Its so hard coming up with a blog post title. So often I used the sentiment. I've decided to just use the publishing date. Easy -- less to think about.
I've missed playing along at Freshly Made Sketches; it seems as if the week just flies by and I miss it. The sketch this week is below. I am using a new stamp set from Close to My Heart called Ooh la la Macarons. While I have never tasted a macaron they look so delicious. As a child I loved meringue candies so I'd probably like a macaron. Looking out in the web land, it seems macarons are often monochromatic, with the filling and the cookie the same color...though I found a few with white centers. I loved the look of the white centers and went with that but left my card in a monochromatic theme.
I clear heat embossed the image using versamark and clear powder. After adding some more color to the colored cardstock with pencils, I fussy cut the image and used the die to cut a shadow layer. I added white lace stickles over the white penciled centers for texture and just a bit of glitz. They really look yummy!
Are you itching for a sweet bite?
Another challenge that seem to fly by for me is Color Throwdown. I love this week's colors of Orange, Brown and Gray. Those are fab colors for a fall card - for sure.
I actually forgot how much I love this Stampin Up set called Forever Fern. I love the etched looking leaves that are on rubber and stamp beautifully every time. There is a stamp of random dots included in the set that I love. I thought it added a nice edge to the leaves. Ink colors were Burnt Orange (SSS), Dark Chocolate (SSS) and Charcoal (HA).
Thanks very much for taking time to come by and visit.
Cat, I adore that Forever Fern. It reminds me of one of our playdates - which makes me love it more. Gorgeous with these inks!
Those yummy cookies do look tasty, my friend. Mighty cute, too!
Your macaroons look delicious, Cat! They're making me want a taste! Love the foliage in Fall colors on the second card!
your macaroon card is so cute and love the fall leaves card - and what a good idea to use the date as your blog title - agree it's difficult to think of titles all the time
I love your color throwdown card. A perfect CAS and such a lovely way to use these colors!
You've made me hungry! :-) And I love your cards the last two days especially.
Mmh yummy!!! I love macarons!!! I can never get enough of it.
Sweet and girly first card and what fabulous colours and design on the second Cat x.
Your macarons look absolutely delicious and what lovely sparkle. Your second card is wonderful too and that random dots stamp is very impressive and works so well to edge your leaves. A lovely design xx
Macarons are so pretty and I don't think I've ever seen one in person, let alone tasted one. Suddenly that strikes me as awfully strange. Yours look right out of a sweet shop! Forever Fern is one of my fave SU sets ever and so glad I got it. I love it in these colors, so soft, and the speckled edge makes a nice finish.
These are both lovely! I love the sparkle and shine with these sweet macarons. So glad you joined in with the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
Two terrific challenge entries. The etched leaves are particularly lovely!
I love your elegant use of our colors, Cat!!! Thank you so much for joining in the fun at the Color Throwdown this week!
Great idea to use sparkle for the lines! Absolutely love the Fall card & need to try that color combo as I've never used gray with orange & brown!
