I have to say that this month's prompt had me scrambling.
I couldn't think of a single fruit stamp in my inventory. So used I the excuse to go shopping and picked up Sunny Studio's Fruit Cocktail. Its got plenty of words to make up fun punny sentiments and an apple, a pear, and a peach all layered for super realistic looks. I later found I had a watermelon stamp and a bunch of bananas...who knew...not me at least not in the moment.
I really like to start with a sketch for this particular challenge, because it is so easy to unintentionally make very similar cards with two different sentiment when working on this challenge - neglecting the two different design aspect.
My sketches are a jumping off point, as you can see below again I went off script once it came down to putting the cards together. But that is OKAY...they are still very different designs for two occasions.
On to the individual images:
For my encouragement / love card I used a Darice basket weave embossing folder on the card base, the fishtail dies are from MFT, I used the tea party and green valley inks from Altenew. I have them swatched out and it makes that layering stamping so much easier. The sentiment words are part of the fruit coctail stamp set.
Lots of reds playin on this card. The sentiments contained a single y, and I turned it upside down to make it an H for my punny birthday greeting.
So what fruit/s are you going to play with this month? I hope to see you in the Twofer gallery.
Thanks for visiting.

My goodness Cat, your apples are so shiny and gorgeous I can almost taste them! Can't wait to join in! Vicky x
What a great Apple stamp and two wonderful cards!
You had me at polka dots. I love your pretty apple cards! That trio of apples is just delicious! And how clever to turn the "y" into an "h!" That embossing folder on your second card is amazing. A basket full of apples is what came to mind when I saw it. Really a delightful card full of texture and a sweet apple. So glad you had to shop for this set too; it works perfectly with your designs. And btw... I love that you post your sketches! Sending hugs. xo Bev
They look really real, you want to bite into them. And both cards are amazing and great designed. Gundi
Your apples look good enough to eat, Cat! I love the embossed basket weave pattern and polka dots, too! Thanks so much for inspiring me to play along :)
O, apples! :-) They looks like a real ones. You've created two wonderful cards. I like how you turned word apple to happle. Amazing wordplay!
Hugs, Sonja
Any excuse to buy more crafting supplies....Both of your cards are fabulous and the apples are shiny and wonderful. The embossed background adds wonderful texture to card number one and what a fun idea to turn the 'y' into a 'h' on card number too. Great designs and tons of inspiration, thank you Cat x.
Two terrific takes - that apple stamp is amazing. Great takes on the challenge.
You clever, clever girl turning that Y into an H for your Happle greeting! I love it!! As always, great idea to sketch out your design ideas as a jumping off point for making two distinctly different designs. Both of them are appley made for inspiring our players!! Hugs, Darnell
Oh my goodness--so creative! I really love the designs for both cards, Cat! That embossed background with the Fishtail Flag is fabulous! Always nice when you "have" to go shopping--haha!
Guess we were thinking along the same lines this month Cat with the apples! Although I have to say I really do like your apples much better than mine...they are SOOOOO realistic looking!! Love the little sketch you started out with too...think I'm going to try that for next month, so thanks for including that in your post! And using your "y" for an "h" was ingenious...totally made me smile with that sentiment! Two FABULOUS cards Cat...love them both!! :0)
Oh, my word, your cards with these stamps are amazing! Bet you're glad you got this set now, aren't you? Wow! Funny how you forgot about your other fruit stamps, tee hee! Gee, I've never done that (ahem).
How clever to use the "y" for Happle Birthday!! I never would have thought of it. AND those apples are so shiny. They are scrumptious looking! Cute cards, Cat!
Those apples are amazing! So realistic. (Gotta love when you're "forced" to shop to complete a challenge. ROFL!) I've played in this one a couple of times but I really have to put on my thinking cap. These are fabulous!
Darling apple cards, Cat - those apples look so real; good enough to eat!!
Oh my, such gorgeous looking apples, Cat ... I'm certain they must be juicy and crunchy! Fabulous background texture paired with the banner .... and I love the tiny polka dots and that clever, genius sentiment ... what a brilliant idea ... and so fun! Hugs, Anita :)
Two great cards, very clever.
Your apples are so beautiful, Cat! Your colors are so crisp, I really think I could take a bite! I love your basket weave pattern on your first card, and how clever to use the y as an h on your birthday card!
Those apples look so realistic and two great designs. If being a design team member is not an excuse to shop when you don't have the right stuff I don't know what is! xx
What fun twofers and I love the idea of making sketches of the card designs. Never thought to try doing that before. Sunny Studio's does have some realistic images and I am loving how real your apples look. I swear I feel like I could pick one right off the computer screen and eat it! Loving the embossing on your first card and the apple on the banner-a great idea and of course the sentiment is perfect. Your second card is equally adorable and I love how you took the "y" and turned it into an "h" for a unique sentiment. Clever, very clever! Hugs, Brenda
