Catching up

Hi  I have been trying to get some card making done between household chores and a project hubs has me working on.  Today I wanted to get this card in for the Lawnscapping Challenge #99 - clean and simple.

I went with one of my favorite non-holiday sets Our Friendship Grows.  I love these sunflowers.  They were stamped and heat embossed in white on watercolor paper.  Coloring was done with Distress Markers in  Vintage Photo, Black Soot, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Crushed Olive and Forest Moss.

My sentiment came from an unknown set from A Muse Studios.  I liked the sway of the sentiment and how it anchored my off set stems.  I heat embossed it with Rangers Liquid Platimum. The flowers and leaves were bathed in wink of stella - my brush that ran out of liquid and I refilled with water for watercolor projects. To give the stems a bit of contrast a very faint wash of Distress Marker in Tumbled glass was added in a very loose pool around the images.  I couldn't help myself...I had to add a few clear sequins as well to finish the card.

Create a background

I am joining in the Lawnscaping challenge once again.  The current challenge #98 is to create a background

I used the first Lawn Fawn stamp set I owned for the sentiment, and another favorite for the background.  I heat embossed in white the sunflowers on watercolor paper, then I added in color.  Once the panel was dry I trimmed it to fit an A2 card base.

For the sentiment, I cut a notebook paper shape, and added the sentiment, inked it with some distress ink and then embellished it with another sunflower and two leaves.  I added glossy accents and Wink of Stella to the embellishing flower and leaves.

Lawnscaping White on White Challenge #95

During my last trip to California I picked up quite a few Lawn Fawn items.  So, I  have decided to check out the Lawnscaping challenge blog.  The current challenge is White on White and is open through Wednesday December 10, 2014. I am entering this card in that challenge.

I added some snow and glitter using a stencil and some Distress Glitter.  Then I gathered three Lawn Fawn dies - Tag you're it, Scripty Joy, and Stitched Snowflakes. I cut them all out of some white shimmer cardstock by Bazzill and layered the snowflakes and the sentiment on the tag.  This was then placed on the card base with 1/8th inch foam tape.  A bit of white thread was added to finish the tag.
