 Greetings-

When I am away from my craft space for any length of time...I lose all "muscle memory" to whip together a card. It is infuriating, since I have little patience to begin with...and the heat is making me so cranky.

I tossed two cards in the trash (I rarely do that, I find a way to fix it.) Before I got the card I liked and wanted to submit to Freshly Made Sketches.

I did make a goof, but I think it just adds a bit of texture (my third panel wasn't big enough when I relooked at the sketch.

Next I played with Color Throwdown, and made a guy card...I have 4 left to make for the year, so I was happy with those suggested colors.

Happily I also used quite a few items from the new bin and it is actually getting a bit floppy...as in not stuffed so full the stamps, dies, and stencils don't move about.  Another win!

I need some more practice making cards before I forget altogether how to construct one.  These were a good start.  Thanks for visiting.

I feel your pain! When I'm away from it for a few days, I get in a slump. Your cards look great to me, Cat! I like that little sprig of flowers and your ball cap makes a great guy card!

I totall hear you on time away and heat - but I LOVE what you finally got to in your card! Such pretty colors and the dainty flower and simple patterns are just right together. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Your perseverance paid off Cat and you have 2 fabulous cards! I do hear you about losing your ability to just make a simple card after not playing for awhile, and I also struggle to remember how to post sometimes too if it's been awhile! Oh geesh...the joys of aging!! And I'm not too thrilled with the heat and humidity either and tend to be cranky if I have to go out in it...would rather just sit and read. Am I lazy or what?! Hang in there my friend...Fall has to come sooner or later, right?!!!!! Hugs. :0)

Two great cards, Cat - just love the delicate flower & your take on the sketch - so fresh! And the baseball cap is perfect for a guy card!!

Your first card is perfectly sweet and spot-on for the challenge - great layout for the flowers on the elongated diamond. Your second card is a perfect masculine card, and a perfect sentiment too.

I am sorry to hear that you chucked 2 cards away. I bet they weren't as bad as you think. I love the two you have shared with us today and how great to have reduced the size of your unused bin. I am doing my best to ignore all new products as I feel quite overwhelmed with what I have. I need a grand sort out I think. You have a lot going on at the moment so don't beat yourself up. You will soon gat back into it when things settle down xx

Cat, I think you've reignited those muscles and your love for card making just beautifully - how have I forgotten to play at FMS two weeks in a row?
Of course, you know how much I love the yellow and grey - but that ball cap sure is a cutie for one of the guys!
Now I just know you'll be back soon, right? Sure hope so!

I just love this yellow and grey color palette, this is so cheerful and so refreshing! The various patterns work so well together, too. Great job with your "trash" ! Thanks for joining us at FMS this week.

I'm the same Cat ... if I'm away from card making for any length of time, I loose momentum. You did good with the two cards on this post. The gray and yellow are so perfect together and I LOVE those beautiful flowers. And your baseball cap card is perfect using the colours from the challenge. I know you tossed a few, but we all do that sometimes. xx
