Twofer Card Challenge 21

Hi There!

Its time for another Twofer Card Challenge, and this month the prompt is:

Remember the Twofer Challenge has specific requirements:

For most of the challenges I just sit down and start creating. I rarely have a plan.  That is not a good way for me to go about my design team cards for this challenge.  I need to start out with a sketch to make sure my designs are different.  I might go off the rails a bit from my sketch, but my cards end up being pretty close.  Let me know if you know where I didn't follow this months sketch!

I have a fun PTI set cut out and frosted cookies. I thought they'd be perfect for this challenge.  It took me a bit to figure out a second occasion using this set, but it finally came to me when I was drawing the sketches.

And now  individually:

My common element is the outside star shape frosting layer.

Thanks so much for coming by, and I hope to see you in the
Twofer Card Challenge gallery this month!

Mmmmmm.....Sugar cookies.....! Your cards bring back memories of my mom's best-in-the-world sugar cookies (which none of her three daughters can duplicate whatsoever!). So right away you've made me smile with these sweet cards. That edge die on your Christmas card reminds me of a fancy plate, too--clever girl! Great colors and a perfectly-sized sentiment. The "All Star" card is a great way to extend the use of that stamp too. I know this card would be great for boys birthday cards! Perfect colors too. Thanks for sharing your sketches. I really should follow your lead and do the same thing! Sending hugs. Bev

One of these days I'm going to make sketches first. You're very smart to do this. The only difference I see is the placement of the sentiment on your all-star card, right? Now... about those cards... oh, my gosh, those cookie dies are so darn cute! Love the splash of color on white with that pretty scalloped curve which reminds me of the doily you'd put in a plate of cookies. Clever you to think of a way to use the same star cookie die to make a totally different card. I get so many great ideas from this challenge. Thanks!

Great idea to start with sketches, Cat...I took your advice last month, and it's really helpful :) I love how you created your focal point on the first card by layering the cookies and your scalloped border is so pretty! I also love your repeat pattern of the star shapes on your 2nd card...Both cards are fabulous, my friend! Thanks for your inspiration :)

What a great idea to use sketches! I like your Christmas cookies all snuggled together. And your repeated stars are cute. These are both just terrific! So happy to be joining your girls this month!

Great cards, Cat. I don't plan my cards out on paper, but I do think about the layout in my head. This is a new challenge to me - the Twofer.

I love both of your designs, Cat, and I always enjoy seeing your sketches as well. Such a great idea to turn your cookie frosting into an all star card! They look so yummy all together and frosted up for Christmas too!

As always, you rocked the two distinctly different designs element of the challenge by smartly sketching out your layouts first, Cat! What a great choice for a sweet prompt to use the sugar cookie dies and I love how you cleverly used the star cookie for an encouragement card! The layout is very versatile in terms of where you can place the sediment. And your cluster of cookies with the sweet sediment make a great Christmas card! I love the use of the arched and scalloped border, too!! Hugs, Darnell

Your Christmas cookies look so scrummy, Cat ... fabulous with the doily-esque scalloped edging ... and so tempting! What a brilliant idea for your star card ... bold, bright and wonderfully encouraging! A delicious twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
