Twofer 26

Hello -

Its time for the April Twofer Challenge #26.  Darnell has chosen the prompt of  Rain or Umbrella.

I just picked up a new Stampin Up set called Under My Umbrella, so I was eager to play with it.

There are a few rules to play along with Twofer:

As usual once I pick my stamp, die or stencil I sketch a couple of layouts to make sure they are different designs.  If I didn't I would likely make two very similar cards.

I'm clearly not a draw-ing sort, but my scribble place holders work for me.  I stamped the images and colored them with copic markers. They were punched out then adhered to the focal panels and lastly mounted on to the card bases.

My light box is somewhat small to squeeze two cards in
so below are the cards individually.

I hope to see your rain or umbrella cards in the gallery this month.  The challenge closes on the 24th.

Thanks for visiting.

I always have to smile at your sketches. I've never thought of making sketches beforehand, I always tinker with it. Both cards are beautiful, especially the one with the butterfly. Great idea to use the umbrellas as wings.

If one can make a butterfly out of an umbrella, would it work in reverse?

Well, I never! An umbrella butterfly? Who would've thought? Don't know why I love umbrellas so much. You'd think I'd have all kinds of stamps and dies, but I don't. Your card with the actual umbrellas is super cute, especially 'cause they're yellow, ha! And the butterfly is gorgeous! I have to say it took me a while to see where the common factor was. Umbrella wings! I never... but now I want to try it!

Never in a million years would I have thought to make a butterfly from an umbrella stamp! Both great cards, but I do love the butterfly!
