Hello-
My dreaded vampire hours have returned. My days are flipped night for day. The only productive thing I get done is catching up on reading. I can't do laundry as our washer and dryer are near the bedroom and hubs is a light sleeper. Ditto with my crafty space and its inherent noises (Paper cutter, heat gun...)
I have a card today to post to a few challenges. CAS Mix Up Challenge, NBUS, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
At CAS Mix up we need to use a stencil with heat embossing. My NBUS item is the stencil Peeking Chrysanthemums from Artplorations. Simon is asking for favorite technique- for me its still the magic of heat embossing which sucked me into this hobby.
I cut a slimline card base and inked up the stencil with Hero Arts Neon pink ink heavily at the center then very lightly towards the longer petals. On the main bloom at the bottom I added versamark then lifted the stencil to heat and add sticky embossing powder through the stencil and some very fine glitter after activating the sticky powder with heat. One more light heating and it was nicely glittered. Lastly I added ink to the remaining images on the stencil but left them plain. (The embossing changed the ink color just a bit, but I like that it keeps the focus on the bottom bloom.)
After adding the sentiment, I chopped off about an inch from the top of the card. The new dimensions are 7.5 inches by 3.5 inches.
Below is a close up of the heat embossing.
Thanks so much for visiting.

Beautiful vibrant pink and just embossing one flower really draws the eye and makes it the focal point. Just gorgeous.
WOW - gorgeous! love the sparkle with the soft pink!
Gorgeous pink stenciled dahlias slimline card, Cat. I love your pretty pink and especially your pretty heat embossed main dahlia imagine. Your card will definitely make someone happy:-) TFS and joining us at CAS Mix up, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
How gorgeous this is! You're truly a heat embossing expert. What a beautiful stencil, and love the neon pink. Interesting how the heat embossing changed the color a little. I also love how you embossed only the one bloom so it becomes the main player. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up, Cat! I'm sorry about your vampire hours coming back. I know the feeling, but it doesn't stay with me as long. My stamp room is right across the hall from the bedroom, so I can't do much, either. I hope you return to daytime hours soon. ps: Received the cutest little snowman card... I'm smiling! Hugs
Your card is STUNNING, Cat! I LOVE the stencil you've used. I have an order in with STAMPlorations and just checked it hoping I orderd the peeking dahlias stencil. Nope ... more shopping in my future! :) I love it done in tones of pink and so pretty with the large bloom at the bottom sparkling from the glitter. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! Love the new colours of your blog! xx

Wow, this must be so glistening in real life, Cat! It's a gorgeous card! You've hit on yet another item in the ol' Playhouse that's never been opened: sticky e/p. I love the effect of the embedded schparkle! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS!
If I ever wake up in the middle of the night, I'll message you. But, seriously, I know that can't be easy, so I hope you revert back to human soon! Hugs, Darnell
