Hi there!
Well its not so bizzare nor unique - Its Ice Cream Day July 15th. There are several versions of cool treat days in July - no wonder for many of us in the northern hemisphere it is the hottest month of the year.
I made a little card, its 3.75" square, and had fun with it.
Thanks for stopping by.

May Bizarre Day
Hello -
May's bizarre day is May 16th - Love a Tree day. I do love trees. I love them all year round - when its stark and cold in winter, when they are full of color in fall, when they are lush and green in summer and mostly in the spring when some of them bloom.
I love both the cherry blossoms and the magnolias - my two favorite springtime flowering trees. This card is was inspired by them. I followed the AI Watercolor Wednesday video for placement.
After about 5 years, my crafty space is finally set up and organized in a way that makes it feel open and friendly for crafting. I've been putting it together piecemeal deciding what I do like and what I don't. This space also holds my "office" where I help out hubs. This final push included doubling plus my shelving, purging things I had stuffed away in every nook and cranny, and organizing so I can just look and know what is where. I thought I would share a photo. Its a panoramic shot and has a bit of distortion on the right side.
My window is west facing, and gives me light most of the day. I am on the second floor - outside that window is a stand of trees - a small woods and a bird feeder. I often get side tracked by the squirrel antics, the birds, and the hopeful yet unsuccessful cats stalking both the birds and squirrels.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

April Bizzare and Unique Day
Hello~
I have several poppy stamps and it was time for them to come out to celebrate California Poppy day - April 6th.
When I lived in California, one year my Mom and I planted poppies in the yard we had them in red, yellow-orange and hot pink. So you'll know where my inspiration came from. My stamps are Hero Arts (red); Penny Black (yellow) Technique Tuesday (pink). All were colored with copic markers and stamped in SSS barely beige ink so I could get a no-line look.

March Bizzare and Unique Day
Hello -
Yup this makes the third month of my cards inspired by a Bizarre and Unique calendar Day.
The 23rd is national Puppy Day. So I'm letting the dogs out. (sorry I couldn't help myself)
I recently won this stamp from Newton's Nook and I think its perfect for Puppy Day. (Thank you so much!)

It's difficult to tell in the photo, but there are 3 layers of the pups on this card.

Feburary Bizzare and Unique Day
Hi there-
This month, my card was inspired by Polar Bear Day. I am still enjoying so much my MFT Polar Bear Pals stamp set I got last year and only used it once before the flower season took over --which for me and my cards is practically year round. I spent a day with this set, and created several cards - most of which have been already posted. This one was my favorite of the bunch.
Lots of masking for the bears and the freehand iceberg, inking for the sky and copic coloring for the bears, ice and iceberg. The card took time, but I love the result. The card is going to my long time bestie - we've known one another and have been friends since 1975 when my family moved to California and she and I ended up sitting together in craft class. She always had more artistic flair than I did...but decades later I think I found my artistic niche.
Have a fabulous Day, and thank you so much for visiting.

More Penguins
Hi there,
I made these before I took off for California and meant to include them with my Penguin Day post, but I did not get it done, so here are a few more Penguin cards now that I am back in my crafty space in Maryland.
Thanks for stopping by!

Bizzare and Unique Days
Hello!
My favorite cards are the just because or unexpected cards. They are wonderful to receive and so many of my non-card making friends back in California have let me know that the unexpected envelope in the mailbox is a definite mood lifter.
I know when I get a card from my crafty friends unexpectedly it brings a smile to my face and adds a lil something to the day.
I have lots of thinking of you sentiment stamps as well as just because...but I was thinking I needed some inspiration. I kinda stumbled on to this site of Bizzare and Unique Days, and I think there is inspiration there for some cards...and a silly unexpected reason to mail them out. I plan on picking out one day each month making several cards for that day and sending them out.
For me this month, its Penguin Awareness Day - I have several penguin stamps and what better way to use them?
So, thanks for stopping by; as always your visit is appreciated.
