Craving Navy

I was taken by the image at Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger

 I loved the navy stripes and that neutral rug. I needed a man card so here is my take on the trigger.

I so loved the colors in the Tuesday Trigger. I love tangerines...they the best thing about fall produce in my opinion! These colors yellow, green and orange are so smile generating. How can one not smile when faced with these fresh colors. 

The trigger is soft, and my card is the bold version of these colors. Some chevron die cuts, a three times inked up canvas stripe stamp, a green flower...because It just looked right, and a bold stamp from Fresh Squeezed Stamps. Maybe, their logo pulled at me for this trigger...lol.

Vintage Vagabond?

Hi when I first saw this Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World, it reminded me of some old brass hanging lamps my mother had gotten in Morocco. They were brass with lots of tiny cutouts, as a child I really disliked those lamps. I came upon those lamps again this summer as I was helping my Dad go through the garage. We both traded stories about them, me cleaning him fighting to hang them up after each house move, we were a military family.  

I thought about it for a while and looked at the picture again tonight. My biggest difficulty was thinking of the appropriate sentiment. Tell me what you think.

All Sweetness and Light at MFW's Tuesday Trigger

 

I absolutely want to crawl into the bed pictured in last weeks Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger, pillows, florals, yellows...right up my alley.  I had to play along.

I didn't really feel that any of my stamps would do justice to the bedspread, so I found some patterned paper with soft flowers, some yellow on yellow dotted paper, some enamel accents and die cut a few letters...did you notice the "A" on the side table? I love the yellows, the textures, and the headboard with the trim accent.  Those  were my inspirations for my card.

Tuesday Trigger

When I saw this picture at Moxie Fab Worlds Tuesday Trigger, I wanted to play along. The things that struck me were  the pinkish flowers, the silver serving spatula and the wood grain the desserts are sitting on. Of course I had to change it up some.

I dry embossed some water color paper with a Sizzix wood grain embossing folder. Then I added fuchsia Inktense pencil with a water brush. I just wanted a wash of pink, with the  wood grain still showing through. I heat embossed flowers (Hero Arts) with Winter White embossing powder (silvery white) onto vellum. They shimmer, but that is hard to capture in a photograph.

I drew on Silver Zig marker paint around the edges of the card base. 

The edges of the die were patted into versamark prior to cutting the shape.  I then stamped the sentiment with the die still on the vellum. I pried them apart carefully and added the embossing powder then melted it with the heat tool.

The flowers were adhered to the wood grain panel with foam dots. The sentiment is adhered flat.

Tuesday Trigger Frame by Frame

Another great inspiration photo for the
Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World.
Those (what look to be) crocheted frames 
are absolutely adorable and look remarkably like some spellbinder dies.  So that was my inspiration for this card.

Ready for Red

I loved the Tuesday Trigger picture from Moxie Fab World this week I knew I had to try a card.  

 I used a couple of new Hero Arts products, a stamp, and a new mid-tone ink in Red Royal.

I started with grey cardstock, dry embossed it, then swiped a white pigment ink pad over it to get the white raised images.  (I did try using the folder and a grey ink in a mock letterpress techinque but the ink failed to cover well.) The image and sentiment was stamped on white card with the red royal ink, add a brown mat and here is my take on the trigger:

Soup to Nuts?

Patterned Paper

When I saw the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger photo earlier this week it reminded me of a piece of patterned paper by KI Memories, Inc., that I have been holding on to for quite a while.

So I decided it was time for the paper to leave my stash.

I decided to tear strips from the paper and layer them horizontally down the card.  

I then cut a piece of balsa wood and inked the edges. A strip of the patterned paper was adhered down the center of the wood. 

I wrapped some threads around it and tied it off with a bow, then added a sentiment strip in blue with brown pearl accents.
