Merry

Okay, bear with me one last post today. I had a fun few hours in my crafty space and had to share.

I'm closer to my 5 Christmas cards per month Goal now...these make the stash count 30.

Both Less is More and The Card Concept have Christmas themes this go round, and the colors at the card concept reminded me of my love of aqua/teal and red.  Its quite festive.  Less is More is asking for a one layer card...and there are two definitions...is it one layer meaning the card base (I went with this one  just in case) or one layer meaning its okay to have all your stamping on a single panel adhered to a card base.  What is your definition?

In any case here are my cards, one for each challenge using a new to me Avery Elle set.  It might be discontinued...I am not sure.

Peace is for Less is More, one layer.

Merry, is a clean and simple card for The Card Concept.

My words of advice if you get or have this and have  yet to ink it...stamp the word first then the greenery. Much easier to line them up.  My trash bin can attest to that fact.  Since its new to me, I am also going to pop over to NBUS#16 with both cards.

Thanks so much for visiting.

  2. Pretty and CAS -- way to go! Isn't it funny how we learn which you "need" to do first on these layering stamps? My trash has been full a time or two...

  4. There's nothing like a Christmas card to cool you off when it's hot, and warm your heart when it's cold!
These are so sweet, Cat... love aqua and red for Christmas!
Now about that one-layer thing: only the card base is the way I understand it.

  5. CAS and both are absolutely perfect!! Cool stamp and works great for those one layer cards (which I've always understood to be just the card base and your stamping on the base). And YAY for working on that Christmas stash...you're going to be SO happy come December!! Hugs. :0)

  7. Glad you are getting on top of your Christmas card making. It always feels good to be achieving something. These are 2 really simple and wonderful cards, but it sounds like they weren't quite so simple to make xx

  9. What a great image, perfect for one- or two-layer CASlicious cards, Cat! I love both the traditional Christmas colors and the fun teal/red combo! Thanks for sharing them both with everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

  10. Hi Cat! I enjoyed your blog and congrats on 30 Christmas cards made! You will be all set come December. Your dilemma was interesting with a one layer card and I guess all in the interpretation. I enjoyed both cards and the colors were perfect for our challenge. Thank you for joining us at the Card Concept!

  12. Oh, gosh, both cards are pretty! I love the boughs in blue! You know... I think "one layer" probably means only the base when it comes to the challenge, but the literal interpretation is your latter option. It's all good!

  13. Loving both of these colourways, what a great stamp set! And for clarity, LIM's guidelines for one layer cards are that the one layer is the card base, no additional adhered panels :) Thanks so much for sharing with us at Less is More, Anita x

  14. I call the first one a one layer & I adore the look of that card! The other one is beautiful, too!
