Update, somehow this post disappeared from the dashboard in blogger. So I am reposting. I had l read a couple of comments and in posting them I must have somehow deleted the original post.
Greetings-
October birthdays are sneaking up on me and I am not as prepared as I used to be. So this on is for someone who's 40th birthday theme is Alice in Wonderland. I've never read it, seen it and so I was clueless. I am also not an artist. I looked at some iconography and went with red blooms and a wonky hand drawn checkerboard panel in black and white.
I hope she likes it. I feel out of my depth on this one. I will send it to the galleries at Colorful Options (used black white and red) and AAA Birthday Game -Big and Bold.
Thanks much for stopping by.

This is awesome for a Alice and Wonderland Theme, Cat! You nailed it!! :) xx
You captured the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland perfectly Cat...beautiful card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
I'm pretty sure you aced that assignment, Cat! Your card is wonderful and definitely fits into the theme -- and a great theme it is for a 40th! Bold blooms, but I think it's your wonky checkerboard that brought the theme home -- very nice
Stunning! Very fun and celebratory.
You certainly did nail it, Cat, and it's bold, bright, and gorgeous! I read Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass when I was 8 years old. An odd choice of books, but times were different. Someone brought it to me when I was home sick in bed for a rather prolonged period. I devoured books during that time and I can remember all of them. I'm sorry about you losing your post and comments. I'm glad you still had the card picture because I wouldn't want to miss this well thought out creative beauty!
Hand drawn?? Really fabulous, Cat! and so bold as a backdrop for your beautifully colored blooms!

Love the way your vibrant blooms pop on your hand drawn background! Fantastic card, Cat!
You did an awesome job on that background and on these gorgeous red flowers, Cat! How could she not love it!
