11-07-25

 Hello-

Its been awhile.  I was not in my crafty space much...it doubles as the guest room.  My folks were visiting from Utah. We had a lovely time together, and while we face time with regularity nothing is as good as an in-person visit.

I have a card for three challenges: Freshly Made Sketches for the design, Color Hues for the colors, and Double D Challenges for the focal point.

  • Stamps: Pretty Pink Posh Autumn Wreath
  • Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Markers: Copic E11,19.23,41,47,99; YR7,9.15.23.68
  • Papers:  Recollections

It was hard to get back into the groove for me after this year of starts and stops due to our travels and moving states.

However, after my folks left I rearranged a few things in the crafty space and its working so nicely now. Things are more in reach.

I also finally solved my chair problem.  We have thick padding and a high-pile carpet.  On top of that I have a gaming chair (its heavy) and my chair mat was unable to handle the combination of soft floor and heavy chair plus me.  I found a bamboo chair mat after searching on reddit.  Its made for deep pile carpets, but it is not cheap, luckily I found the size I wanted at Targets online store and it was 50.00 less than at the mfg site-- whoo hoo.  Now I can roll to my hearts content from one side of the room to the other. That sounds more impressive than it is. The mat is 4 feet by 6 feet, which fits almost perfectly between my shelving units and my file cabinets on the long end and between the bed legs and just under the desk legs keeping my floor vent clear.

I loved the view from my second floor window in Maryland.  I have lovely views here too. The back of the house looks over a field in to some woods.  The front looks out on to our little community.  We have a fabulous tree out front and its ablaze right now.

So thats it for today.  Hopefully I will be back soon.  I still have a handful of autumn cards to finish. Thanks for stopping by and indulging my rambling.

Glad you feel back in the swing of things again, life can get in the way but family visits always make everything better! Great card for your jump back into cardmaking, the wreath is pretty, can't wait to see more. Meanwhile, enjoy that mat (something I need for my carpeted floor) and the beautiful views!

I love the look of your autumn wreath, Cat! I really go for the fun style of it. You worked it perfectly for the three challenges and I'm so glad our Double D fall wreath challenge was one of them! Thank goodness you've gotten a more comfortable arrangement in your craft room. It makes all the difference. I love the idea of a bamboo mat. It's strong and it looks great. Your tree out front is gorgeous! We have four maple trees, but it's a rare fall that they turn anything other than yellow and brown, except for the one that starts out with red leaves. I really enjoyed your post today, Cat!

It is always such a nice feeling when you resolve an ongoing issue. I am pleased to hear about your new mat and I love the sound of your thick pile carpet. How lovely and cosy that must be. Your simple wreath card is perfect xx
