Scrambling and an Update

I have spent the last two months in California, house sitting for my Dad, and spending a few weeks with him after his return. I enjoyed spending time in California catching up with my girlfriends, and scrapbooking...I seem to do more of that on the west coast.

Hubs traveled with me for the first two weeks, but then we had 6 weeks apart.  It was NOT fun. For most of our life together that has not been unusual. We met while living on opposite coasts.  However, since I retired in 2012 we have spent most of our time together.

I am so glad to be back in Maryland, the fall colors are starting to pop, and I really missed Hubs!

Saturday was a busy day. I started it out with a Hero Arts Scramble...90 minutes to get instructions, design and make the card, photograph it and upload to the thread.  Sounds like a lot, but it really can be done. I have to admit that it was a rush to finish them at first, but after a year and a half of participating, 90 minutes feels like a vacation.

The instructions were to make a card with snowflakes and glitter. I used a snowflake background stamp and a grunge type sentiment stamp from Hero Arts. Papers by American Crafts, Versamark Ink, and Stampendous Winter Wonderland embossing powder (white with silver glitter). Hard to photograph glitter for some reason...

After the scramble we attended a local fall arts festival, listened to the Air Force Band Max Impact, and strolled the small farmers market.  We picked up some mums and changed out the front door flower pots, I had impatiens there for the summer and they were starting to get stringy. I am on the hunt for some smaller gourds and a pumpkin or two to finish my front door fall scene.

I was in California and mojo-less for my 1 year blog-oversary; so I will be celebrating with some blog candy for commenters on my 200th post which will be coming up soon. Have a wonderful day!

What a gorgeous blue background for this sparkly card, Cat! I love this. It seems that never have time to do the scrambles, but I love seeing what others do in such a short time.

Is it weird your life seems fun to me? I guess how you write about your hubs & the bi-coastal life, it just seems romantic to me. Gorgeous card, that blue is so pretty!
