Hello-
Today I have a lil' project and a useful web page link to share with you. I wanted to have a couple of boxed card sets for hostess gifts, just a little something. Each has 5 cards and envelopes and I made a coordinating box envelope for them. It was not smooth sailing...lol. I was determined to do it though.
I often buy on clearance card bases and envelopes from Stampin up. They are never flimsy. But they are oddly sized 4.25 by 6.25 inches. I have clear boxes for A2 card sets.
Now I could just cut off 3/4 of an inch to get an A2 card...but then the coordinating envelops will be off and I still have the box size to deal with. So I tried working with the new size. I had to make layers the space was just to odd for me to get a good CAS card. Then I had to search for 12x12 paper that somehow coordinated...
My last hurdle was the box envelope, made preferably with the envelope punch board. Lots of A2, 4bar tutorials on you tube but I didn't easily find on for non-traditional sizes. So I went with the punch board provided measurements for an envelope that was an inch bigger than my cards and added a second scoreline inside the recommended that was 3/4 an inch from the first by increasing the first score mark by 3/4 of an inch. It worked out okay.
Today as I was perusing you tube I came across The Crafty Owl and her dandy box buster program. Problems solved, you can make an envelope box for any size card.
I used the note cards from Stampin Up that coordinate with the Hand Penned Petals Suite. The purple set contains the flower images from that stamp set. The sentiment on both sets and the image on the teal set is from Wishing You Well. The box flap tucks into the large circle for a soft closure.
No challenges today, this was just for fun.
Thanks for popping in.
