 Hello-

No challenges...just a man card.

I used some old SU patterned papers in green and blue. I like the sketchy feel of it...and it kinda carries through on my stamping which is a bit sketchy too. Lol.  I think it works.

I broke my Vagabond a while back, and replaced it with the gemini jr.  I have been a bit gun shy about using it for embossing folders however.  I'd been using my old spellbinders grand calibur for embossing. On a whim, I tried using my old texture boutique (little hand bag looking thing from sizzix and stampin up years ago) It worked a dream even on those thick 3d embossing folders...did you know you do not need to put a plate on both sides of those to emboss/run them through your die cutter? I used just the bottom plate with the folder on top.  Who knew.

So as long as I am using those that are not the 6x6 squares I've got a perfect solution. Just thought I'd share.

Thanks for stopping in.

Loving all the texture on this card Cat and it definitely makes a great guy card!! Glad to hear you found a great way to emboss with only one plate...that's what I use with my 3D embossing folders too! Hugs. :0)

I really love this, Cat, and it is an absolutely perfect combination of paper and stamping. No challenges necessary. Just enjoy. I'm glad you found a way of embossing. I would be sad without it.

Wonderful colors - the style of the stamp works wonderfully with that background.

I used to have a texture boutique. I bought it before I got a die cutting machine because I thought I would always use my scan n cut for cutting and just wanted a way to emboss. I was a bit naive and ignorant back then! Of course a proper die cutting machine soon followed and the little handbag never got used. I gave it away in the end. I am so glad to hear that it has come back into use in your craft room. Love your sketchy stamping, it goes perfectly with that paper xx

Love this sailboat, Cat, and the "sketchy" look! A tip, put the acrylic plate on top of the embossing folder. Letting the embossing folder go through the roller with something on top can break the folder and tends to give it quite a bend. At least that's what I've found with the Big Shot.

I'm loving the 'canvas' texture of your sketchy stamping, Cat! This sailboat is gorgeous as is the green and navy!

Masculine - check, sketchy feel - check, awesome card - check! Great card for a man, and great advice for us ladies! I think giving tips is essential to all of us at some point

Very cool look for a masculine card. I find that I often need to use weird shims to get embossing folders to work in my Gemini Jr, but that is because it seems so many of them are different thicknesses now.

Oh such a great card! Love the background which goes perfectly with the image! So glad you have a good solution for embossing. I still don't use my gemini except for the folder that came with it. Luckily I can use my Platinum 6.
