Just Because

Hi there,

I've been MIA for a few days, my last week's posts were pre-done. I've been reorganizing my crafty space, and as my projects usually go it was FAR more work and time intensive than I thought it would be.

Now that my crafting table is clear, it is time to create.

I am playing along with two challenges -  The Card Concept - Bold Bloom, and Where Creativity meets C9 - Floral.

From the Card Concept I was inspired by the red and the white blinds, and I love this bold lily from Concord and 9th.  In addition, I used a cover plate from Avery Elle and a sentiment from PTI to complete my card.  The image was white embossed and colored with Arteza brush tip watercolor markers.

I'm calling this one clean and layered for the card concept.

I stamped the image on bristol, heat embossed in white, colored it and then die cut that whole panel with the coverplate. I mounted it on black for drama and added a black inked sentiment.  This is my wedding anniversary month - 10 years on the 30th.  Red, Black and white were my wedding colors so I am often drawn to this combination.

Great Friend

Hello,

I've been mia with several home projects. They always take more time than anticipated.  Tonight is my first time in the craft room to actually craft in more than a week.  I had some cards posted in anticipation of not being able to get much done craft wise the last week or so.

Where Creativity meets C9 has Spring for its theme; CAS Colours and Sketches have a cute sketch that inspired me, and The Card Concept had a beautiful graphic that also provided inspiration.

The flower is from Concord and 9th, the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Embossed Flowers

Hi There!

Tonight I sat down to make a card for two challenges and the final ended up working for three!

I stamped and heat embossed the Lily from Concord and Ninth, then colored it with inktense pencils.  After it dried, I was totally not pleased.

It just was too chalky feeling and looking. Instead of tossing it I was determined to make it work.

Using a square stitched die I made a smaller focal piece. Next I clear embossed the entire piece 3 times with clear embossing powder.

I framed it in a touch of black...I have to credit that to Ardyth (of MASKerade), I had commented earlier today on her blog that I loved her black touches and how they elevated images, adding to the crisp feeling.

This will be entered to these challenges:   HLS July Anything goes with Dies, Where Creativity meets C9 - Embossing, The Flower Challenge- Embossing Heat/Dry.

JUGS Mother and C9 Florals

A quick post for two challenges, Just us Girls - Mother and Where Creativity Meets C9.

I am trying to use up the ink in my set of Memento Markers which are going on being 7 years old. Some are beginning to dry out and the brush tips are getting mushy.  So I am using them to get the ink out before they all dry  out.  They are great for stamp inking, and can be used to water color as well.

I colored the stamp with a lighter red and green, then after stamping the sentiment, I colored in the flower with the original red so that the color was even, then tried to get some depth with a darker marker.  It's not well blended, but I kinda like that look for this flower. I made these cards for some girlfriends who are fabulous Mom's, and they are smaller cards 2.75 by 4.25 inches. Stamp set used is from Concord and 9th -called Happy Words a great sentiment set with this bonus bloom.
