when its stark and cold in winter, when they are full of color in fall, when they are lush and green in summer and mostly in the spring when some of them bloom.
I love both the cherry blossoms and the magnolias - my two favorite springtime flowering trees. This card is was inspired by them. I followed the AI Watercolor Wednesday video for placement.
After about 5 years, my crafty space is finally set up and organized in a way that makes it feel open and friendly for crafting. I've been putting it together piecemeal deciding what I do like and what I don't. This space also holds my "office" where I help out hubs. This final push included doubling plus my shelving, purging things I had stuffed away in every nook and cranny, and organizing so I can just look and know what is where. I thought I would share a photo. Its a panoramic shot and has a bit of distortion on the right side.
My window is west facing, and gives me light most of the day. I am on the second floor - outside that window is a stand of trees - a small woods and a bird feeder. I often get side tracked by the squirrel antics, the birds, and the hopeful yet unsuccessful cats stalking both the birds and squirrels.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I love your card, such a pretty scene and well done with those stamps. I haven’t tried the AI watercoloring in quite a while! I love the little peek into your craft room. It is always nice to have a window and it looks like you have a lot of great shelves and even a play to display cards you have received? TFS!
i love trees too - my japanese maple is overly lush this spring with red leaves - do you know Joyce Kilmer's poem "Trees"? a favorite. and your card is so pretty in those spring colors. glad you're all organized - it does take so much time - and i thought i had a lot of stuff!!
What a wonderful accomplishment, Cat! Love the view out your window, too! I know I have to get with the organizing as it's actually depressing me hanging over my head. What a gorgeous scene for your card which would make a great framed piece!
LOVE your beautiful flowering trees, Cat~what a sweet Springtime scene you created. I agree with Greta ~ totally frameable piece of art for your fabulous new Craft Room!
PS: Sorry I've been MIA of late, had surgery a couple of weeks ago and had a friend actually post a couple of cards on my Blog for me. Thanks for all of your support and lovely comments, friend!
Well, there's nothing bizarre about loving a tree! I love them, too, Cat! Except for one, all the hanging art in my home is of trees or leaves. Your sweet painting perfectly captures springtime trees! Thank you for sharing your craftroom! It does look well-organized and, man, doesn't it ever feel good to do that and do a purge?! Your mojo will be on FIRE now! That is, when you aren't distracted by what's happening outside the window!! Hugs, Darnell
Cat, I've not heard of Bizarre Day, but I admire your love of trees... and still miss my forest!
This is a fabulous little painting, my friend! and your craft-room is looking fabulous, too! bravo!
