11-11-25

 Hello-

Its the early hours of the day.

To all the Veterans, Thank you for your service.

Having grown up with my Dad in the military, I have a high level of respect and gratitude for all they do.

For this card I pulled out an oldie, but fun stampset.  I will be submitting the card to the As You See It Challenge (Harvest), Four Seasons (fall), and If You Give a Crafter a Cookie (Fall Leaves and Turkey time Inspo pic I loved all the orange shades).

Some stamping, coloring, fussy cutting, thin mats, and a big sentiment.  This one took me a couple of hours to get through.  But it felt more flowing, so I am making progress getting back into the grove.

Hi There,

We had a couple of inches of snow overnight. It is so bright outside today. I am loving it.

I sat down to make a card for the Paper Players Challenge. It took me forever, sigh.  I so need to make more cards to get back my muscle memory for making them. Course a new set up is slowing me down too, but I know before long I should be back at my usual speed.

Some of the details are hard to see/photograph. The Cajun Craze panel is embossed with the Fall Leaf 3d SU EF.

  • Stamps:  SSS Giving Thanks
  • Dies: SU Stitched with Whimsey
  • Inks: SU Early Espresso, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze
  • Papers:  Hammermill, SU Cajun Craze
  • Embossing: SU Leaf Fall 3d

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.

 Hello-

Its been awhile.  I was not in my crafty space much...it doubles as the guest room.  My folks were visiting from Utah. We had a lovely time together, and while we face time with regularity nothing is as good as an in-person visit.

I have a card for three challenges: Freshly Made Sketches for the design, Color Hues for the colors, and Double D Challenges for the focal point.

  • Stamps: Pretty Pink Posh Autumn Wreath
  • Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Markers: Copic E11,19.23,41,47,99; YR7,9.15.23.68
  • Papers:  Recollections

It was hard to get back into the groove for me after this year of starts and stops due to our travels and moving states.

However, after my folks left I rearranged a few things in the crafty space and its working so nicely now. Things are more in reach.

I also finally solved my chair problem.  We have thick padding and a high-pile carpet.  On top of that I have a gaming chair (its heavy) and my chair mat was unable to handle the combination of soft floor and heavy chair plus me.  I found a bamboo chair mat after searching on reddit.  Its made for deep pile carpets, but it is not cheap, luckily I found the size I wanted at Targets online store and it was 50.00 less than at the mfg site-- whoo hoo.  Now I can roll to my hearts content from one side of the room to the other. That sounds more impressive than it is. The mat is 4 feet by 6 feet, which fits almost perfectly between my shelving units and my file cabinets on the long end and between the bed legs and just under the desk legs keeping my floor vent clear.

I loved the view from my second floor window in Maryland.  I have lovely views here too. The back of the house looks over a field in to some woods.  The front looks out on to our little community.  We have a fabulous tree out front and its ablaze right now.

So thats it for today.  Hopefully I will be back soon.  I still have a handful of autumn cards to finish. Thanks for stopping by and indulging my rambling.

HI there,

My Dad and his wife are coming to visit for several weeks, so I will be absent from the blogosphere until the end of October. Today I have a another Halloween card to share.

Its a landscape gate fold card. The DSP (Cute Halloween) and Stamps and Dies(Fright Night) are from SU. I kinda like the monochromatic feel of this one.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll "See" you all at then end of next month.

Hello-

1 more card.  This one for my MIL.  Shes one of the best people I know and she loves pink. This one is visiting the gallery at Can you Handle the Pressure.  The brief is to use an embossing folder with the option of layers.

A simple embossed panel repeats the sentiment.  The cosmos stem was cut 3 times making a thick layered die cut. The center was mounted on a bit of foam tape giving it more dimension.  All parts of the Cosmo's top layer were colored with alcohol markers.

Thanks for stopping by.

  • Dies: SSS Cosmos Stem
  • Markers: Altenew R502, Copic RV000, YG17,67; Y19,38
  • Papers: Hammermill
  • Embossing: Sizzix
