Muse 288

Hello Again,

After lunch and a bit of football I was back at my crafty desk.  This time I am playing along with Muse. Laurel Beard was our muse this week.  Her card is pictured below.

I was inspired by:
Landscape Orientation
Camoflage Technique
Panel on top of a card base

I used Wplus9's Festive Greetings (cause I gotta have the lights!) and Altenew's in line Alphas.

First I stamped and colored a bunch of light strings. I tried to keep the colors in order but it didn't happen.  Next I laid out my dies, measured made sure they were straight and ploped them down on my cutting mat and sent them through.  Since there are 2 r's I had to leave space to cut the second one on the next pass through.

Aaaakkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Somehow during my placing the dies on the cutting plate the first r went wonky.  Fortunately with a word like merry it can be off kilter, and I think it adds to the festivity of the card.  So I purposely cut the second r off kilter as well.

I mounted the die cut letters onto black fun foam and replaced them into the panel once it had been adhered to the card base.  Lastly a bit of shimmer for all those bulbs courtesy of a Spectrum Noir shimmer brush pen.

Thanks much for coming by!

Muse 182

Anita Bowden is our Muse this week, and I am getting my card in barely under the wire!

Balloons are so festive and I love the translucent quality Anita has brought to her card with the overlapping balloons.

Here is my take:

Stamps are from SSS , and the Happy banner is from MFT.

Musings and Muse

Hubs and I just returned from his work conference in Orlando.  Hubs was away all day and had some evening meetings as well, so I had time to myself. I took no crafty stuff with me. I did spend time by the pool,  got some reading done and napped.  I napped every day, sometimes more than once. Naps are so much better when you are older than those enforced naps in kindergarten on a hard classroom floor. No wonder I didn't like napping as a child. I even stayed away from my electronic gadgets for the most part. It was a vacation.

I had made cards ahead to post while I was gone, a few weeks ago. Then I was consumed with the packing and getting the house in order. I do not like to come home to a mess left by frantic packing. Tomorrow is soon enough to start on the laundry, so today I get to play.

First up, Muse. Michele has created a lovely flower card in purples and lavender.  I went with her floral theme, the layers of shapes, and her color theme.

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp Viola Sprouts
Peerless Watercolors
WPlus9 Sunshine Layers
Avery Elle Wonky Stitches

New Thanks

Over at Muse, Michele provided us with this inspiration:

http://icardeveryone.blogspot.com/2016/03/muse-card-club-challenge-156.html

I like the angle and the raised die cut. They both really stand out.  It also give me a chance to combine challenges and include this in Darnell's NBUS#6 Challenge since I'll be using my new Mondo Hydrangea stamp set from Essentials by Ellen.

                                                      Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

I stamped it twice using some masking for a nice full half card of petals.  They were colored with copic's (RV000, RV00, RV02, RV52, YG25) and then a Winnie and Walter die was used to cut the thanks, I also cut it out of fuchsia fun foam (how's that for alteration?)

I have a slight angle in my version. I had hoped to make the die cut stand out a bit by using the colored fun foam, as well as some WOS and Glossy Accents.  In additon to muse, this also is going to Darnell's last day of her NBUS Challenge since my stamp was new.

Muse 148

Anita Bowden has made us such an adorable get well card for this week's Muse Challenge...I just had to case it.

Her card :

I found some small-ish flowers on a Simon Says Stamp set, and got out my journaling pen to doodle some lines connecting them.  Then I  colored them with Copics added a matching gem in each center, a bit of glitter tape and that's my take on her sweet card. The sentiment is from Altenew.
