Its time for the April Twofer Challenge #26. Darnell has chosen the prompt of Rain or Umbrella.
I just picked up a new Stampin Up set called Under My Umbrella, so I was eager to play with it.
There are a few rules to play along with Twofer:
As usual once I pick my stamp, die or stencil I sketch a couple of layouts to make sure they are different designs. If I didn't I would likely make two very similar cards.
I'm clearly not a draw-ing sort, but my scribble place holders work for me. I stamped the images and colored them with copic markers. They were punched out then adhered to the focal panels and lastly mounted on to the card bases.
My light box is somewhat small to squeeze two cards in
so below are the cards individually.
I hope to see your rain or umbrella cards in the gallery this month. The challenge closes on the 24th.
Thanks for visiting.

I always have to smile at your sketches. I've never thought of making sketches beforehand, I always tinker with it. Both cards are beautiful, especially the one with the butterfly. Great idea to use the umbrellas as wings.
Two FABULOUS cards as always Cat! Think it's kinda funny that we both used the same stamp set but came up with such different cards! Yours are both awesome but I especially LOVE the butterfly card made with the 2 umbrella's...BRILLIANT!! Hugs. :0)
Your warm yellow brollies are deliciously bright and vibrant, Cat ... and oh my, what a gorgeous, vibrant butterfly ... beautiful detailing and such a genius idea! Hugs, Anita :)
Such colorful cards and clever use of the umbrella to make a butterfly, Cat.
Would you look at that stunning umbrella butterfly! Your creativity knows no bounds, Cat! I love the brilliant cool blues you used on your butterfly and the warm cozy yellows you used for your thinking of you brolly design! Great movement on that one and I love the scalloping! Take care and stay safe, my friend! Hugs, Darnell
so creative, Cat - what a wonderful species of butterfly - the infamous blue umbrella butterfly!
Beautiful cards, and brilliant idea to turn two umbrellas into a beautiful butterfly!
Two beautiful cards, Cat. The butterfly is awesome and so creative. I like the sentiment on the yellow card and the scalloped panel.
How clever you are, Cat! I would have never thought to create a butterfly using the umbrella die-cuts...WOW! I also love your scalloped border and pop of yellow on your 2nd card! Thanks so much for inspiring us to play along...Barb xx
If one can make a butterfly out of an umbrella, would it work in reverse?
So beautiful, Cat!

Two great cards, I love how you have created a butterfly with the umbrella, so clever xx
Both of these are so sweet for spring Cat and I love that you sketched them first! Stay well! xo
A butterfly umbrella!?... GENUIS! Love both your beautiful twofers.
Terrific spring cards - the scalloped die adds such a great finish.
Well, I never! An umbrella butterfly? Who would've thought? Don't know why I love umbrellas so much. You'd think I'd have all kinds of stamps and dies, but I don't. Your card with the actual umbrellas is super cute, especially 'cause they're yellow, ha! And the butterfly is gorgeous! I have to say it took me a while to see where the common factor was. Umbrella wings! I never... but now I want to try it!
Never in a million years would I have thought to make a butterfly from an umbrella stamp! Both great cards, but I do love the butterfly!
So clever, so creative and the vibrant colour and designs look fabulous Cat x.
What lovely design!! I like that you do sketches for your cards before you make them. The butterfly from the umbrella is GENIUS!!
Terrific designs, Cat! That umbrella butterfly is next level creative!
