Red Birthday

One of the crafty ladies in my Tuesday Crafty group had a birthday recently, and she decided to throw her own party.  She invited 7 of the gals to go to Paradise PA, and spend the day at Farmhouse Memories.  This is a fabulous shop with cropping space for 8 above the shop.  The shop itself has card-making, scrap-booking, and fabrics.  Something for everyone in our group.  I have to say the fabrics were phenomenal prints.

I took a few pictures along the way.

I was so thankful to be included in this wonderful day with some fantastic women.  It was the most fun of any girly/crafty get together I have had since moving to the east coast.  The 2.5-3 hour drive each way went by so fast as well.  It was a long day, but it flew by in an instant there was so much that was new to me.  I had never seen tobacco drying in fields. The wash hanging out had us all convinced Thursday was laundry day in Amish country.

Here is the birthday card I made for the birthday gal, she loves RED.

In my rush to get everything together before the outing I forgot to photograph the card.  So the next Tuesday I took a quick picture at the card's new home.  My friend is a fiesta ware fan, and I loved where she displayed the card, so I took the photo as is.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Oh how fun! I think I have heard of this store, but never been there. The card is so lovely and looks great in your friend's home. Glad you had a fun trip!

  2. sounds like you had a wonderful day with your friends - and such a cute card for the birthday girl!

  3. Cute card and it sounds like a fun day!

  4. Bet she leaves it up all year--love that doggy, too--wonderful card, Cat! What a fun outing--I'm really jealous! Used to have a couple friends who'd do a birthday outing with me to Portland stores & now I don't see them & the stores are gone!

  5. What a perfect day, and your card is too! The red is just gorgeous!

  6. OH, Cat, what an absolutely lovely card for your friend. I love the sweet doggy against the FABulous red dot background. The red is STRIKING, and dots always catch my eye.

    What a FUN outing!

  7. What a fun time you must have had, Cat! Thanks for sharing photos with us, especially the laundry hanging on the clothesline...I still love to hang my clothes to dry :) Your card is fabulous, too! The pup is adorable, and the polka dot base is really clever! I'll bet your friend loves it!
