Birthday

I love that Mondo Hydrangea stamp from Essential's by Ellen.  It makes for a beautiful centerpiece and fabulous patterns for a background.  I stamped on watercolor paper with versafine, colored with Zig Clean Color in peach pink. Some blooms were full color, some no color just left over water and some in between.

Get well season

Seems like people all around are getting the sniffles or worse.  I have quite a few get well, feel better type cards to make.  This one was inspired by the Fusion Card Challenge.

I went with the photo inspiration.  I grabbed two A Muse sets Pretty Peonies and Everyday Greetings and went to work.  I added in the Hero Arts tweed pattern stencil as well.

I used inks by Simon Says Stamp - Green Leaf, Duckling, and Hero Arts Inks Butter bar, Lemon yellow, Bubblegum and a mis-died Passion flower (the correct color is more purple instead of the light pink) Versafine Onyx Black.  Each of the darker flowers is winked up with clear Wink of Stella, and a few tiny gems were added as well.

January Card Chain Challenge

2015-01I love Deborah's Card Chain Challenge.  Make a card, send it and get one from another crafter.  Deborah provides several prompts for your card, you can choose from several and use as few as one or as many as you like.

Each month includes a color palette, a sketch, and variable choices. This month included themes of snow, friendship, or Valentine's Day, as well as stencils or embossing paste.

I chose the color palette, the sketch, and the friendship theme,

2015-01

My card started with several white embossed flowers, and sentiment. Once they were fully dried I grabbed several distress inks and added color to the card front.  Once this dried, I spritzed it with pearlized water to add a subtle shimmer. I really love the color palette this month.

I also added a bit of the color combination to the inside right side.

Sign ups are going on right now for the February exchange click the link ->  February Card Chain Challenge Post.

White and Silver

Many of you might recall I am a Night Owl, mostly because my body still thinks it is living in the Pacific Time Zone, and it is not about to change.  One morning I woke up and had an idea for a card...it was about 4:30 am  less than an hour after I went to sleep. So I wrote it down and made a hasty sketch I knew I couldn't make the card right then, I was tired.  This was months ago, and I finally took some time to make the card.

The first card has varying shades of white with silver accents, the second card has a shiny barely cream colored card base along with the white and silver. Card bases are from DCWV, as are the  diecuts. There is a silver snowflake gem from Stampin up and two Simon Says Stamp Snowflake die cuts - Kate and Maryanne. The frame was cut out with MFT pierced rectangles, and the tree line is from Impression Obsession. The Noel sentiment is from AMuse, and was cut from white card, then inked with Hero Arts Silver ink.

I made two cards, as I thought the first needed more depth.  I love white on white, but the second card just seems a bit more festive to me. What do you think?

Just a bit of red

I have always had a soft spot for Hero Arts' adorable little reindeer (H5457). As I was looking through my embossing folders I came across one from Provo Craft that had similar curly bits that reminded me of the reindeer.

I thought they would make a nice card together.  I dry embossed the Tiffany folder onto a discarded 1/2 card base from DCWV. I heat embossed the reindeer in the middle and added a heat embossed AMuse sentiment from the Say it with Style set.  I couldn't resist punching out a small circle from a large piece of sequins for his nose.
