Hello-  Its a beautiful 79 degrees here today, the windows are open and I am having a wonderful day.

I sat down to play with Gina K's Spring Tulips, a recent gift.  I made 4 cards all the same but the colors and I'll be entering one to each of 4 challenges.  For Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I squished the card to a square. I am also entering at Addicted to Stamps,  Time Out Challenges and  Inspired by Challenges,

All were copic colored and had some gems added.

Crafting with Michele

 Hello-

Today, I had a playdate with Michele of I Card Everyone.  We connected through a messenger chat room and spent a couple of hours crafting and chatting. It was fun catching up.

We decided on floral cards and each used different stamps.  I settled on an old favorite Uniko's Gebera Daisy.  I simply love the profile stamp in this set.  Its impactful and easy to color.  I made two cards while we were chatting, and a few more after we finished basically similar but different colors to add to my Thank you card stash.

On this card the right and left centerline blooms are stamped on the card, the top center, lower left and right blooms were fussy cut and adhered with foam dots. Same treatment for the sentiment.  I used YG23 for the stems, and R17 and R29 for the flowers. Very simple and fast coloring.

For this card the upper left bloom and middle right bloom were stamped on the panel. The two lower left blooms were stamped and fussy cut after coloring.  The bit on the upper right is the trimmed bit from the middle left flower.  I do like off the page florals, somehow they feel more abundant.  I had no sentiment that fit in that box nearby so I hand wrote it with a sharpie.

If you haven't already go see Michele's gorgeous cards here.

Thanks much for visiting.

With Sympathy

 Hello -

Hubs is working today so I had a little face time crafting with Peggy.  Three challenges caught my eye and I am completely out of sympathy cards.  I don't care to make them when needed, so I try to make a few when they run out.  My preferences are botanicals and monochromatic cards.

Each card is for a different challenge and I am showing them individually in order of challenge due dates.

Freshly Made Sketches gave us a square sketch.

I liked the roundish leaves as the focal point with all the geometric shapes surrounding them.

I chose the lower left to upper right diagonal - Diecuts, Twine, Bright Colors.

The Less is More challenge asks for ink blending.

I chose to use a similar shade to the watercolored leaves in a new stencil recently gifted to me by friend Hilary. The blending is deliberately in  an ombre fashion.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Enjoy your weekend.

Sending Smiles

 Hello-

I have become enamored of my embossing folders again.  There are so many cards out in blogland with embossed panels with a touch of color added to the raised portions.  I decided on that technique for this card which will visit two challenges.  Color Hues and Just us Girls.

I used Simon Says Stamp's Floral Field embossing folder on a piece of black cardstock to create the daisies.  I added Simon's white pigment ink over the top of the embossed images. To that I added a black shadowed white sentiment die cut, also from Simon Says Stamp.  I randomly added 3 black enmamel dots to finish it off. This was a very quick card to put together.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Hello

Hello - Another card with those MFT Flowers in Bloom my first card with them is here.  This is my second post today and I am showing how lovely and versatile that stamp is with a mask and several stampings. The coloring took some time with that many flowers.

I am submitting the card to Challenge Up Your Life and The Flower Challenge.

Thanks so very much for stopping by.  Have a good weekend.

Thanks

 Happy Saturday!

The temps are a bit cooler today, and Peggy and I had a facetime chat and craft session.

I made a card for three challenges - Color Hues, Addicted to Stamps and Watercooler Wednesday.

Another stamp and die from my bin of unopened stuff came out to play. MFT's Flowers in Bloom. Also in play is Micro Grid Panel 2 die from Waffle Flower.  Copic markers and the matching die for the flowers helped this card come together in no time.

The die cut panel is mounted on foam squares. The flowers are glued flat. The heat embossed sentiment was first fussy cut then mounted on foam squares. A few blue gems added a finishing touch.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Hi There

Hello -

After an afternoon at our favorite little beach spot yesterday I am back in the craft room working on a few challenge cards.

Festive Friday is celebrating World Frog Day with a list of prompts.  From that list I used: Frog, Green, Lily Pad, Water and Insect.

The perfect set for this challenge contains a cute Gerda Steiner frog on a lily pad, I added some water and a lil mosquito to the mix. Copic coloring using greens for the lily pad and yellow greens for the froggy. The mosquito has wink of stella on the wings.

Thanks so much for visiting.

PS. It was a nice time at the beach, I listen to a book on tape and relaxed. This beach is on the shores of the Potomac river just on the Virginia side. Its about an hours drive for us through nice sceanery.

Hippo Bird Day

 Hello-

With spring like temps this week, my mojo must be thawing out some.  I had fun making these cards for the nephews even though they are not needed until May.

I was inspired by Time Out Challenge, Just Us Girls, and Addicted to CAS, Its a 7th birthday celebration and Birthday or celebration challenge at Time Out, and animals are the theme at Just us Girls and Addicted to Cas.

I had to make two cards, they were such fun to color.

I do love a good punny card, so the sentiment just cracked me up. I used copics to color the animals and since its for males, I kept the colors to two with the neutral for the hippos. I love MFT's dies for grounding shadows. I never know what to do with grounding the images, problem solved.

Thanks for visiting.

Cats

 Hi There -

Two recent challenges call for cats...and boy do I have a lot of cat stamps.  But for this one a recent die purchase is my choice for the challenge. These peeking cats from Simon Says Stamp are just fun.

I die cut them, added color with zigs and a bit of water brush. To add a bit of interest I used tiny gems for the eyes and noses. I think that brings out the curiosity in them.  No sentiment, this is just a note card.  I made a few for my stash.

It's going to visit Inspired By Challenge - Heart Your Cattitude, and Cupcake Inspirations - Cats.

Back at the CCC

 Hello-

I took a break from the Card Chain Challenge in September of last year.  I wasn't quick enough to sign up for January, but I am joining as of February. In case you're new to the Card Chain Challenge its more of an exchange of cards with an international group of crafters. You sign up, send a card and get one back.  You have the choice of sending internationally or not.  You know who you're sending to immediately as you send to the person you sign up after.  Each person has their name and country / state listed in the sign up.

Each month there are 6-8 options for your card. There is a color trio, a sketch, various themes and technique or product suggestions.

I went with the colors (Pewter, Ruby, Lapis) and the theme of Polar Bears and Friendship.

My card travels to Colorado this month to Lucille.  I hope she likes my polar bear.  I think he reminds me of a coca cola bear.  The reveal of all the cards can be seen HERE

Paper Hugs

 Hi there.

I am back with my March Case.  I've seen a lot of cards using color to enhance those fabulous 3D embossing folders.  The first to catch my eye was this by Yana Smakula.  Betty created a beauty with this one. Yana used a white ink pad to add color to her version, Betty added perfect pearls powder.

Light toned copics were used to add color.  This was fun. Folder used is Altenew's Flowers and Leaves.  I did spritz my paper with a touch of water first.  I got nice deep impressions with thicker card stock, and I got two panels when I used thinner (80lb) cardstock and inadvertently used two panels while embossing. They were also nice and deep. The sentiment die is from Simon Says Stamp.
