Hello Hydrangea

I have hydrangea plants in front of the house. They are the blue mop-headed ones. They bloom beautifully the first bloom, then some sort of fungus takes over and slowly kills the leaves. We spray with copper base anit-fungal, but the result is always the same.

So when I saw Essential's by Ellen's Mondo Hydrangea stamp...I knew I could have the hydrangeas I wanted all year long.

I used MFT's arched stax to mimic the mop head shape and made my own patterned paper for the back drop. The blooms were colored with Tombow markers in purple and blue and blended on watercolor paper. The hello die comes from WPlus9.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

I have a different problem with my own hydrangea, Cat ... they just don't seem to bloom!! The exact same reason I have this stamp! Gorgeous background, gorgeous card!

When i had a yard many years ago, they recommended putting something in the soil around the bushes. also, we used to cut them back quite a bit at sometime during the year. sorry, i don't remember what or when. back then we had an old timer nursery guy that knew everything about flowers and bushes. i love your card! so lovely!

That's too bad you have so much trouble with your Hydrangeas! I must say that you've colored these beautifully, and I love how you mimicked their shape with the arched die cut...so clever, Cat! Gorgeous card!
