Twofer Second Blogoversary

This month marks our 2nd Blogaversary at Twofer and in celebration, there are prizes being offered! Please pop over to the Twofer Card Challenge post for detailed information on the prizes!

As usual  I start by picking out my stamp or die, this month I am using Altenew's Halftone Hearts.  I love the dotted effect on these hearts.   Next, I sketch out ideas for two different designs.

After that I make the cards, and sometimes I veer off the plan of my sketch a bit, but that is usually okay since they still are different designs from one another.

I used one of the medium to small hearts in the set.  I stamped it several times in Pink, then in a darker pink/purple color with a smaller dotted heart to make an oval stamped shape.  I added a sentiment strip across the center and mounted it onto a pink card base.

My second card has a row of hearts stamped vertically and fussy cut along the left edge. The panel was then mounted to a black card base and the sentiment was stamped.

Thanks so much for visiting, hope to see your heart card in the Twofer Card Challenge gallery this month!

Such a cool heart for your two fer. Definitely different designs, the one screams that is is a classic Valentine but the other is so different!

Your halftone hearts were a perfect choice for the prompt, Cat! I love how you contrasted the circular design on the first card with a vertical design on the 2nd card, and that you created a square card and an A2 card...So clever! Thanks for inspiring me to play along!

Such happy heart cards, Cat! Those Altenew stamps are just fabulous! Pink and purple play so well together, and that design is simply wonderful. Such a pretty little card! And your Valentine card is a delight. Love those hearts in that rich red. Great idea to stack them, and the black panel really makes them pop. Two fabulous cards! xo Bev

How clever to create an oval from the hearts! I can't even imagine how you put that together so precisely, but it looks awesome. Love the darker hearts in the center. I also like how you cut along the edge of the vertical red hearts for your Valentine. More clever thinking! They pop beautifully against the black. All of these halftone stamps from Altenew are way cool!

Two FABULOUS cards Cat! I'm thinking I might need to take a trip over to Altenew's site after I finish my comment as I'm in love with those hearts!! I have a dotted half tone stencil from Altenew that I love, but never realized they had hearts! Now you've got me wondering if this is going to be a dangerous relationship being on the same team for my pocketbook! Haha!! But anyway, I really love how you made a flower with the hearts in your 1st card and the pinks and purples look so lovely together!! And I just LOVE how your red hearts pop against the black on your 2nd card! Two lovely, lovely cards Cat! Hugs. :0)

Your fabulous clustered flower of hearts puts me in mind of one of those deliciously delicate, frilled carnations, Cat ... love the sense of depth you created with the stamping! Cool, graphic look for your Saint Valentine's Day card ... great colour combo ... so stylish and wonderfully handsome! Hugs, Anita :)

That's a gorgeous stamp you've chosen and two really different ways of using it. I particularly love the border you made with it, which stands out so beautifully against the black

Wonderful designs, Cat! Your cluster of hearts reminds me of a lovely pink flower and I love the sentiment with it - so cheerful! Your Valentine hearts look bold and beautiful against the contrast of the black and white background! Two great heart cards, Cat!

Great cards, Cat, and I'm impressed that you sketch them out first! I mean, I know people actually do this but I haven't gotten there yet. I like the design inside the heart too

Two very fun and creative heart cards, Cat! Your pink ring of hearts with the purple heart center is so pretty! It looks like a delicate flower. And the row of red hearts with the black underlay is fabulous. Great job fussy-cutting! xx
